Convenient service and professional fitter

I booked to have 2 tyres fitted at my home address. I opted for the 8am - 8pm slot and was really pleased to see that just after 9am the Tracking system had updated to show I was the 4th fit of the day so I could calculate roughly what time I could expect them. When my fitter arrived he was friendly, courteous and respectful of my property. He fitted both tyres in around half an hour. I would recommend the service and will use again in the future.

Very poor customer service

Spoke to someone in customer services about an upcoming appointment. I was asking basic questions about the mobile service and the call hander either just told me he didn't know, and when I asked him to find out, huffed and puffed then gave me very vague answers which didn't fill me with any confidence. He clearly hated his job the way he was speaking. Very unhelpfull.

Had 4 quality new tyres fitted 1 day before MOT. On MOT it was discovered one tyre is delaminating and needs replacing ASAP. Halfords been a nightmare to deal with. My daughter is disabled has 3 children under 12 so has to use car. Instead fitting a new tyre straight away, Halfords want to make appointment to send someone to inspect, then if faulty make another appointment to replace, all the time my daughter has to drive with a faulty tyre. Despite me paying and ordering they won't let me deal with it as it's my daughter's car. Been a nightmare to deal with, won't bring a replacement tyre to 1st appointment, insist will have to make a further appointment, despite clearly being a safety issue as the 'new' tyre is delaminating

Misleading service and deals

I used Halfords home tyre fitting service a few months back and it was excellent; I recommended it highly, so much so when I needed two new tyres I immediately turned to Halfords again. I found the tyres I wanted, added them to the basket, but was unable to book a slot. Contacting customer services I was told the fault was with my device, and to use another, and to clear the cache of all cookies. This I did. I was still unable to book. Another long call to customer services followed where I was eventually told there was a fault with the website and someone would call back. No one did. Now into the third day, I went through the process again; unable to book I re-called customer services. This time the problem was down to the actual tyres. Although in stock, they were not eligible for home fitting so I had to buy a more expensive tyre. Having done that, I still could not book home fitting, customer services telling me they had no idea when my part of Scotland would be covered again, certainly not for at least two weeks. Three days online and on the phone to a service I trusted and recommended. Not any more. Very poor communication and customer relations.

Halfords Mobile service is the worst

Halfords Mobile service is the worst.
The call centre is in South Africa which is rediculous.

They won't agree for a return & refund of a dashcam I've had for less than a day.

I will never use Halfords again !

Extremely poor service

Extremely poor service. I bought 2 new tyres, there was nothing wrong with my tyres, but at my last MOT they said I should change them in 2 months. When changing the tyres he damaged both valves, the first tyre one deflated immediately and he returned and said that he couldn't fix the valve and I would have to go to Mercedes to have it repaired but did admit to breaking it, eventually he tried to fix the problem. Which he later claimed he had done, when I next got in the car the other tyre had also deflated this time I took it to a garage, that valve had been damaged and the tyre had not been sealed or fitted correctly. The situation has caused a lot of stress.

I went with your company because you’re supposed to be one of the biggest and most professional tyre fitting companies, and I paid for premium tyres expecting a smooth service, but the whole experience has been very disappointing.

The first time your fitter came out, he brought the wrong tyres, even though I had clearly entered my car registration and model details on the website when booking. Because of this mistake, I then had to spend a long time calling customer service, being transferred between different people and departments, and arranging another appointment myself. It was extremely time-consuming and frustrating. I don’t understand why this could not simply have been rebooked directly for me after your mistake.

The second appointment was also problematic. After the tyre was fitted and the fitter had already left, I realised the tyre pressure had not been inflated properly. My other tyres were all set to around 2.5, but the newly fitted tyre was only around 2.0, meaning I had to sort it out myself afterwards.

In addition, since the tyre fitting, I have occasionally been getting a TPMS/TPWS warning on the dashboard telling me to contact the dealer. This issue did not appear before the tyre replacement, so naturally I am concerned it may be related to the fitting or sensor setup.

Overall, this experience caused a lot of unnecessary inconvenience and wasted a significant amount of my time. For a premium service and premium tyres, I expected a much higher standard of professionalism and attention to detail.

I had a mobile technician come out to…

I had a mobile technician come out to fit a battery £199 with fitting he knocked on my door gave me key said it was done got in car my engine management light was on car in limo mode I tried to call technician no answer I drove to a Halfords store in Basildon Essex guy was very helpful he had left sensors off my car on air box I called customer services number was told the technician had actually put the wrong battery on my car! And he be round to sort it and to go home to wait nobody arrived I called customer services.
Again was told he was coming few hours later called again said he was coming nobody ever did come back I drove to Halfords store in Basildon and had to perchase the correct battery pay to have it fitted and thy put new screw washers ect as the mobile expert!!!!! Hadn’t put then on the bar that holds the battery he had bent the air box was not fitted back on properly! Basildon store sorted everything very happy with them a guy came at 11 o’clock today collected the wrong battery that was fitted to my car and a refund was issued I was told I would get a gift card for everything I was put through as yet not received anything via email I would never ever use mobile technician
Ever again incompetent! The customer services do t no what thy talking about and just go round in circles telling all different things wasted a whole day if I could have given zero stars I would have

I have had 4 tyres fitted by Gary

I have had 4 tyres fitted by Gary, he phoned to tell me at what time he would call, he was very helpful very polite and very profesional, after the work was completed he came and told me and asked if I was happy with the work and I told him it was perfect. Gary is in my opinion is a good and efficiant member of your team.

