Terrible Experience with DMKeith - Caused £6k in Damage to My Car
I had an awful experience with DMKeith that resulted in £6,000 worth of damage to my new car. They left transport blocks in the vehicle, which I only discovered during my car’s 2-year service with another dealer when it had over 10,000 miles on the clock.
Having those transport blocks in the car wasn’t just a safety issue—it caused serious mechanical damage. Several expensive components needed to be replaced, including:
Top mounts
Wheel bearings
Shock absorbers
Bump stops
Inner track rod ends
Steering rack and all related parts
DMKeith first accused the dealer of fraud, but after investigation, they eventually took responsibility and replaced the damaged parts. However, I was left without transport for most of the time my car was being repaired. I was told I could hire a car or take taxis at my own expense, which would be reimbursed, but this wasn’t practical or affordable for me. It wasn’t until later that DMKeith provided a hire car and gave me £500 in compensation.
Despite this, I would never use this company again. The whole experience was mishandled, and the stress caused was far more than I ever expected from a trusted car dealer. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Warning About D. M. Keith Suzuki Bradford – Poor Experience with Used Car Purchase
In August 2024, I purchased a used car with just 36,000 miles from D. M. Keith Suzuki Bradford. The vehicle had a full Suzuki service, a fresh MOT, and had even been previously used by the dealership themselves, so I expected it to be in excellent condition.
This was also my first family car, bought specifically to prepare for the birth of our first child. I wanted something safe and reliable, but instead, I was sold a car with hidden issues and received no meaningful support when problems began to appear.
Brakes:
After buying the car, I checked the MOT history and discovered that just five months earlier (March 2024), the vehicle had been flagged for worn rear brakes. This was not mentioned at all in the MOT provided by the dealer at the time of sale. After a lot of back and forth, they did eventually fix the issue, but only after repeated pressure.
Coolant Loss:
Not long after, the car began losing coolant. I took it to an independent garage, where I was informed that a sealing kit had been used on the engine, which is a temporary fix often used to cover more serious underlying issues.
When I contacted D. M. Keith Suzuki Bradford again, they refused to help, stating that the car was out of warranty. They also firmly denied ever adding sealant to a car themselves. Worse, they effectively accused both myself and the independent garage of causing the issue. Their exact words were,
"How do we know you or they didn’t do it? It’s just a he said, she said."
I found this response extremely disappointing and unprofessional, especially from a main dealership representing a brand like Suzuki.
In summary:
I purchased this vehicle in good faith from a main dealer, expecting transparency, quality, and support. Instead, I was sold a car that had previously been flagged for issues, and when further problems arose, the dealer chose to shift blame rather than take responsibility.
I am now without a car and out of pocket because of these unresolved issues, which has made an already stressful situation even harder.
I am sharing my experience to warn other potential buyers:
• Don’t assume a main dealer guarantees honesty or reliability
• Always check the MOT history yourself
• Get an independent inspection, even if the car is fully serviced and sold by a dealer
Based on my experience, I would not recommend D. M. Keith Suzuki Bradford, particularly if you are looking for a safe and reliable family car.

Booked test drive at Leeds (Holbeck)…
Booked test drive at Leeds (Holbeck) dealership over a week ago. Arrived checked in with receptionist and then nothing happend for.20 mins. Enquired and was told salesmen is busy with another client and maybe back ok n 15-20mins.
I'm missing the point of having a appointment system.

We asked the York branch 8 months ago for a grill for a seat Ibiza , get the usual right noises but still waiting on a reply , get passed to services . Who in turn don’t get back . My son is due a new car in December , we will NOT be coming back there . Customer service is shocking

I have been dealing with Matty in your Your Seat branch
with a view to purchasing a new Seat Arona.
Matty could not have been more helpful. Unlike a lot of salesmen that I have previously dealt with he was pleasant, mannerly and not in the slightest bit pushy. He took the time to listen to what I was looking for and provided me with different alternatives within my budget, never trying to encourage me to spend any more than I wanted.
Even at the end of the day when we decided not to make a purchase he understood and accepted our decision without any bad feeling or resentment.
He is a credit to your Company and I would have no hesitation in contacting him again if I needed another vehicle.

Labour costs have trebled?
My concerns are that the cost given for replacing the cambelt and water pump appears to have trebled since my service last year. They offered me a service plan 12 months ago, showing that the cost for this repair would be £610.36 this year. Shame I didn't accept it there and then!
So, today I booked my Ford car in online for it's 10 year service due in October and quickly received a call back. I was shocked to hear that the cost had increased to £2,000. I also have a Ringways Value card with the Leeds branch of DM.Keith and 9 years as a loyal customer. I asked them to look into it and they said they could reduce it to £1,800 and would give me 7 days to consider it.
After discussions with their management it was identified that a system error had given a generic price for a Skoda car, which was considerably cheaper than my Ford quote!
An apology for the confusion was finally received.
I would therefore recommend checking all costings on their service plan quotations, although they would have to honour any accepted plans...

