Handily was incredibly easy and useful for me as a new homeowner. With so much to learn and figure out, I used Handily to help me identify which experts I needed.

I received support in two areas:

1 Back Patio Roof: Our back patio roof was poorly constructed, causing water to leak and damage the foundation. Billy, Handily’s contractor, quickly identified solutions and suggested adding a gutter instead of rebuilding the entire roof. Now, I’m coordinating with a gutter company for a quote.

2 Kitchen Sink Smell: My kitchen sink area had an “earthy” smell, and I worried it might be mold. Mold testing companies wanted to charge me over $200. Billy inspected the area, showed me that there is a hole under the sink leading to the crawl space, and offered solutions.

Overall, Handily is a trusted third party that helps me understand and address issues correctly. It lets me feel confident that I know what the next step should be and how to address it with the right expert before pouring resources for the wrong thing!

I had an excellent call with the plumber, Levi. He answered all my questions relating to a drainage pipe in my basement and also provided useful information and detail relating to the cost to repair that I didn’t even think of asking but was very valuable. Will definitely be using this service again and again!

Fantastic service. Super convenient. Great for those DIY projects where you need a little more advice than you can find on YouTube. I spent 5 min on a call with a plumber, and 10 min on a call with electrician one day, and they both answered my questions easily, and saved me a bunch of time (and money!). It was great!

Doug was on time, experienced, pleasant and pragmatic - and he was able to diagnose the issue with my dryer and made actionable recommendations. I feel empowered, and just need to buy a part at Home Depot. My wife thinks I am a hero now!! Thank you Handily.

I had a great experience with Handily. They were able to answer my questions for my project, and they were able to foreshadow potential issues because they could see the area on screen. Handily saved me time and money. It also gave me the confidence to complete the project on my own.

The expert plumber who I spoke with accurately diagnosed that the water entering my basement was ground water, not a plumbing issue and recommended that I work quickly to get in touch with a restoration company to prevent further damage inside my home. I did this and the issue is now resolved. The quick action that I was able to take due to the convenience of Handily likely saved me thousands of dollar in damage that could have occurred while trying to get someone here in person.

Easy to use. Good advice. We met with Doug, a GC, for unbiased advice on our gutter system, stucco repairs and better drainage near our foundation. This small time and budget investment was totally worth it so we’re more prepared to hire local professionals.

Handily is easy to use. I scheduled a video chat with a master plumber in 30 seconds.
I tried Handily because I had 2 questions.
1. Could I fix the drain problem on my own - "Is this a DIYes or DINope home repair"?
2. Could I schedule an appointment beginning on the half hour instead of a moving four hour window (at best)?
I'm recommending Handily because it was more valuable than my other options.
1. Research on YouTube, Reddit, Google reviews that consumes time without clear answers (endless debates on forums, ads on YouTube masquerading as info, reviews that's can't be trusted)
2. Paying >$300 for a plumber for a DIYes job
The entire experience was easy and flawless and I was able to fix both of my plumbing issues because of Handily.

Handily is the way to go! I am extremely happy with the service. It was easy to make an apt and joining the meeting was simple. They sent reminders of the meeting and it was on time and professional. The Electrician was very knowledgeable and had a great personality. I will definitely use again!

A year ago i bought a new modern beautiful faucet to install in my kitchen sink, and since then it has sat on a side counter gathering dust, because in my mind, installing it was more complex then I had the headspace for.

So I booked a handily appointment just to have a master plumber checkout my kitchen sink plumbing, walk me through it to give me a sense of how scary it would be. So, I did that with Handily and the 30 minute walk through showed me how NOT scary it was, and after the call, I got the video recording of the custom tailored explanation he gave me, so the following weekend, I watched it, and then installed the new faucet, and it was way easier than I thought.

So, the problem with going the youtube route is that I don’t get an experienced plumber to see my setup, whereas with handily, the guidance was spot on and that’s what made this really really useful.

Had a great call with Jeff the electrician. The breaker to my stove was tripping and I wasn’t sure why or who to call. I shared my experience with Jeff and he ruled out a few things and it turned out I needed to change the breaker type. I hired an electrician who changed the breaker out and no more tripping.
