Dobbies Garden Centres - Derby Omdömen 505

First time of visiting the cafe here after being put off with huge queues on previous visit.
Will be our last one now as this is the quality standard of there tea pot and don’t even get me on the cup!!!

Well went to the restaurant ,not too many in queue.Ordered 2 baguettes I Ploughman’s and 1 ham and tomato.30minutes later still waiting! Asked at counter told be a few minutes.5 or so minutes later food arrived.However what was described as a ploughmans was actually just cheese and tomatoe.Once again queried at counter who checked with kitchen and came back with “that is a ploughmans”. This is not acceptable and whoever allowed this to be listed as ploughman’s should realise this is false trade description!
I have to say counter staff and waitress were all pleasant and indeed apologetic,and certainly not there fault.I also noted a table near us sent food back! and another table waiting long time requested money back as they could wait no longer.A disappointing visit and we were not alone in that!

Visited Dobbies Derby for my Birthday treat provided by Dobbies, the scones were dry and hard, the fruit were like bullets, very disappointed.

I visited Dobbies today at Findern. On a positive note the staff were working very hard and were rushed off their feet. I waited around 15 minutes in a long queue to be served at the cafe. I then wanted another drink and waited another 15 minutes to be served. This happens every time I visit. They need more staff in the cafe.

The loyalty card Dobbies offers is impressive and does its job in getting people onto the premises. We decided to have lunch at the Dobbies in Findern (Derby) and regretted it as soon as the plates were delivered to the table. In reply to the question of why the jacket potato appeared to be stone cold, the team (staff) member replied that the tuna on top was suppressing all the heat from the potato. This, of course, was completely untrue, although the skin of the potato looked to have had numerous rounds of reheating, giving it the appearance of a vintage leather football and the suppleness of hardened steel.
The accompanying coleslaw and ‘salad garnish’ combo would be more appropriately described as a duo of ‘scrag-ends’.
The experience provided more than ample justification for loyalty to stretch only as far as the coffee.

rude staff when we were checking out not willing to help with issues caused women at the till was rude and then when we had to get the supervisor she was even worse

Visited dobbies in Findern, Derby on Friday 13th June and was extremely disappointed with the quality of most of the plants. They were all very unloved and uncared for with a large proportion of them dry, dead or dying. I'm not sure if they've had a change of staff but based on this visit, after using these for many years, I won't be returning. Following this, I went to swarkstone nurseries and pleased that the quality of the plants were 100% better and the staff were all very helpful and friendly which was a welcome contrast from my visit at dobbies. Such a shame as it used to be such a nice garden centre.

Yesterday my mother attended your store and was exceptionally satisfied with the survice she received from a particular member of staff called Paul, who i believe works in the plant department.
My mother said he was so helpful and went out of his way to ensure she received the best customer care possible. She further explained that it was extremely busy and he still managed to attend all customers and didn't forget to relocate my mother whilst he helped other customers.
My mother further stated to me that it is imperative that this particular member of staff is praised for all i can assume him going over and beyond his expectations.
I agree that it is very rare to receive this level of service on todays world of retail.
I am writing on behalf of my mother as she has no access to put the above forward.
Please ensure he knows that the Asian lady looking for the large pink plant is thrilled with his service.

I took my 4 year old grandson to Dobbies to see Father Christmas. I went on speck and he was not there. Fair enough.
I got to the till, and asked the member of staff if she could tell me when Father Christmas would be there.
Her reply was...I haven't got the slightest idea, and merely told me the total of my shopping.
No, hold on, I'll just find out..nothing.
I made my payment and left.
I understand being a customer i probably interrupted her conversation with the cashier on the other till, but have never come across such rudeness at this store. Nor do I have any appetite to return.

I attended Dobbies at finderm Derbyshire. I spent 10 minutes trying to find a member of staff to ask if they had any PH soil test kits. I Finally found a lady outside watering the plants. I asked her if they had any soil PH kitts, and her reply was " have you looked in the plant food section " I replied yes but I couldn't find any, she replied " we haven't got any then " she said all this without even turning to face me and continued watering the plants.
I then joined the 20 yard long queue in the cafe for a hot drink where only one lady was doing her best to take the orders and payments then preparing the drinks.
At the tills I joined annother long queue as only one till out of 4 was staffed.
I also asked the lady on the till if they had any soil PH test kits and she said she had never heard of them and what were they, i explained what they were and she replied that she'd never seen anything like that so she presumed they didn't sell them. I've never heard of a garden centre that doesn't sell soil PH testing kits before.
I suggest More staff required at busy times and better training in customer service given.

For the past 6 months my local Dobbies Centre in Findern, Derby has been plagued with many issues which include no heating, leaking roof & lengthy queues sometimes taking more than 30 minutes to be served. As a result it has been difficult for me to use my free drinks allowance as no-one wants to sit in a cold restaurant with buckets placed to catch the leaks. My colleague informed me that her points are carried over each month when she does not use them and I have seen this for myself however when I questioned this with customer services they denied this. They failed to address the issues I raised and basically told me to use the the 2 free drinks per month or lose them. For 2 years running they have failed to provide the birthday treat (2 drinks & cake) and we had to specifically request this. Furthermore the play area has been closed for over a year and when it did open it has been shut more times than it has been opened.

Unfortunately I cannot endorse this branch of Dobbies and I will be cancelling my membership as I have lost 5 months of drinks and it is not worthwhile renewing when customer services are not sympathetic to issues that are beyond your control.

Brilliant and lovely atmosphere

Really well except for the time to queue and pay in the restaurant, staff work really hard but as I've noted previously the machines are too slow to vend.

Went to garden centre to meet up with a friend and her 2 year old as she played in soft play we decided to get some food and drinks. 1 person serving and line was horrendous, by the time I got to till they had stopped taking orders for food and 3 people trying to take orders - I ended up just getting scones and drinks and for little one crisps and drink which I didn’t understand as why couldn’t get a simple ham sandwich at 3 pm. Had to wait again while she went again to get a tea spoon - that took 2/3 mins ? The amount of tables that couldn’t be used was shocking as hadn’t been cleared and even when we left just after 4pm still not been cleared ? I really wouldn’t recommend cafe and won’t be returning.

Lovely afternoon tea and mothers day treat. The staff were very helpful and friendly throughout. Very Well presented and delicious with lots of tea too.

Very friendly staff and very easy to find what products you want.

Resturant service was very slow, every else was OK

Went for specific items in bird food range, but stock very low or non existent.

Very friendly.
