Dobbies Garden Centres - Boston Omdömen 509

Visited Dobbies restaurant in Boston 31/03/26.
After being kept waiting to be seated we ordered 2 drinks, a bacon roll and Pancakes with yogurt and raspberries on it.
Several of the raspberries were going mouldy. On pointing this out to a staff member she just said, “ Oh, would you like a few more raspberries?
Staff were also very unfriendly and looked as if they would sooner be somewhere else.
Not a place I would return to in a hurry.

We pass this place when we need to be in Boston and its still diabolical! Every time we call for a coffee we think it will get better, but it doesn't..sadly..the small café doesn't open till 10am (really?) And you have to go to the restaurant..
Ordering is slow, only one person on to take orders and greet new customers (needs 2 tbh) and slow to receive your order.If you just want drinks it would be better if they had a good coffee machine and someone wanting just drinks they can be served quicker as you'll wait ages because you go by orders in turn.
Decor is awful too..
The lights are so bright ..
How it stays open I've no idea.
We've been a few times and it is just the same. (We lived in hope) but sadly still appalling..we won't call again..what a massive missed opportunity 😢 as its on a main road and very busy. It needs sorting..

firstly re christmas our local dobbies boston tried hard they even got the dulux digby dog to come so kids could see santa and have pictures with the lovely fluffy dog (a real one) sadly i dont think there has been the footfall of kids around this year but it was a lovely try.
re the restaurant. i see quite a few adverse remarks and felt i would like to address some. we go frequently often several times a week. currently the team at boston led by Sarah are really friendly and helpful. its almost like a club as we generally see same faces so cant be bad or we wouldn't all keep regularly returning. not an easy job and as some mentioned probably not best paid but at boston they do try hard. i love soup and sandwich deal but often we take the pensioner £12 meal and cake deal which is a bargain. fish and chips is also really nice crisp batter and good fish not the white fish served in some places to save cost. there are peeks and troughs so its hard to manage the peaks and sometimes there a wait. they might say 30 minutes but its never been more than 10-15 for us. i think sometimes their supply deliveries let them down as occasionally some item not available but we are happy and keep going back as I said so do many others. good overall selection. excellent team

Customer Service are utterly useless; happy to take your annual membership fee but fail to change your home address on numerous occasions; of consequence all discounted vouchers, points and birthday gift go to the wrong address. When challenged 3 times, they simply say there's nothing that they can do and the vouchers have expired.... tough.... completely ignoring (with fingers in their ears) that the incorrect address on their system was failed to be set as Primary address twice; a manager in a store did it himself in front of me and explained where Customer service was going wrong and was shocked by how poor that was and explained Customer Service should honour past discounts as good will....(especially with the amount I spend at Dobbies over the years) But Customer Services simply say no...there is nothing that they can do....(space ships are starting to travel to Mars but Dobbies cannot do anything).... additionally, my account via Dobbies website and/or mobile app never works.
Utterly rubbish; took my membership fee and points collated for years and provided nothing in return.
Sod you then Dobbies membership and we'll start visiting another garden centre for plants, gifts and breakfasts from now on.

We missed breakfast by a couple of minutes but ordered fish goujon in a bun which was extremely nice.
The only improvement I would suggest is that when the waiter brought our food, he left without removing the used tray and cups, and menus. The table was very small so we had to eat with a very cluttered table while he left empty handed.

Went for breakfast this morning with family we had 4 traditional breakfasts. Two of us didn’t even have a full rasher of bacon and instead of grilled tomato they put two hash browns on instead but didn’t even speak to us only one waitress in the whole restaurant wasn’t offered salt pepper or sauces and they weren’t on any tables felt the waitress was to busy to disturb most disappointed

Visited on Monday 29th September for full English Breakfast? We won’t be visiting this Branch again?the young Lady who attended us in restaurant, and other staff there within the garden centre we found all to have an attitude problem! The Breakfast came, and the beans were strewn all over other items on the plate? So every thing tasted of beans? Not Good! Butter was served on hot Breakfast plate so when opened ran everywhere? On my Breakfast chewed a mouthful? And there within was piece of plastic wrapping? Complained to young Lady who took our order? She took my plate, to inform Kitchen staff? And never even came back to table with an apology! Or how this got in my meal? We feel having visited many Dobbie’s Branch, Boston needs to be addressed, and Staff there taught how to treat customers! We won’t be going back.

