Excellent....I got everything I wanted, the staff were very helpful and pleasant. U Thank you.

It is a nice shop, but the queues at the restaurant are always diabolical!! For 2 coffees we waited 15mns. Then I wanted some bird seeds and there were none, or the ones kept too expensive.

It was a very good day all the staff are pleasant and Helpful

Lovely store and staff, well layed out. A little expensive and always products with unmarked prices...

A good selection of gifts, plants and food. Pleasant staff.
Cappuccinos very good. Just a shame that the tables were not cleared. People were piling up trays and cups etc on the unused ones. We would have expected them to be cleaning and clearing frequently.

This review is for the restaurant as we had such a bad experience with Sunday lunch. The food, particularly the meat, was inedible. A lot of people were leaving their food too. Service is always slow too. Please improve this as we love to eat and drink on our visit to Dobbies but the poor quality of food and service puts us off.

Pleasant restaurant staff. Unfortunately when we visit always long queues in restaurant. If purchasing coffee/cake/snack have to wait behind those having full meals. Suggest quicker exit for those not eating meals. I have waited 30 minutes for a coffee. Staff work hard. Purchased plants and other goods last Friday and today. One staff member at checkout. Again long queues/long wait to purchase goods. No customer service point so all queries at checkout. Not fair on staff or customer. Unfortunately this is not just on event days but every time I visit.

What has happened to the atmosphere in the Shepton Mallet store? Why all the foodstuff, this is not what I go to a garden centre for. And as for queueing for an indefinite period on a Sunday, so disappointing, we left the store without buying anything & went to a nearby pub/restaurant.
This used to be one of our favourite places on a weekend day but not anymore - we shan't be rushing back there any time soon,

Once we found a staff member, he was very helpful and sorted my needs efficiently. For a shop open over the weekend though, more staff would have saved some frustration in trying to get help.

Excellent selection of plants and plenty of Christmas goodies to choose from.

Hi! We often use your restaurant, which we find excellent value with variety both for us & our grandchildren. Our recent visit was a challenge! I would like to make some constructive suggestions. The experience was disappointing because it was not clear where to order hot food, so we ended up waiting in the queue while staff seemed to serve others who arrived after us with sandwiches, etc. Then there was no more fish left, so we placed our order for one fish & chips with garden peas for my wife, and one fish with mashed potatoes & mushy peas, not a problem. Other customers in the queue were also getting stressed with the delays. We got our coffees, the drinks were not overly warm so we had already drunk these by the time our food arrived. When the food was delivered to our table the plates were not warm and my mashed potatoes had become chips!!! There was no point in complaining as we were on a schedule to be somewhere else! May I add that your staff are excellent! We often use the restaurant @ another garden centre in Yeovil, called Palmers, where we were this last Tuesday, for lunch. It occurred to me your problem @ Shepton Mallet is process!
Palmers is very efficient & service is smooth and timely They have one order point where the meals & drinks are entered onto the “till” and paid for. The order goes to the kitchen with your table number and when served is delivered to your table promptly. This seems to overcome all the disjointed flow processes that the Shepton Mallet Restaurant, seems to suffer from. May I suggest you take the time to visit Palmers to see if you could emulate their service, because I feel sure this would dramatically improve the function of your service, greatly help the staff, to do an excellent job, & satisfy your clients. Yours faithfully.

My partner and i were in the restaurant having coffee and food. A lady with three dogs was sitting besides us. One of her dogs deposited a large mess on the floor and she did not have anything to clear it with so she went and got some paper towels but did not use anti- bacterial cleaner. As there was 'open food on many of the tables this was very unhygienic and very disturbing. Why are dogs allowed into an enclosed eating area when they are not allowed into the Sainsburys food area, it makes no sense. This episode has put us off using your facilities

The staff in the garden centre and cafe are always so friendly and it’s useful having a mini sainsburys in the store. Easy parking, good range of products- prices are on the high side for a lot of items otherwiseI would give 5 stars
