Hartley Botanic Omdömen 

Our experience with our new Hartley Botanic glasshouse exceeded all our expectation. We found H B to be very professional in every way. Time schedules were maintained and the install team were courteous, punctual and efficient clearing the site completely.

The glasshouse quality is first class and the attention to detail is outstanding. We are absolutely delighted with it. It looks amazing and we look forward to spending many years enjoying it as an extra room in our house.

We would not hesitate to give the highest recommendation to anyone considering HB for their glasshouse

I bought a Victorian Gallery greenhouse from Hartley in 2021. There were some Covid-related delays but customer service was excellent throughout and the installation team were first rate. The greenhouse and cold frames really enhance our garden and provide plenty of growing space for my seedlings and fruit/veg. All of our visitors comment on the greenhouse.

I am delighted with my greenhouse and am grateful to the lovely and knowledgeable staff at Hartley Botanic. It has space for a bench seat for coffee and two slatted tables for plants. A real pleasure.

We inherited a HB greenhouse when we bought our current house. I want to relocate it as we're redesigning the garden . When I called them, like the previous reviewers, they were so unhelpful. They would not give me any instructions to re-erect it. They said that there aren't any instructions. When I asked how their installers know what to do, they said it's just experience! They refused to allow their installers to come and re-erect it. The problem is mainly that I am not the original purchaser and that, according to them, I don't own the greenhouse. When I said that I could contact the original purchasers who would give their permission for them to help me, they said that the original purchasers have given up their right to own the greenhouse by moving out of the house. So... I don't own it, the original purchasers don't own it, who does own it?? These glass houses are eye wateringly expensive. This company does not believe in recycling/reusing. They would rather I tore this structure down and buy a new one from them. Corporate greed at its worst. Avoid

This used to be a good company, with a good reputation.Sadly, this is no longer the case.

This week I contacted them for a replacement pane as one in my greenhouse had been shattered by a stone whipped up by a strimmer. But, I was told that they no longer supply replacement panes.
Given that they buy their safety glass from a different company, I asked for the name of the company concerned in order that I could make contact with them and purchase a replacement pane. Hartley Botanic refused to give this information!

So, if you're planning to buy a greenhouse I would look at other options. Preferably for a company that does offer a parts replacement service after purchase.

Sadly, Hartley Botanic seem to have lost their way!

I've had three of these greenhouses and they have all had one problem - the paint (powder coating) flakes off. It's worse when you take the greenhouse apart, as the main paint flaking will be on the inside behind channelling/seals, etc. The 10 year paint warranty only applies to the original purchaser SO if you're planning on buying a secondhand HB greenhouse, which is less than 10 years old, make sure you agree with the seller (who you must check is the original purchaser) that they will make a claim if any paint is found to be flaking off when you dismantle it. Really disappointing that the paint finish is so poor (and after about 7 or 8 years it will be very dull) on such a premium product.
I've always found HB Customer Services to be really helpful - if you provide the original address, they can tell you when the greenhouse was purchased. They'll also provide comprehensive erection instructions. I am surprised that no spare parts are available (mentioned in another review).

A very poor experience with Hartley and that was only attempting to purchase a greenhouse. They do not publish a price list and, as we found are a little bit tricky when quoting price. We we quoted and then contacted to tell us that they had made an error and the price had gone up by £600. This was despite that fact that they quoted my wife (4 weeks earlier) a much lower price.
It would appear that it depends on what "promotional offers" they have at the time. Either that, or the person we dealt with were incompetent as a sales person.
Hartley seem to trade on their endorsement from the RHS, which probably costs Hartley money.

Recently bought a second hand Hartley highbrow greenhouse which needed spares contacted Hartley Botanic to buy the spares only to be told they do not sell spares, pretty poor service even for a company not to support their customers

Contacted Hartley Botanic as we are interested in a large well built greenhouse for our garden.Had a lovely discussion with knowledgeable staff. Email arrived with lots of useful information and recommendations . Finally, a lovely brochure and information through the post. First class service,we are now proud to announce we have found a second hand Hartley which will be pride of place in our garden.

Yesterday two technicians from Hartley Botanic arrived to fit the replacement parts for our new greenhouse but, on opening the package, found that the same incorrect items had been sent again, together with a large number of extra pieces which were not required.

It goes from bad to worse!

We bought our greenhouse last year after months of search around. Choosing a greenhouse takes ages to research. In fact it took us 6 months to choose the model for us. After looking at several options we went with a Hartley simply because we wanted an aluminium greenhouse which will last. Build quality was certainly very important for us personally and we didn't really see any that looked as robust as our Lean to Greenhouse number 7.

This was our first year with a greenhouse and thankfully it was the worse year ever for growing outside. If your not on a budget I'd highly recommend one of these. If budget is an option, why not look around for a second hand aluminium greenhouse there are plenty on sites like Ebay.
