Hi Louis, thanks for the feedback, and I'm sorry the process felt confusing. You're right that it involves two separate steps — completing your own form, and having your ID verified through a separate employer account. That split isn't something we can change, as it's set by the DBS: candidate accounts can't access other candidates' data, and ID verification has to run through the employer side to stay compliant with GDPR. It's not the smoothest journey and we know it can feel like extra hoops.

I submitted a DBS application through…
I submitted a DBS application through Eurocom CI and paid immediately. Shortly after, I was told that as a self-employed applicant I am not eligible and my application cannot proceed. Despite this, they still intend to charge a £12 admin fee.
If self-employed applicants are not eligible, why was my payment taken immediately and why was I allowed to enter all my personal information into the system? The website did not make this restriction clear at the payment stage.

Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate that the DBS system can be complicated. We do not know who you are so we cannot find your application. However self employed individuals depending on their situation can have their application ID verified and suitability completed by their client/professional body. We do make that clear through out our application process. You are unable to submit a DBS application without an ID verifier. And if you are self employed we ask that they are your client/professional body and this is a declaration you make before you make payment.
We also make clear throughout our application process that an admin fee will apply if a suitable ID verifier isn't available.
We are still open to helping you find a suitable ID verifier, if you call us then we will be able to help.

Providing wrong information.
After providing wrong information I have been charged £12 admin fee for cancellation of my order 3 minutes after I did it. They say is it to cover the cost of calling, emailing, messaging me - their customer. This company in my opinion has nothing to do with the customer service. Not recommended.
