By Far the Worst Company to Deal With!! I purchased a Hayward Pool Vac XL Pool Cleaner, for Concrete Pools SKU #7761 $322.32 on June 19, 2022. When I installed the product, it did not function properly. After numerous calls into Doheny's Tech Dept not once did they suggest it could be the product I purchased from them. I was told several times that it was my Pool Pump that was causing the Pool Vac to not function properly. On the 2nd trip to inspect the Pool Pump, I had Leslie's Pool replace my Pump at $1500 incl Installation. I quickly learned it was not the Pool Pump since the Pool Vac was still not operating correctly. By now my Pool is Black with Algae, tons of money being spent to correct the water and still no Pool Vac Working. My neighbor who had seen things go from bad to worse came over to the house and opened up the Pool Vac and learned that the parts were installed backwards. After fixing it, the Pool Vac worked perfect. I contacted Doheny's once this was discovered and explained the situation, asked why I was told several times it was my Pool Pump when in fact it was the product I purchased. Long Story Short, I was given a $100 Store Credit for future purchases, today I contact Doheny's to finally use my credit only to learn that it was for $30, not $100. Ironically, the Supervisor whom I spoke to regarding the $100 Credit is no longer working for the Company. Rachel Green, the Supervisor who I spoke with today told me she would not honor anything but the $30. This is totally unexpectable, I would have never accepted a $30 credit. This company does NOT stand behind what they say and what they sale and will NOT take any responsibility even when it's their defective product.

Placed an order that is now back orders with no availability forecast in addition I now have product that I can’t use based on the back order issue. Customer service of no help

Doheny's customer service is awful; trying to rectify a discrepancy with them is not very helpful. When they stop you from purchasing a product, they can’t even explain why they decided to stop the transaction. Doheny's response is first that it’s my bank’s fault for the transaction not going through, but when the bank confirmed that it was Doheny's, the customer service rep then decided that there was a transaction back in July 2023 that I have to resolve (with whom?). The only transaction I had with Doheny's was resolved, and that was a nightmare involving the Doheny's rep accusing me of getting the product on said date and time when I had a video of no one delivering the product. I wonder where Doheny's assigns their customer service team; it’s definitely not in the USA. Dealing with these representatives, it's obvious they don’t know how the American consumer market works, as they always assume the customer is wrong. I wonder if Doheny cares?

Purchased a Harris Pool pump a few of years ago, the door and the rubber seal need to be replaced. Have called their customer service multiple times and am told they would search their warehouse as a courtesy and to give them 3-7 business days to search for the item. In the meantime, my pump is not operable. Why would you sale an item that replacement parts are unavailable for. The pump is no more than 3-4 years old and should not have to be replaced for a door cover. But that's exactly what I had to, purchase a new pump. I will not be doing business with this company in the future. Lots of wasted money on an item.

Buyer beware… Incompetent people and poor systems !!!! The ship dates are not accurate and terrible customer service. Prepped my pool for Epoxy that had a 2 day delivery window. Weeks gone by and no Epoxy…. Customer service is terrible all the way up to the “so called manager”, Jasmine. Only thing she got right was canceling my order. Purchased at their competitor and arriving tomorrow.

I purchased a pool cover in August of 2024 which carried a 3 year warranty. When I was going to remove the cover, (May 2025) I noticed at least one defect in the cover. I submitted pictures and they approved the claim the next day. They advised me that the cover would be replaced but with a shipping cost of $20.00. I first asked thru an e-mail to have the shipping cost waived since the cover did not even make it thru its very first season! After that request was denied, I contacted the company and spoke to three different representatives. I stated that that the cover failed in the first 25% of its life. During my conversation with the manager, I was told the cover was, in fact, a manufacturing defect! At this point, I honestly thought the company would stand behind its product especially when the defect is on them. Any and all costs related to replacing the cover should be absorbed by the company. I have been purchasing products from Doheny's since I installed my pool in 2019. I really thought they would do the right thing, especially since the product was deemed to be a manufacturing defect!

the next day delivery is a flat out lie. ordered Wednesday afternoon. Was told next day delivery. Not arriving till Saturday a day after I need the item.

Our pool pump went out so we decided to order a new one plus a new sand filter. I called on a Wednesday to place an order. Unfortunately I could barely understand the indian accent! We'll come Friday i received a sand filter, the plumbing kit 5 out of the 6 bags of sand i ordered and the wrong pump! I called them to tell them but was told my sand was still coming! They also sent us a new pump. It's Monday now and the pump came but no sand bag! I called and had to talk to an Indian woman that had no idea what I was talking about and was rude! I called a different department and got the right information. Fedex for some reason had my bag of sand still in their warehouse so I'm working with them now!

Joanna helped us with selecting our new pool liner! She was great!
My husband & I are senior citizens and she was very patient with us and our liner is gorgeous, we are so so happy!

Horrible customer service after product purchase. No help with installation. We were told to get a pool technician. Wanted to charge restocking fee and pay for return. Wish I could give 0.

Dohenys is usually fast and good but today I ordered 3 things from doheny above ground maintenance kit which included a free dohenys aluminum telescoping pole for free on their website . This was all on the website so when I called in because I wasn’t getting the discount I was informed that dohenys doesn’t give the telescoping pole for free anymore. But I informed them it was on their website and that’s false advertisement. I didn’t get it as advertised so you will not get my business no more. Can’t support a company that practices bad business practices.

