Found it easy to set up and really easy to share & use. Only challenge was accessing the "gift pot" once the collection had closed - had to google it to find out what to click on. So having something to say how to access the fund and share it with the recipient would have make the experience excellent

Really great option for combining a collection and messages
Really great option when organising a collection. With the ability to combine messages and a collection (and to allow people to write messages without contributing) as well as allowing the recipient to choose their own retailer to use the card out would definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience from GiftRound
I have been using Giftround for a few years now and the experience has always been great! It seems to be a small company, and as such, they take fantastic care of their customers. I have used Giftround for colleagues' gift collections, but also for very large groups (80+) like school staff and twice a year to give them a gift at Christmas and at the end of the school year. When it comes to large groups, the website can't always handle to request to split the collection efficiently, but the GiftRound team always respond well to requests and are very helpful. I highly recommend them!

Overall disappointed
Overall, I found the Giftround customer service team to be polite and responsive throughout my enquiry. Although I was offered a 50% refund as a goodwill gesture, I was disappointed with the outcome regarding my barely expired FlexCard as it wasn’t just pocket change.
After providing feedback, I was informed that GiftRound has extended the validity period of its FlexCards from 12 months to 13 months. It was particularly frustrating to find out that this policy change was not applied retrospectively, despite my voucher falling within what is now the revised validity period. The website as far as I could see in the frequently asked questions had also not been updated to reflect the change. This is a positive change as many retailers I’ve used for gift cards previously provide much longer than 12 months validity. The nature of this type of card means people are collecting and sorting the gift cards well in advance of gifting them to people as opposed to regular gift cards people go and buy closer to gift giving time direct from stores so most people will end up with less than 12 months upon receiving the gift.
I was also disappointed by the lack of transparency around what happens to the remaining balance on expired vouchers. As these are often group gifts purchased in good faith, it would be reassuring for customers to know exactly where any unused funds go once a voucher expires.
While I appreciate the goodwill gesture and the professionalism of the customer service team, the overall policy felt inconsistent and inflexible. The experience has left me disappointed, and I would be hesitant to use GiftRound or recommend it to others. I would recommend anyone looking to buy a gift card look for companies that follow the UK GCVA which encourages companies to follow much better terms for gift cards.
Edited: I mentions the GCVA as from my own research it indicates that the GCVA encourages businesses to use expiry dates of at least two years.

I'm pleased to hear that you found our customer service team polite and responsive throughout. Whilst I'm sorry you're disappointed with the outcome, we appreciate the constructive way you engaged with us.
Following feedback from customers, including yourself, we recently made a number of improvements to the recipient experience, including clearer communication around voucher validity and extending the validity period of newly issued GiftRound FlexCards from 12 to 13 months. As with most product changes, these improvements apply to vouchers issued after the change was introduced rather than retrospectively.
In relation to expired balances, once a FlexCard expires, any unused balance is dealt with in accordance with the arrangements and terms that apply to our third-party voucher provider. Unfortunately, expired balances are not something we are able to recover or reinstate once the validity period has passed.
Thank you also for updating your comments regarding the GCVA. Whilst the GCVA encourages good practice across the gift card industry, it does not mandate a minimum two-year validity period. Our previous 12-month validity period was consistent with the GCVA Code of Practice, and our decision to extend newly issued GiftRound FlexCards to 13 months goes beyond that guidance.
