Dobbies Garden Centres - Gloucester Omdömen 488

Popped into Dobbies in Gloucester on Wednesday to have lunch and what a disaster. Went up to order and was told someone would come to our table and take our order. I asked if I needed a spoon with a number on it and she said no it's ok they know you're third in the queue. Well 35mins later and after seeing people coming in and being served I went up to see a women at the till, Who I must say was very curt and said they know you're waiting you're on the list.She just carried on doing what she was doing, I looked at the list and it was literary scribble. How on earth could they know I was waiting when nobody took any information from me.It was utter chaos. The thing I don't like is being fobbed off and lied to.

Went for a wander around , ended up with some plants (of course ) used our card for a coffee and had to have cake too , could do with a few more gf options in the cake line , but very nice cakes

Unfortunately we were unable to have the scones, jam and cream.

Apparently nobody baked the scones that Monday morning so the scones which were advertised on a aboard inside the cafe wasn't available. I can only assume that also afternoon tea was not available. Poor service you must have had very disappointed customers all day.

Wanted to get something to eat in the cafe but it was very short staffed and a long queue again.
Really like Dobbies and the cafe but the ordering system has changed for some reason and its not working.looking forward to returning when problems are solved.

This absolutely disgusting it's July 30th a very busy Sunday and the young lady tells me no staff,,no staff why not,the amount of people in the qué is over thirty people,people with baby's, elderly people exspected to stand for next half hour because people hardly moving.i feel sorry for the young lady having to deal with very unhappy customers.all I can say things best not be off sale by the time my disabled husband gets to the desk it's absolutely disgraceful come on Dobbies get yourself sorted or we will all go elsewhere😡😡😡

coming from the south, or north, Dobbies at Haresfield just of the M5. large car park, and bus stop just out side ,thus very easy to get to. ideal size, and now with the convenience store adjoining ,very handy, we being members, have our free coffee in ,large dining area, and spend a few hours browsing, and buying, their products, nice relaxing time. in comfortable surroundings .

Warm welcome from staff in the restaurant fully explained that we could not purchase a breakfast due to supply shortage, but able to have a breakfast roll of which we had bacon and egg it was served hot and delicious.

Placed our order but once at the point of paying were told it was cash only as there was a technical problem. Its too late to inform people once the order has been prepared. No notice was given, verbal or physical. Luckily I was just about able to cover the cost with the loose cash in my purse, however, the coffee was luke warm and the whole experience was most disappointing.

Sat waiting with 2 kids for half hour to not even been served with a drink or have my order taken, because they go on table numbers so 3-4 people have been served and got there drinks and food I waited half another with my little boy starving in the end I gave up and we went to McDonald’s the customer service is so slow in there and the way they serve off table numbers is ridiculous!

The restaurant manager and staff were excellent despite not having enough staff on the day that our party of 38 had been booked for lunch

Disappointed with visit to the Haresfield branch today. I know it was a Monday, but when I ordered lunch at 1.30 my first and second choice was off the menu so I ordered scampi and chips, but I have never had chewy batter before!! When I and friends visited the same store last month, we had table service which made the visit a “cut above” other garden centres, but now they have reverted back to having to queue like a canteen and then to find out that what you wanted wasn’t available that also went for the sweets. We had originally gone for afternoon tea, but were told we had to order it the day before.

Nice range of products and prices. Friendly. Good value garden furniture bought and delivered very smoothly too

Restaurant staff brilliant!

Went today with my husband. We were hoping that service would have improved from our last visit in March.
We were wrong. We arrived just after 12 noon and queued for the restaurant. Menus placed in our hands by the dour waitress who was wearing glasses with pink lenses. She then told us to sit at table 36 and that she would come and take our order. That we were not given a choice of where we would like to sit should have already been a bad omen. At 12:13, the waitress still had not come over so I told my husband that if she did not come over in 5 minutes, that we should go. We did go in the end. The aforementioned waitress was still taking orders in the part of the restaurant that was by the plant area and did not look like she was going to be making her way to us soon. There was one other waitress, an older lady with short dark hair in the main area of the restaurant, but she was busy taking orders in the areas furthest from us. We went to the coffee shop area instead and ordered 2 cappucinnos and a cake. As we were walking towards the coffee shop area we passed 2 members of staff who were chatting and laughing in the area with more seating to the right. One waitress had red hair and was older, one had hair in a pony tail and was in her mid to late 20s. There was only one member of staff serving at the coffee shop, a lady who I think was Asian. No smile or welcome, just asked what did we want. There was nowhere to sit that was clean; all the tables had dirty dishes on them, so we cleared our table before sitting down. My coffee was tepid, my husband's was boiling hot. Why the temperature difference I do not know. The cake (a Victoria sponge) tasted bought, rather than freshly made. By the time we had drank our coffees and eaten our cake it was 12:42. We left and went out to the outdoor plant area and we could see that no one whose orders were taken ahead of us appeared to have any food yet. We spent about 10 minutes outdoors before coming back in. We passed the restaurant and noted that only one table had food. We thought that we would give the restaurant/ coffee shop another chance today. As mentioned above, we were last there in March with our daughter and had a horrendous wait in the coffee shop of about 35 minutes in the queue, then were served by very grumpy staff. I had complained back in March and would have hoped by now that customer service would have improved. It has not and the restaurant/ coffee shop is a big let down. I shall only be using the Food Hall and plant area, but never ever again to the restaurant/ coffee shop.

Great customer service love walking round as everything you visit there is always something new

Good cakes in the cafe, good you are able to take your dog into certain areas of the cafe now

Absolutely love Dobbies. I go there for pretty much all my garden needs, from a flower to a strimmer.

Love the fact you get two free drinks when you sign up to the dobbies card. Go there every month to get my deluxe hot chocolate!

The food can be hit and miss but apart from that, I love it. The golf is fun for the whole family and the kids soft play is always clean and tidy