I’m not entirely sure what has happened to this garden centre. Lack of staff? Informed staff? General care about the plants? but I was shocked when I visited today both the food hall and the garden centre. Plant care needs attention, cleanliness of all areas, displays falling down. I’m a regular customer to here and it really shocked me to see such lack of attention to detail especially for the public to visit. Having recently visited the Dobbies site at Peterborough you can definitely see a distinct difference between each site. Please Boston Dobbies sort it out standards have dropped significantly in the last month.

My son ordered a breakfast it wasn’t very great it looked like it had all been cooked before hand and been sat under hot lights to keep it warm so it was all dried out, I had a bacon roll it would have been ok but was made with smoked bacon which I don’t like, I had to eat as I am diabetic and this was my breakfast.
Should have been stated on the menu what bacon was used.
I only managed to eat half on the roll.
Only good thing was the drink

Visited the garden centre today and went to the cafe and I've honestly never experienced anything like it. The greeting from the waitress at the front was shocking and rude and she basically said we had 20 mins and only certain items available. This was at 4pm and it supposedly closed at 5.30pm. The presentation of food and drink was abysmal and the staff were stood around rudely socialising and moaning throughout. I've never seen such a bad ambience in any place in my life and it must be down to bad management and training. Couldn't wait to leave and will never return to the garden centre ever again.

Just walked out of the restaurant after waiting 5 minutes at the entrance unnoticed and neglected by staff, a quiet day so there was no excuse for badly trained staff that fail to provide basic service

Not enough staff in cafe. Just one staff member greeting and taking orders. Her name is Emily but she stays calm and is very efficient.

Ordered a breakfast bap which had a hair cooked in with the egg told the young girl got no apology she then said they were making me another one when it arrived all the top of the bread bun was dry and broken up and the bottom was hard and stale emailed the store but no reply never wi I go there ever again

Just came back from Dobbies garden centre Boston. We took our grandson for a birthday treat,as he loves Dobbies and he wanted to go there for lunch. Never again! Waited nearly an hour for our meals. People coming in after us were getting served
I finally asked a lady where our meals were. She said we should have been told there was a 45 minute wait,which we weren't. Food came about 5 minutes later. My coronation chicken sandwich was horrible. My grandson had a cheese and tomato toasties,which he said was OK. Hubby had the haddock and chips. The fish was really anemic and not very crispy,and a meagre portion of chips. Would not recommend.

The cheese scones in the cafe are absolutely appalling. There is no cheese in the scones themselves, just a sprinkling on top. They are doughy, chewy, and a complete ripoff at £3 each. The cafe is also very cold. Johnstone’s, the previous owners, did it much better.
Oh, and the gents toilet pan was filthy.

We went to the Boston garden centre on Friday 3rd Jan to treat ourselves to lunch , we did notice that most people was sitting with their coats on ; there was no signs to say they had problems with their heating or wasn’t told that there was a problem with the heating . It was very disappointing, no problems with the food, but had to sit and eat our meals with our coats on , won’t be in a rush to go back !!

Booked a luxury afternoon tea as a special treat but it was very disappointing. Sat in a room away from everyone else and left totally alone, had to go and ask for more tea. Quiche was sadly very undercooked and the sausage roll was a small one cut in two. Didn't expect Branston pickle in the sandwiches

We went for breakfast. It was disgusting. A bap/bun with bacon, tomato and poached egg. The egg was undercooked and the tomato hard. The bun wasn’t appealing at all. Only ate the thin slice of the bacon.

The staff were excellent very friendly and polite and helpful