Frustrating to deal with. They do not stand behind their products. Purchased a sand filter and multiple port value unit which is defective and under warranty however they didn't honor the warranty. Also rep had a difficult time understanding and speaking English.

Doheny falsely represents it has tech support for its products but it does not,
No one who answered the tech line had any idea how the products work, in this case a solar reel, and they want to read the instructions to you over the phone which is absurd. The written instructions which came with the product are woefully inadequate to put it together or are the wrong instructions for the product. I will never order anything from this company again because it has no respect for its customers. stay away!

I’ve ordered from Donheys Pool store before and didnt have any issues. I placed an order over $1100. It stated at the time of purchase that it was NEXT DAY delivery. I checked FedEx the NEXT DAY to see when my packages are going to arrive. They haven’t even shipped?? I called customer service and they had NO reason as to why my order has not been processed. The customer service said my order would ship within the next 24hrs and now its the weekend. I wont get my package until Monday now. Next Day is now 4 day delivery. I tried to cancel the order because they dropped the ball and said I would just go spend the $ with a local pool company. To cancel the order I would have to pay a return shipment fee??? Your company never even shipped it?? How are you going to charge a return shipment fee when the products never left your warehouse?? I will NEVER order from Donheys again. Terrible experience and customer service is garbage. DO NOT RECCOMEND Donheys

I ordered a Hydro Broom and reading the reviews it looked like it was going to work well. Well this was false. I got the item and Doheny's didn't send me the all of the parts, so when I asked for them to be sent they said they would and never did. So I should have sent it back but I said I would try it out to make sure it worked. It didn't it didn't pick up hardly any sand on my stairs. and it kept spitting the leaves out. So when I call Doheny about the issue with the broom Customer care for the 2nd time would not help in the Chat they only said you need to return it when I asked for clarification on the long list of what can be returned and not from the chat they would not help me but only would say I needed to call. No help in getting my issue resolved. If it was just a mechanical issue that could be resolved with replacement, I would be happy but I no matter if I call or chat I would not get any help from anyone. So I tell you avoid this place and try to get your pool supply items else where.

Great customer service. The person I talked to was so helpful and courteous. He helped me get the right pool motor and filter. Throughly explained to me why I need to get the one he was recommending

I purchased a well pump IMPELLER .
I received this metal product in a plastic bag with no paper work. It was not the product i ordered. I called the Company on 5/15 and spoke with a lady (off shore) for more that 30 min explaining i received the wrong part , she informed me she would email the return information, it never came. On 5/19 i spoke with another man for over 45 min only to be informed i had to take a photo of the product. "I GAVE UP". They just don't want to refund my money. Don't buy from this Company.

Never again. Chargine 50% of the cost of a product to return an order made by mistake?! Nobody does this.

I just got done dealing with them and they have some of the most worthless customer service I have ever dealt with before in my life. Although, lol, the trend in customer service seems to be complete garbage and the last couple of years anyway.

I bought a small sand filter and pump from them about 3 years ago, and every year now I have had to replace plastic parts that keep breaking from the cold. It isn't like I'm in the Arctic though, I'm in Northeast Texas and it doesn't get extremely cold here for very long.

Aside from the parts on the filter being garbage, doheny's customer service is some of the worst I've ever dealt with. I had to replace the drain valve on the filter tank and when I originally tried to order the item, customer service first told me that they would need to create a support ticket, even though I told her that it was out of warranty and I wanted to purchase it directly. She then put me on hold and when she came back told me that it was out of warranty and they wouldn't cover it.

I told her I understood that and again explained that I wanted to purchase the item. She then told me that the item wasn't available any longer and I needed to buy a new pump, even though the pump that she was trying to sell me was the same pump that I have.

So I asked to escalate the call and spoke to someone who walked me through the process of looking up the manufacturer's part number in the filter manual, and provided me a part number for doheny's to order with. He stayed on the phone with me while I ordered the part and confirmed that I had the correct part, because I've been through this before with them where they sent me the wrong part.

When I received the part yesterday, it was apparent that it was for a different and much larger pump, so I called customer service to have them correct the problem. The customer service representative told me that the part I was looking for wasn't available and when I asked for a refund told me that they would only refund my money if I sent back the the part that they shipped me, and that I would be responsible for the shipping costs.

I told him that that was unacceptable and that I wanted to escalate the call, and he told me that there was no one available to take the call, so I contacted the BBB and PayPal in order to get a resolution. Another interesting factoid here is that their corporate phone number that is listed with both PayPal and the BBB for a means to contact for problem resolution is answered by an automated system that isn't set up correctly so no matter what number you punch in it doesn't do anything and after your third attempt it just hangs up on you.

I am of the opinion that Doheny should be avoided at all costs at this point, especially when I have found, after a brief Google search, another pump that is very similar for about 30% less through Leslie Pools.

customer service of offshore and very hard to understand, plus know nothing of pools or their products. Web site order is a joke. Wanted to ship to a job site but web substituted job site for billing address. FTH? Customer service said would take another 24 hour for their "Team" to fix. Didn't know if would get any kind of confirmation. So is shipment coming? When?
