Have been here several times with my partner once for an afternoon tea and again for Sunday lunch, cannot fault anything and will be returning. The service was amazing, food was lovely and we felt welcome. Only downside was wine was so expensive though didn't ruin our visits.
A wonderful experience at this hotel.We spent our wedding Anniversary here in a beautiful Harbour view room.Spacious and spotlessly clean.The staff were all friendly and couldn’t do enough for us to ensure we enjoyed our stay.The dinner and breakfast menu had lots of choice and were excellent.
Great value and we will stay here again when we can
We spent one night at The Greenbank Hotel mid October. We had a slight problem with our room caused by a pipe leak from the above room. We were moved immediately and upgraded. The room we were upgraded to was superb with stunning views of The River Fal. Breakfast was waiter service and we could not fault it, absolutely delicious. Staff, ambience, comfort we could not fault.
We always love The Greenbank - it is stylish, the food a treat and the location awesome. And the staff are AKWAYS lovely. The lunch offer a little less swanky feeling than previously so would happy pay a bit more to keep it feeling as special as it used to, but I understand times are hard. Ooh and I’d love the dog to be allowed in!
Lovely hotel, large room, spotlessly clean, staff are wonderful. Food is amazing. Absolutely outstanding!
Enjoyed a great mini break at the Greenbank Hotel highly recommend this hotel we stayed in a harbour room very clean and comfortable enjoyed dinner in the restaurant which was excellent staff friendly and professional breakfast the following morning very good plenty to choose from on the menu will look forward to another visit .
I last visited this hotel in about 6 years ago and I gave it a good review. Unfortunately this time it wasn't so good. We booked for a 3 night break in a family room with a harbour view which was fine. All the staff were pleasant and well trained.
The location of the hotel is quite special but we were quite disappointed in the restaurant this time.
We paid for dinner on all three nights at a cost of £40 per head and we were informed we could order food to the value of £45
The same menu card was presented each evening with minimal change. All the items on the menu were individually priced even down to bread. No offer of bread on the table. The meat offer was invariably beef or chicken. Fish catch of the day was offered and other fish dishes like scallops and mussels were also offered No pork, lamb or duck.
Chips were offered with many of the meals and new potatoes, but no dauphinoise or roast potatoes on our visit. Formica tables, no tablecloths not fine dining in my opinion . The whole experience felt like the hotel management were economising on the dining experience .
Call me traditional but I dislike intensely the idea that side dishes starters and sweets are not included in the cost to form a wholesome meal. On the 1st night we overspent our allowance on food by £41, that was 4 small glasses of wine, about 6 slices of sourdough bread , a panacotta sweet and a chocolate tart sweet. I expect to pay for wine but not starters and sweets.
I also had a stomach upset after eating fish on the last night. It was not the best holiday break costing over £1000 we have experienced.
