One of the best retailers! Their deals are absolutely amazing. 2 pizzas, mozzarella sticks and ice cream tub for £5!!! Staff always very friendly and helpful, wouldn't shop anywhere else.

Bought a jar of coffee. Just got through the exit and noticed it had been opened. Tried to return it and a chap who said he was the manager took it off me and would not give it back, refusing to replace it and would not refund me my £6.00. My partner then entered the store and took an unopened jar from the shelf and the manager said he would call the police for theft of something I had paid for.

The Boldon Colliery branch of Heron Foods seem to be making an effort to get everything right. They always have special offers, the price shown at the shelves is always the same price as at the checkout. Plus, if you don't mind items approaching their best by date, you can pick them up for pennies. This branch outshines all the other branches in the North East.

I'm 38 years old and I had the most horrible experience ever in Herons food workington. I believe I was racially profiled...A couple of times I've bought alcohol before in the store and never been asked for an ID, today conveniently for the rude Cashier with an attitude without a name badge , 5 foot 8 tall,
rusty coloured hair with a Fringe and a ring on middle left finger they asked for my ID for purchasing alcohol. Well, I told her there's no way I'm under 25 and I feel like I'm being racially profiled as I'm black African and I asked her on what about the times I purchased alchohol and without having to produce my ID, So she grabbed the beers with aggravation and told me to get the ID or I won't get the beers, she banged the beers on her right side of the counter and I just left the store..I just feel like I'm in a good position to expose the store and how they treat people simply because of the colour of thier skin in this Era. Anyways you'll never see me contributing to the stores economy ever as it is exclusively for whites only for what its worth...

Heron do some great deals but be careful as they don't always process them. When you complain, staff tell you that the 'offer does not start until next week' or that the 'offer has ended' even when they know it's valid. The IT dept, marketing and shop floor staff need to start singing off the same hymn sheet or they will start losing customers. They must try harder.

Very often overcharged in these shops and this has been happening for years. Are they scanning items twice and knowingly not bothering to remove those items? Are the products not correctly priced on the system, or is it rigged? They don’t provide itemised receipts (wonder why?)

Staff are always busy discussing private issues (or talking about customers behind their backs) on their headsets and have little time for customers, often looking miserable and some have an attitude. Customers are simply an inconvenience that staff would rather not have to deal with.

A very poor rating because it’s a very poor setup. Offers online cannot be found in store - most of the time, and other issues.

The manager in heron foods erdington is the biggest w4nker the 4eyed Donald the duck old cu7t thinks he's hard the stupid old pr1ck would not recommend here because the manger is a right to5ser he needs to get his head out of his ass and stop his attitude and I want him sacked the fat old b4stard

This is absolutely horrible, I brought some squares from herons foods and they were soaking wet and when I smelled them I could taste orange and lime energy drinks and there was a yellow liquid all over the floor. Ridiculous utterly ridiculous im never shopping at herons foods ever again!!!

Visited the store at bransholme centre, absolutley awful customer service, staff clogging up the aisles putting stock out but just stood talking to each other, also at the till was "Leigh" who after finishing scanning the customers items infront of us (obviosly a friend or relative of Leighs) was just casually chatting away despite the fact we was stood waiting to be served, eventually our items got scanned but at the slowest pace possible, afterwards no please or thank you from her

Check the dates on goods got home to find cookies so out of date November 22 is now January 23,I've noticed this with a few items bought from heron so check dates and receipts as these tend to be wrong.

Heron foods at chelmsley used to have the best staff ever. I am only talking about staff on checkout. Use the shop often but.... Girl with ear piece talking to her friend. While serving me. Young lad served me. He was talking to other members of staff while I was struggling to get goods packed. The queue was quite long and helping me would have reduced the customers waiting time

Northfield store extremely rude staff too busy talking on there ear phone to bother or listen to customers will be taking my complaint further

Watch your bill.. New branch in cleethorpes. For months now i have been noticing that it seemed i had spent more than i had thought..Things on the bill that i had not bought and prices on the shelf are higher on the bill. in my opinion this is no accident , They must be making a fortune across the board from people . now i only go in for the odd item . A pound here and there over time adds up and they are the ones that profit from it . no point going there to save a few bob if they are going to rip you off . you may as well go somewhere else

I have always been a big fan of Herons and have recommended them to other people until a recent experience in their Newland Avenue store in Hull. I tried to purchase £35 worth of goods using my Love 2 Shop card. Staff informed me that you can use these cards within their store. However none of the staff appeared to know how to use it and after waiting for several minutes whilst they played and dithered around with it and even rang another store (whilst a huge queue was forming) they told me they were unable to take a payment from this card. I had no other means of paying and had to unpack my goods in front of a huge queue of tutting people. To say that I felt humiliated would be an understatement. I wrote a letter of complaint but this was totally ignored. A couple of weeks later I tried to use my Love 2 Shop card in another store (not Herons) only to be told that I did not have enough money on the card to pay for the item I wished to purchase. I could not understand why there wasn't enough money available to pay and again felt humiliated. I checked my statement from Love 2 Shop when I got home only to find out that Herons had actually taken the money (£35) from my Love 2 Shop card not once but twice and this was why I had no money on my card. So I had actually paid Herons for my goods, did not receive the goods and was humiliated in public not once but twice. I have tried to obtain a resolution to this issue privately with Herons and did complain again both to the Hull Office and head office in Speke but again they have not even acknowledged my letters let alone acted on them. Not even a simple apology. This has led me to believe that Herons has no respect for their customers and also does not train their staff properly. I will not be going in again.

Im 20. I came here for 1 can of monster, they wouldn't freaking serve me! They said you have to be over 18 to buy energy drinks and caffeine products and asked for ID. There's literally no legal requirements for this! Bloody people aren't doing their job properly. Not impressed at all.

Been the Oswaldtwistle store a few times now and noticed the prices are different on the shelf labels to the ones on your receipt. Called Customer services and they said it is what it is really, Staff are busy filling shelfs and have not got round to change the shelf labels yet.
The cues at the checkouts are ridiculous, 6 to 7 deep, Staff are either chatting on their head sets or having a smoke at the fire exit door on the side of the building, throwing their cigarette stubbs on the floor when finished.

The store in Bury was clearly lacking in the customer comes first rule of retail. Plenty of staff buzzing around, all filling up shelves, one guy milking about thinking he was Captain Kirk with his headset on yet offering nothing.
One person on a till with queues and absolutely no effort to ask for additional till staff and was so slow it was painful. What should have taken a couple of mins took an age and then, as she was giving my change by every denomination known to man, eventually asked for help. Absolute shambles of a shop, with zero visible control over that shop floor. Don’t go in if you valuable time.

If I had not got a receipt ,and had to ask for one even though the next customer was asked if they would like a receipt,I would of got scammed out of 87p 2for£1 offer and 2for £2.50 offer I got charged full price I asked why it hasent come off at the tills was told I don’t know this isn’t my store I’m just covering😳😳??always check your receipt they think your just not going to check ( chilwell store) check check check
