Dobbies Garden Centres - Thornbury Omdömen 305

My partner and I visterd thornbury Dobbies. we tock our dog to the dinopaws advent. we visited on sat 11th April 2026. the staff at the advent were amazing,very kind and polite. we enter though an arch which led to the sand were hidden treats were placed for our dog to find them there was a little brigade that had smells for my dog to smell then an agility course, which was lovely. After that we tock our dog to see the dinosaur which he loved and we all sat and had a photo taken with the dinosaur on leaving our dog was given his own dog dinosaur,to which he loved and he was also given a dinosaur treat which he loved.i forgot to mention at the beginning we were given vouchers and a leaflet about the advent. The dinosaurs advent was very good and were definitely come back for more paws adventures .Thankyou again to all three staff for making this advent perfect in everywhere .

Wow, what an absolutely wonderful visit we had to see Father Christmas at Thornbury today. We picked the last slot of the day so it was nice and quiet and we were welcomed by a wonderful happy elf who guided us around the different little games that the children could play and the photo opportunities.
I wasn’t sure how well our 3 year old would take to it but he absolutely loved it and our 8 year old was so excited. Once we got to Father Christmas he was utterly delightful and chatted with them for ages and was telling them all kinds of things, they were mesmerised. We got lots of photos on our phones and didn’t feel rushed or like we couldn’t take pictures like some places and the lovely Elf took a more professional photo and printed it and we had it put in a beautiful snowflake shaker frame which we will absolutely treasure. I just wanted to thank the Elf and wonderful Father Christmas for making a precious memory that will last a lifetime for us and our children. I would absolutely recommend this beautiful experience.

I bought around £10 worth of Christmas decorations, one very fragile - to the extent that 3 on the display were already broken. At the till I asked if they could be put in a paper bag and the glass one perhaps in a bit of bubblewrap to be told that would cost me another 10p! I didn't have my Dobbies card with me but going on past experience asked if they could trace it on my postcard - to which I received an abrupt 'No'.
This morning I bought a decoration in a charity shop which was immediately wrapped without my asking.

Went there today with my friend and her little one had prebooked the soft play we arrived there was no where to check in for it so just went on in but clearly was not being monitored how many were in there was just a free for all. Once our session was up we decided to get some lunch in the cafe there this was also not clear how you were meant to order hot food the last dobbies I went to it was table service this time was nothing of the sort all the menus were in the tables you were meant to know as you approached the till so if you were on your own not sure how you would save a table and order your food. Then went into the garden centre itself there's was lots of puddles across the shop and stock soaking wet from the dripping wet roof. We will not be returning and will not be recommending. Some from of proper organisation needs to be put in place.

Regatta representative very rude, unhelpful and just awful.

Wanted to buy a coat today, it had a small mark on the front so didn’t want to pay full price as it might not come out when washed.

When speaking with Regatta’s rep an older lady who works the Friday shift I was told it’s not possible for a discount, when asked why I was told it’s new stock, when we asked if there was more stock we were told no, she also informed me that “well it’s Friday afternoon I won’t get a repose from my boss today” she was rude, very unhelpful and had far to much attitude.

I’ve never experienced such awful service.

We went to the restaurant at Dobbies Thornbury and it was very, very dissappointing. It was quite a busy lunch time and we just wanted a drink. I waited at least 5 minutes to be surved, and several minutes for someone to arrive and do he tea. There was crockery all over the counter where customers had cleared tables themselves .The gentleman who was serving me was complaining rather loudly about everything. We eventully found a table which we had to clear ourselves. For the whole time we were there having our drink nothing was cleared or wiped down. We
saw people leaving, giving up on trying to find any where to sit. It was busy but the atitude of the staff was appalling.

Always enjoyed dog friendly cafe, however it's not so dog friendly now. Tables have been moved into shopping area, where it is drafty and cold. Had to keep our coats on. Discussed with other dog owners who were equally disappointed with the situation and we felt the situation was discriminating toward customers with dogs . Excuse given was there wasn't enough room in the cafe.

Went to dobbies garden centre cafe 12.30 pm lunchtime today they have no cheese no chips they got no tea spoons so gotta have a long dessert spoon to stir your tea most of there food is served with cheese

We have been visiting centre for breakfast for 4 years now and the experience just keeps getting better every year. We sat down and our lovely breakfast arrived in minuets! The table decoration was lovely and we really enjoyed pulling some crackers together. Santa and his team were absolutely amazing and brilliant with our children who have additional needs. The main elf was super kind and let our children stuff their toys at our own table. Such a fantastic idea to help the elves finish stuffing the toys too. We cant wait until next year! Thank you Dobbies for an amazing Santa experience!

We visited Dobbies, Thornbury and purchased a fire pit as there was 20% off signs around the store. When we got home I noticed they hadn't deducted the 20%, not noticed at the time as we bought a few things. My husband popped back in and was told the 20% offer ended. I then called the store and spoke to customer service and was told the signs were left up in error and the offer had ended over a week ago. Her attitude was very dismissive and I was told they would not honour the reduction. Two emails to their main customer service and still waiting for a response. Will not be visiting again.

Don't Bother . Bad food And Not Very friendly Staff 🙃. Had Fish And Chips , Batter Was Awful . Maybe Cheap Oil used??? My Partner Had Lasagne, He ...Could Not Eat it... Yuk...Will Never Eat There Again ... Overpriced Too

Incorrect information was given to me by a member of restaurant staff , when I asked a specific question about special offers in the restaurant, costing me about £10.00 more on the final bill. Staff member quite dismissive, when I pointed out her mistake!

We love Dobbies.
We never fail to get what we want. Their stock is excellent quality. Their range of products is fantastic.
The restaurant is lovely and best off all its all dog friendly. This is a big plus for us.

Delivery was made the day it was booked.
Only small issue was the bolts to put the corner unit together were missing, which I had to replace at a cost of £3.50.

Helpful staff but the plant we wanted wasn’t available

There was quite a queue for the restaurant shortly before the end of lunchtime serving. There was just one lady on orders, tea coffee who was just brilliant against the odds. She made sure all those wanting food got their order in before the cut off by literally multitasking. She had some trouble with a staff member not liking being told to do something who then just walked out. Despite all this she maintained her composure and delightful manners with us customers. She deserves a medal. This just highlighted how understaffed the restaurant is which is a bit like shooting yourself in the foot as this helps bring in footfall. Our food was great but would have liked more of the salad choices on my plate with the sandwich.

I was able to find what I wanted. Also there was no queue at the till.

What is going on at this branch? Used to be very well stocked - now it looks like it's closing down. Hardly any plants and the interior sales area is half empty. Will not be visiting again until I have heard that it has improved considerably. The coffee is dreadful in the restaurant as well - just tastes like hot milk where they have obviously cut back on coffee beans to save money.
