Fantastic customer service.
I made the reservation online however I will give all 5 stars to the employees working at the airport. They all provided outstanding customer service from the team member who finalized my rental agreement at the airport counter on 10/16/26 to the team member who processed the rental return on 10/18/26.

I had difficulty retrieving the vehicle and had to go to the service desk. Other than that everything else was fine. Easy to return to the location.

Rock chips
So I get it of course, damage to a vehicle is damage to a vehicle and covered in the contract unless you purchase the ldw. And $200 for a windshield isn't terrible. Cheaper than the LDW honestly. But all the same, rock chips are a hazard of the road and in my opinion should be considered wear and tear just like a belt or something else would be. But all the same, Hertz is generally good and I'm pretty loyal so still four stars.

Initial flop, great recovery
The initial rental wasn't kept at the original location. Once I was able to call Hertz and have the reservation transferred to a different location, everything went smoothly. No issues, no problems, great recovery after a bumpy start!

I needed to change my drop off point…
I needed to change my drop off point and the website would not let me do it, so I tried to call and could not get a hold of a human being! I was forced to drive to the nearest Hertz office to make the change. It was a huge hassle and then they over charged me by $156! I still cannot get a hold of a human. I will never rent from them again. Hertz - do better!!

Easy everything and the people were super nice. Sadly the cost at RIC is incredibly high so not sure if I will rent anymore there. It’s. ALWAYS crazy with little inventory no matter when you book.
