Formula One Autocentres - Bedford Omdömen 

Car failed MOT for what should have been only advisories. Stated one brake pad less than 1.5 mm when later inspection elsewhere showed it to be in excess of 2.5mm. Also stated tyre had a bulge caused by separation. This turned out to be a legitimate earlier puncture repair and perfectly ok. In my opinion these guys are either incompetent or wilfully fail cars to drive business in the workshop. Avoid at all costs.

I have been servicing my car at the Formula One Autocentre, Elms Farm, Bedford for the last 4 years. The car is 2009 and of course when I go for MOT, every year some problems were discovered. Every time I was given a quote for the service and every time I did the service with them. On 22nd of February this year, I went for MOT. There were few things that needed fixing. On the top, I asked them to change the tyres and the engine oil. I had oil leak after the service. I contacted the team, arranged a date and the problem was fixed free of charge. I could feel my car is working better now. I will continue to use their service.

I needed to get copies of my previous services which Formula One Autocentres had done on my car. Within 24 hours they located and send the entire service history. That is truly excellent customer service.

Have used F1 Bedford several times. Apart from one occasion I have had excellent service and competitive prices, always matched if found cheaper ( which normally doesn't happen ).

My fuel cap broke at a petrol station and I couldn’t fill up with fuel. Called formula one and they said they would have a look for me. Within 5 mins of being there he helped me and advised me on what I needed to do. Very grateful and would definitely recommend.

Took my Range Rover in for a standard tyre change, took the car home to find a dent on the left side back bumper, rang garage immediately to inform them damage had be caused while at the garage, they said they would check cctv and get back to me, my husband contacted customer care as we heard nothing from garage which said they would look into this, they said they saw garage workers collected round the car while in garage but didn’t see them reverse into anything but would fix damage we are now in February 2025 this happened in May 2024 with numerous phone calls and being fobbed off the damage is still not been fixed!!! Poor customer service. Just an observation but all the other cars were parked front to the wall. Mine was parked reversed into a corner so I couldn’t see any damage.

Hard to find a trustworthy reliable garage but I struck gold with this one. Really well run with a well educated team prepared go further than most to help.

I'll be honest, I don't know a whole lot about cars and finding a reliable trustworthy mechanic is hard. When I came into formula one in Bedford (due to a recommendation from a colleague), my car was in limp mode, they got me in the next day and sorted the problem in a few hours. Malcolm in particular made me feel at ease straight away and explained everything to me thoroughly. He clearly really cares about the work he does and goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy. I was so pleased with the service that I booked an MOT for a week later where Malcolm and the team were excellent once again. I now have a mechanic that I know won't rip me off and will give me great service. Cannot recommend highly enough.

A simple brake pad replacement uncovered a problem with the parking brake. Although this seemed related, the manager believed it was an existing problem and explained the issue while showing me on the car. They were able to do a repair without having to replace components, which would have been very expensive. I appreciated the interest and care shown by the manager who kept me informed of progress throughout.

Had a warning about low coolant pop up, and after refilling it popped up again, the guys at Bedford checked everything over and couldn't find anything and were confident there wasn't a major problem.

I was expecting to pay an inspection fee but they didn't charge a thing.

Bedford Branch - Excellent service. Always use this branch. No issues at all. Always cheap and very helpful staff. I took my car in for a check and as no work needed all checked for free. Same for my wife's car. Had issues with tyre pressure monitor. All fixed.

Discovered I had a flat tyre late on Sunday afternoon and by the time I’d got the wheel off it was close to 3:30pm. I called ahead and the team promised if I could get across Bedford to them before close they’d make sure I was sorted. Sure enough they were good to their word and I was back on the road before dark! Sometimes when things go wrong you need a bit of a helping hand, and the boys at F1 Bedford delivered that for me today.
