I was shocked to find out after I'd made this purchase for a $20 prepaid gift card (with the additional dollar and change to activate at the register) that this company will charge you $7.95 a month to have their garbage card that you get at CVS! It's absolute madness and their customer service will do absolutely nothing to help you. They we'll give you a insincere apology and the vague and lame explanation that this is normal and expected , though I have never , ever been charged such an outrageously high fee for a prepaid gift card. So I one hundred percent wish that I could give this company a negative five stars. Total insanity to spend ten dollars and only get to use ten dollars on a card , I would recommend no one ever use this ever....

Did not receive the first replacement card after expiration change the address and had another card sent for five dollars card was never received called. Somebody told me that somebody would call us back in two business days. We asked for a manager got one but did not get help and hung up on horrible Card. I will be moving my mother’s money elsewhere.

I don’t know why Apple uses green dot bank, but they’re very horrible. They can’t even dispute back the simplest charge of something that I didn’t have. I’m not understanding their cards are horrible. They’re good for shit. They’re not good for shit. They’re horrible in general. They’re just horrible. I don’t know how many times I gotta say they’re horrible, but they’re horrible.

Don't deal with these crooks they will just close your account and take your money.

My mom had $ 500 loaded onto a greendot card and when she went to a Chime ATM to withdraw it, the machine wouldn't dispense the money. She tried withdrawing $300. She contacted the number on the machine and they told her to contact greendot. Of course greendot states it can take 30 days to investigate and determine if she gets her money?!?! This is ridiculous! She has the receipt from the ATM showing $300 withdraw, zero dispersed! This company is poorly operated and their customer service was extremely unpleasant! I wouldn't recommend using them at all! They do not stand behind their services ethically!

I received a $30 gift card and had to open and account to activate it. I never saw any information about a monthly fee and now have a negative balance. I called and they said they cannot do anything about it. I did not like having to open the account to begin with. What a scam.

We had a direct deposit account get compromised and redirected. Well call them up and promptly got hung up on, sucks big time.

Absolutely the worst bank ever.
In early January we had someone fraudulently charge airline tickets to our card. The bank gave some of the money back and then said the rest we had authorized.
We have not authorized any of these charges!
They didn't stop the card transactions and nearly 23,000 dollars was taken from our account!
But I get declined at the gas station for making a fuel purchase. How does that make any sense!!!!
WORST BANK EVER!

The pay as you go Green Dot card I've been using for a year now. I use it online. But because my social security number somebody else has it as well. I always failed pre-qualification or something to get a card in my name. Which is fine however much I put in the card in the beginning is what I use. Then when that amount runs out I just go get another one. Again I use the pay as you go card. All of a sudden tonight when I'm ordering something online Green Dot actually will not let the purchase go through. Even though I have substantial amount of money on this page you go Green Dot card. I called to talk to supervisor. She stated that their policy is always been if you do not get verification on your social security number and all this other stuff that you can only use these card in store purchase. Again I've been using these cars for over a year. Or purchases online I just have to use up the card the amount that I put on there then I throw it away. So if their policy all of a sudden changed. Well I guess now they're just keeping the money.

A fake invoice was submitted to our accounting team. The invoice included Green Dot listed as the payment method. While I have NOT dealt with Green Dot, it is clear that the company is well known to facilitate scam transactions.

I bought two cards , walked out of the store into the parking lot tried to activate the cards in the car ; it says invalid card. Called green dot got the run around no help but a suggestion to call the local police. Tried cvs pharmacy and they said the cards were legit and I need to contact green dot. The money is gone I would imagine

They scammed me over 130 dollars on my card and they took it all and I had -15 on my card. Pls don’t fall for the scam .

Straight scam I put 103$ on an card I bought and they scammed

I was recently scammed, and trying to resolve the issue with Green Dot’s customer service was an absolute nightmare. I spent over an hour on hold just to reach a human, only to be met with scripted responses and significant language barriers. To make matters worse, I was repeatedly transferred and forced to explain the entire situation from scratch every single time.

Simple tasks, like flagging the specific fraudulent transactions, took over an hour (all while scammers were actively inside my account.) To "help," Green Dot froze my account and told me they wouldn't unfreeze it until a new debit card arrived in the mail in 10 days. As a business owner, I explained that I need to pay my team and cannot wait two weeks. They offered to expedite the card to 3 days, but only if I paid a $20 fee. I couldn't even pay the fee because they had already frozen my account. The lack of common sense and urgency is staggering. If you value your time, your money, or your sanity, do yourself a favor and stay away from Green Dot.

I lost my Greendot card 2 months ago and they still have not replaced it or refunded my balance. Use Apple Pay vs Greendot.

I’m not sure if anyone will ever see this but I pray they do . Do not open an account with green dot it will be the worst thing you can do in life . It is a criminal company , they take and do what they please when they please with your account without notice , customer service is horrible , the fees are horrible , they set you up in a way so you can’t retrieve your awards , they will put you into overdraft when overdraft is off and then literally tell you they can do what they want when they want and hand up on you …..WHATEVER YOU DO DONT GET GREEN DOT it will be the worst mistake you’ve ever made

I brought green dot i was disponted because the moment I brought my card For some reason. It was in somebody else's name. I couldn't make an account online. It was not worth buying. I hope that this help because I did not want nobody else to get hacked even when I put money in there it already lost.

I purchased a Green Dod card at my local CVS store for $400. I have the receipt and card. The next day I went to use it and it did not work. I have since called Green Dot in which they have informed me that someone fraudulently depleted the money and that is all they can tell me. They then said they cannot refund me the money. This is a huge scam and I would advise anyone looking to purchase a card not to but just ne from them as there is 0 security.

What a scam and rubbish bank. It should be named red dot. If you hear this name, cancel all business associated with this nonsense. No proper business process or professionalism.
