The team in Kirkland was amazing! At first they were going to have to cancel my reservation because they didn't have a car available. Then - Lou saved the day and a car ended up being available. Thanks Lou, you are the best!

The folks working there are the best. Friendly, helpful, prompt.

During our trip, our vehicle had an electrical short after a heavy rain storm. The vehicle was unable to turn and and a bunch of codes were thrown for ~ 2-3 hours. Then when the vehicle did finally turn on, the check engine light was on. We spoke with customer service and although they were friendly, they were clueless and un helpful in helping us solve our problem or offer any solutions. The first person we spoke with directed us to another hertz location to swap out the car. We arrived at the location and they had no idea we were coming nor had a car available for us. We then called customer service again and this time had a friendly voice with zero help to offer. The person just kept repeating things we told them and let us know about all thr hertz locations that weren’t operational rather than offering any worth while solutions. I got to the point of just hanging up out of frustration. Terrible all around customer experience, hertz had zero processes to manage these problems (seems like it could be a fairly common problem).

This was one of the worst rental car experiences I have ever had.

I made a reservation with Hertz Kirkland and planned my day and other commitments around having that vehicle available. I arrived at the location expecting Hertz to honor my confirmed reservation, only to be told that they were out of vehicles and that I should simply go rent a car at the airport instead.

What is the point of accepting a reservation if you have no intention or ability to honor it?

The most frustrating part is that nobody contacted me in advance to tell me there would be no vehicle. Hertz had my reservation information and could have notified me before I traveled to the location. Instead, I found out only after arriving, when it was already too late to easily change my plans.

I explained to the employee that I had made important plans based on this reservation and that this situation was causing me to lose a significant amount of time and money. There was no meaningful attempt to help, locate another vehicle, or find a reasonable solution. The attitude I received was essentially: do whatever you want; we are not going to honor the reservation.

That level of customer service is completely unacceptable.

Customers should not be treated as though their reservations, time, plans, and money mean nothing. If a location cannot provide a reserved vehicle, the absolute minimum they should do is notify the customer in advance and make a genuine effort to arrange an alternative—not wait until the customer arrives and then tell them to go to the airport.

I would like Hertz Corporate Management to review what happened at the Kirkland location and respond to this complaint. I would specifically like an explanation of why my reservation was accepted but not honored, why I received no advance notification, and why no reasonable assistance or alternative was provided when I arrived.

Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this Hertz location. A reservation should mean something, and customers deserve much better treatment than this.

The car I had requested (a full size sedan) was not available at the time of rental. What is the point of reserving a car then?
The SUV they gave me was noisy and had over 74,400 miles on it. That is not an upgrade. That is a downgrade to an old and inefficient car.

Fast service, wonderful staff. In and out in minutes - both, at the pick up and return.
