Furosystem should be avoided

I would not recommend this company or the quality of the bikes they are selling. I ordered a electric bike and the parcel arrived last week poorly packaged and opened at both ends with parts from the bike falling out on my doorstep. I have asked for a replacement or refund and the company haven’t responded to this request. Avoid at all costs.

Great bike

Great bike, great price and hills are now a thing of the past. Bought off the outlet and it arrived within 2 days, assembly was also pretty straightforward, and the battery has yet to need a recharge. Looking forward to riding it up steeper hills and pushing it (and myself) to the limits!

Hmmm…well

Hmmm…well, this is my third review of our Furo Max having now covered about 500 miles since Feb when it arrived.

Basically, still mightily impressed, we bought two bike for our motorhome. Since we got them they have travelled far and wide in the back and been well used.

They have good quality components and proven amazingly powerful. We have tackled hills I was convinced we would be walking up. They are tough and well put together. We often get stopped and asked about the bikes and are nothing but full of praise.

We did have a slight issue with one which required a spare part which was issued free of charge….very responsive and helpful.

I will admit that the bikes took ages to deliver but remain pleased we persevered.

Appalling company - avoid if you can

Appalling company - I'd recommend avoiding them if you have a choice. I placed an order for one of their FuroX bikes 4 months ago. At the time delivery was advised for around a month later. It's now 4 months on, and still no sign of any bike, and a promised delivery date which keeps getting pushed back by months on their online tracker.

It's impossible to get in touch with them. They never answer their phone, and any email response takes around 2-3 weeks, with a canned reply.

They currently have £1700 of my money, I have no bike, and no way of resolving this. I'd love to give a review of the bike, but at this rate that's unlikely to happen.

We are waiting for a few components that were delayed and British/Portugal customs pre-clearance before we can start processing shipments straight from our factory to your door. We hope to resolve this in a matter of days.

I would also like to reassure you that you are free to cancel your pre-order at any time, as the e-bike will be transferred to the next people in the queue and your pre-payment will be fully refunded. While we are currently experiencing high volumes of demand which can lead to our phone lines being busy, we usually get back to enquiries within 2 to 3 business days. Please check your SPAM folder to double check our correspondence did not get lost there.

We are working our hardest to have your Furo X shipped to you ASAP and would like to profusely apologise again for the delay. FuroSystems - Aventa Max Bike

Nice bike, great range, reasonable weight, and good value. Have changed the saddle as the ride was a little hard, but very pleased with the performance. Secure delivery service was excellent. The overall time to ship did take a little longer than initially advised, but it was worth the wait. Also liked that the whole range of batteries are available as parts, and that they are interchangeable.

Fantastic bike

Fantastic bike looks amazing and is a very smooth ride. Still quite heavy to carry up stairs. One thing I did think was odd was the front light is powered by the bike battery but the back light is not, why not have them both running of the main bike power supply. Apart from that I would recommend this bike 100%

Delivery time

I don't like to kick anyone while they are down but potential customers should know that I made an order over two months ago and am now being advised it could be another month.

The product better be good as the hill I ride every morning is getting steeper as the weather gets colder!! Furo - I also have had to buy a second hand fold up bike while waiting.

Aventa needed some attention.

The bike was easy to assemble and the battery charged by time I was finished. I went for a test ride and found the gears not to be indexed properly, and after 5 miles the tyres had lost pressure. After a visit to my local bike shop for new tyres and tubes, and indexing of the gears the machine came alive. I have now ridden over 150 miles on it, without any more issues. With Schwalbe marathon tyres it rides smoothly and has predictable handling. My only gripe now is the seat, now waiting for Rido S2 to arrive.

Love the bike

Love the bike, just what I wanted. Disappointed that the rear light wasn’t integrated into the bike as the front light and as advertised in the website and in the instruction leaflet that comes with the bike, it’s just a bog standard battery light. Also trying to work out how to raise the handlebars as they’re a bit low for me. That aside very pleased with the bike.

Quick to process refund

I have recently decided to cancel my Furo-X Max order due to delays and safety concerns. I emailed and got a quick response from FuroSystems. The full refund was processed almost immediately and cleared the next day.

Love the bike - love the customer service.

I had reviewed out of frustration previously as was struggling to get a part to fix my bike and couldn't find a way to order it or get in touch.

I have just had a call from Furo explaining what they have done to resolve the situation. Normally I'd expect this sort of call to be 'we'll look into it', but i was surprised to be told they had set up a dedicated page to resolve this and spare parts are now available online. They were super helpful and receptive to my previous negative feedback and handled this in a way that should be a blueprint for companies dealing with shortcomings.