!!Avoid mobile tyre service!!

Negligent Battery Replacement & No Coding – Damaged My Car’s Systems

I had a shocking experience with Halfords Hardwick after a battery replacement on my SEAT Ateca (2021) on 28 December 2025. They fitted the wrong‑capacity battery (65Ah instead of 59Ah) and refused to perform the required battery coding, even when I specifically asked for it. The technician simply plugged in a device, cleared the errors in front of me, and claimed everything was “done.”From that moment, my car began suffering serious electrical faults: low‑voltage warnings, immobiliser not recognised, the vehicle going “sleepy,” and multiple system errors while driving. again i went their and they were doing 10‑point check instead of battery issue also it was clearly not carried out just emailed marked as “Passed” with no evidence infront of me.
After repeated complaints,with hard wick refused I was pushed to the King’s Lynn branch, where they confirmed the new Yuasa battery needed charging again — only three months after installation. Despite this, the same issues continued.Worse still, my infotainment system crashed immediately after Halfords’ work: Wi‑Fi shows “Internet not available,” user profile won’t sync, factory reset fails, online services and Full Link stopped working, and vehicle security features relying on online connectivity no longer function. this is consistent with incorrect battery coding or voltage drop during Halfords’ procedure, which caused the OCU and MIB3 gateway to lose configuration.This negligence has caused months of electrical instability, loss of security features, repeated inconvenience, and significant mental stress. My vehicle is now partially unusable because of Halfords’ poor workmanship.
Extremely disappointed and strongly advise avoiding this service.

Very professional

The bloke came out today and fitted 4 new tyres on my Peugeot expert van. He was only here 45 minutes.
He was very polite and done a fantastic job.
My experience was very good and I will definitely use them again when I do my car or van

Products unavailable on day of booked appointment

Had booked to have tyres done on a rare day off. Got a missed call first thing so returned it. First call handler told me that the tyres were unavailable. Why? Why would you not make sure you had them in stock for an appointment before the day of? Call handler put me on hold while he got up next available appointments then he hung up. Got back through to him and he pretended it wasn’t him and sent me on a wild goose chase through various equally useless customer service departments until I had had enough and just went to cancel it and get a refund. Took me over a hour to sort it out. What a mess and an easy way to ruin my day. I wouldn’t recommend.

Had dashcam fitted by Halfords - don’t!

Had dashcam fitted by Halfords (had to buy the camera from them). Within a few weeks it had fallen off the windscreen as the stickie pad was no longer sticking. I went back back and they were not interested at all. I kicked up a fuss (the fitting wasn’t cheap!) and they reluctantly put a new stickie pad on and stuck it back. It fell off again within a few weeks. I’ve now tried various stickie pads, glue, black gaffa tape - all to no avail, so I’m going to have to pay another £80 to get someone else to fit it so that it stays. Very poor service from Halfords. Do not recommend

Halfords is a shocking company

** FURTHER UPDATE 20/4 - this gets worse. I submitted a complaint via Resolver about Halfords failure to supply the correct refund after they slyly fitted a lower spec battery than that which I paid for. I had a reply from Lauryn who said she would process the refund upon receipt of my bank details and offered a £10 gift card for my trouble. I responded today and got an automated reply back saying the email address is no longer in use, so once again I can’t contact them. Are you kidding, Halfords? YOU ARE AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!

** UPDATE: I received a gift card for about half the amount I am due, no apology, no replacement invoice, annd again Live Chat terminated my chat saying no-one available during opening hours. Utterly incompetent. **

Odd how Halfords Mobile Expert has two profiles on Trustpilot, is that allowed?

I booked a mobile battery fitting. The guy turned up on time, friendly and professional, however, not with the battery I ordered. I ordered a Yuasa battery and he arrived with a lower spec, cheaper, Halfords own brand battery. Fortunately I was watching over the fitter and noticed it wasn’t what I ordered because I don’t think Halfords was going to volunteer that information.
I agreed he could fit it if he arranged a refund for the price difference, and obviously I will need a receipt that confirms what battery they fitted, for guarantee purposes.
I attempted to contact Live Chat during their opening hours but each time was told no agent available and no option to wait. I did get a random email saying a refund would be processed and I would have it within 3 working days. That hasn’t happened.
Shoddy service, they seem to intentionally make it difficult for people to contact them. Well, I’ll be coming for you like a Rottweiler, Halfords, you won’t get away with ripping me off!
Kindly refund my money.
Needless to say, I won’t be renewing my Motoring Club membership.

Don't use

Don't use. I booked for a tyre mobile fit. Cancelled due to sickness on first attempt. Rescheduled a week later and brought the incorrect tyre. Rescheduled again and once again have brought the right tire. 3 weeks on still carless. An absolute shambles.

Do not use Halfords if you have an Audi Q7

Mobile fitter, didn’t do the service fully as requested, tyre switch paid for but not done. Wrecked sensor!
Audi Q7 has sensors in the wheels that break if a tyre change is not carried out correctly, we flagged to the technician yet he still mucked this up… £750 to have this corrected by Audi.
