British Academy of Garden Design Omdömen

I started my journey with the Academy in 2020 when Covid19 made me revise my skillset and direction for the future. While other courses provided with very basic training the BAGD allowed me to discover a designer within despite that I do not have inclination for architecture. It is thanks to its effective curriculum that I have become the horticulturalist I wanted to be, created my dream garden and even become a judge of the town's gardens 2025!

Great communication, good structured lessons, lots of study materials, constructive assessment of work.

Very happy with my experience, the course materials are exceptionally well-structured, gradually building knowledge in a way that deepens my understanding with every unit. Despite studying fully online, I feel supported, and the overall learning experience has so far been incredibly positive and exciting.

The tutors have been very prompt to get my assignments marked and student services have been very helpful when I have been in touch.
I'm enjoying the course and really looking forward to a new career soon.

This is a great course with a very knowledgeable tutor. I am finding each session very interesting and engaging.

I am only half way through the course but I have to say so far its been fantastic. I have two degrees in a different field. One studied by Open University, one at night school. This course has been just as good if not better. The tutors Cant help you enough and the resources are great. There are video tutorials and there's always help at the end of an email.

Very Good I'd recommend

I have enjoyed this course so far and have had good support from my tutor. They are fair in their markings and constructive with their feedback.

Embarking on the Diploma in Garden Design at the British Academy of Garden Design has been a thoroughly rewarding experience. The course is thoughtfully structured, gradually building knowledge and confidence, making it ideal for beginners. The tutors are exceptionally responsive and supportive, always ready to assist with queries and provide valuable feedback.

I finally made the decision to retrain and leave full-time teaching, so I’m currently completing the Postgraduate Diploma and really enjoying it. It’s challenging but so much fun learning new skills, and I appreciate being able to work it around family life. Feedback has always been prompt and clear - the tutors are brilliant and student services has always been very helpful. I can see myself improving with each assignment. Highly recommend for anyone mulling over starting something new!

Loved the whole journey. BAGD fulfilled my childhood dream, and a new world of knowledge opened up for me during the process.

Today I passed my last assignment with merit, and am very very happy about it. Thank you BAGD!

Studying for a diploma in garden design.
The course is in depth and you really have to work hard for the distinction! You learn a lot in the process and the teachers are very supportive and quick at responding.

I just finished my Postgraduate diploma and it was a pleasure to be a part of this academy. It came with its challenges but there were always helpful tutors and students in the forum that helped me along. The tutors were very encouraging and supportive all the way through. I learnt a lot from their feedback.
I highly recommend this course to anyone interested in garden design, especially if you prefer the flexibility of online learning. It boosted my confidence and enabled me to work around my family life.

Good course, great flexibility in study, responsive and helpful student services

It’s a thoughtful course. Well structured with excellent formative and summative feedback for each assignment.

I am truly enjoying my experience at the British Academy of Garden Design. The ability to study from afar, at my own pace and in my own circumstances, is incredibly valuable. The course materials are excellently written clear, engaging, and easy to understand, even for someone whose first language is not English.

My tutor, has been especially helpful, always responding to my questions quickly and providing great guidance. The learning process is both enjoyable and highly interesting, making this a fantastic experience overall.

I was very anxious about starting a new course, but the content and the tutors have really put my mind at ease. Really appreciate the tutors response to my questions as they are not just generic answers but answers that have really help me complete my first assignment. I now have full confidence in myself to continue and achieve the highest grades! Thank you!!

The Certificate course is great. Gives you a broad overview of the history of gardening, how to assess, improve and design a garden, how to chose plants and hard surfaces etc. how to create and present all stages of garden design.
it’s self directed learning with tutor support, they always reply quickly with helpful advice and ideas. It’s a broad timescale of three years to get the 5 assessments done so plenty of time to fit your lifestyle.
Course materials are extensive with good How To guides for all subjects covered.
There’s a student forum (didn’t use it tbh as quite happy on my own) as well if you want to get in touch with other learners.
This course is good for hobbyists or those wanting to get into the industry. I’ve just signed up for the Diploma.

The Garden Design course so is great, lots of study material and practical advice. The mix of written and visual assignments makes it interesting. I am learning loads and loving it.

I haven't long started my course, but so far I've been really impressed with the content and library of resources that they give you to assist with the assignments.