Buy a furo bike. I've had mine for 3 years or so now, and while you will have issues from time to time, you will with any bike let alone a folding electric light weight bike. They are great fun, easy to take on the tube and fold under your desk and its a great small company to support who listen to complaints and act on them

Purchased a refurbished FuroX Max

Purchased a refurbished FuroX Max. Very happy, it pretty much fulfilled all my expectations. Allows me to push the envelope of my work commute. Can still have a work out in the knowledge that I have assistance on those last few hills of the home stretch at the end of the day. Early days, and have yet to see how the battery power holds out, but in general very satisfied.

The wait hasn't been worth it

After a long wait with lots of mishaps along the way, the bike I ordered in March (Furo-x Max) finally arrived. I took it on my commute to London. The first time down (and 2nd trip from new) I had a slow puncture but got back ok. I also noticed the LHS peddle was loose so over the weekend I changed the innertube and tightened up the peddle. My next trip down to London the following week (3rd time the bike left the garage), and one peddle fell off, the other was hanging at an angle. This happened on a very busy dual carriageway in the City - fortunately I was uninjured. I've emailed FuroSystems (phoning has proven futile) both directly to the individuals previously communicated with and through their website; all requests for assistance have so far gone unanswered....they're currently receiving more requests and demand than usual.
As it stands I'm neither impressed by the company nor the bike which because it's unrideable is now garaged in London where it's becoming a nuisance.
Perhaps I'm just unlucky?

Bad company! Don't buy their bikes!

I bought the Furo Aventa E-Bike in April 2021. I keep having issues with flat tires after short rides. As of today I had 8 flat tires on a new bike, with no visible outer punctures. After some visits to a bike repair shop the mechanic found out, that the wheels Furo is using are of a low quality, resulting in sharp edges that consequently damage the tire from the inside. Furo has sent me 2 new wheels to tackle this problem. As I live in Germany, I had to wait 6 weeks to have them delivered, with customs and everything. At first I was happy with the new wheels, but now my tires are flat AGAIN!

I asked to return the bike and get my money back, but Furo hasn't agreed to do this. So now I sit on a brand new E-Bike for 1.800€ which is useless to me, as I keep having flat tires and cannot equip it with other, higher quality wheels because of the integrated motor. Don't buy their bikes, you get low quality parts and poor aftersales service! I am really frustrated!

Thank you for your feedback. Anyway, I wonder why you don't come back to me via E-mail in days but manage to answer on trustpilot in a matter of minutes?

I do not ride my Aventa on uneven terrain or damaged roads, I use it in an urban environment on paved roads. It is a shame to hear, that you do not accept returns after 30 days, even if the issues only become clear after that period, which is the case here. Within the 30 days, how could I have known about the flat tires to come? I was sold a faulty product and now the company doesn't take responsibility for that.

We are very sorry you are still experiencing these issues with your Aventa. While punctures with the Aventa seem to be quite rare with our community, if it is used on a damaged, or not asphalted road, punctures can occur. In this case, the best thing to do is to upgrade to wider inner tubes and tyres. These are less optimal for city environments but less prone to punctures when riding uneven terrain.

I am very sorry you feel disappointed in our support and while we tried our best to assist you, we will definitely learn from this. The wheels we sent out under warranty were triple checked for quality, evenness and strength and we are sorry to hear you have encountered an issue again. Similarly, as highlighted in our terms and conditions, we cannot accept returns past 30 days of using any of our products, however we definitely will during that time period.

Furo Aventa is a great bike

My bike arrived within the stated two weeks time frame, there were some small parts missing in transit, but this was quickly resolved by the customer service team. The bike is great fun to ride and very responsive

Aftercare service is poor

There are two things essentially that I want to say. Firstly I love my furosystem bike. It is a great ride, smooth brilliant power. Very light and perfect for my commute. However the after care service is lacking. I purposefully bought a bike from a UK company so that I would get a prompt aftercare service. This has not been my experience. I have been taking with the customer care team now for 4 weeks to resolve an issue with my bike. Each time they email my I respond the same day . It takes them 3 days to respond to me. It took them 7 days to respond to my intial email. You cannot contact them via phone as they disabled this line of contact due to demand. So I am in limbo at the mercy of this company waiting for somebody to reply to me through email. I expect they are hoping that I’ll just get fed up and take it to a repair shop and pay for it to get fixed myself, but what’s the purpose of a two year warranty. When you search for reviews on furosystem you really can’t find any bad reviews? But surely there are many more people like me experiencing really poor customer care in after sales? Think twice about purchasing this bike unless you are prepared to resolve your own technical issues locally.