Bought an Audi tt from Kyle at the ls11 BYD DM KEITH leeds branch. What a credit to the company. He showed me round the TT and left me to have a look. Didn’t pressurise me at all , took his time to explain everything , was so helpful and the main thing for me was , when he said he would call he did . Super , great service , felt comfortable enough to go back and buy the TT and everything Kyle said he would do,ie:- service fix anything that needed fixing he did. So Thankyou to DM KEITH for employing a wonderful chap , give him a pat on the back. Thanks a lot Cheryl

I was interested in part exchanging to an electric car and saw a car I liked on the DM Keith website. I was called by Simon who asked a couple of questions and we organised a meeting the following day, to have a look at the part exchange information and test drive the car. He suggested I reserve the car (paying a standard refundable £99) so no one can buy it in the mean time. At this point there was no pressure or hard sell.
The following day I test drove the car, asked a load of questions and started the paperwork to buy the car. Again there was never a point where there was a hard sell. He went through all the 'extras' that could be bought (GAAP and a range of covers for various parts of the car). I couldn't be flexible with monthly PCP payment so I left it with Simon to have a look at the numbers again. Again there was no pressure from him and we were able to agree on the numbers. I collected the car next day.
I've always found car buying stressful but this was easy. Even the part where there's a back and forth between buyer and sales man, with costs/cover etc
Simon, thank you for being so easy to work with. This is by far my best experience with a car dealer.

Bought my Byd from the Hull Depo never…
Bought my Byd from the Hull Depo never again wanted a pcp ended up on HP without my knowledge.
Orderd the car 12 weeks in advance of needing it was told it would be ready to collect on that date. Surprise surprise it did not arrive for another 8 weeks
There was no car handover (until I complained) non of what was promised on ordering the car was factual the full tank of petrol the full charge
All in all I'd never buy a car from Hull DM Keith again quiet possibly the worst car dealer in the UK

Really good company to deal with
Really good company to deal with. Chris Varley at the Bradford branch assisted me to buy a new Skoda Fabia. He was excellent throughout. When I first enquired, he got back to me immediately and spoke to his manager about sourcing another car in the same range which he managed to arrange the same day. Chris kept me updated about the delivery of the car and the other practical steps related to the purchase. If I called or emailed, he would always reply within the hour. When the car arrived, he did a video walkround for me which was assuring. Angelika Jankowska then dealt with the formalities on the handover day ie payment, registration and car tax etc. She also set me up on the Skoda App and explained all the car's functions. She was really efficient, friendly and helpful.

Excellent Customer Service – Visit on Saturday 26th July
Dear BYD Bradford Team,
I wanted to express my sincere thanks and appreciation for the outstanding service I received during my visit to your showroom on Saturday, 27th July AM. I believe the gentleman who assisted us was named Jake (apologies if I have the name slightly wrong).
He was extremely helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions – including some quite challenging ones – with clarity and patience. He helped to resolve all my doubts regarding both the Sealion 7 and the Seal models.
What impressed me most was his professionalism and genuine willingness to help, even after I explained that I would be placing my BYD order through a leasing company, meaning he wouldn't directly benefit from the sale. Despite that, he remained supportive, friendly, and informative throughout the entire conversation.
Thanks to the information and reassurance he provided, I’ve now placed an order for the BYD Sealion 7 and I’m excited to start this new experience.
Please pass on my thanks to this gentleman, and congratulations to BYD for having such excellent, customer-focused staff.

Very poor delivery of Lease vehicle
Hi, My son took delivery of a lease vehicle supplied by this garage on Friday 18th July. The delivery driver was extremely poor in all aspects.
I have leased many vehicles previously but never met anyone so poor.
He contacted my son at around 3pm that day and said the vehicle would be delivered at 5.30pm. We waited and waited and at 6.15pm my son rang him and was told he was still en route to collect the car, some 90 mile away from us! Apparently the delivery driver spoke extremely poor English and was hard to understand. He didn't apologise.
The car turned up at 7.50pm.
The driver was indeed very hard to understand, never apologised for being late, and couldn't explain why he didn't ring and keep my son informed of delays.
The remains of whatever he had been eating were still on the drivers seat. He had zero inter- personal skills.
He had no knowledge of the vehicle controls etc and made no attempt to try to explain.
He had no idea what was in the package in the boot-First Aid kit.
I have no idea why you would employ someone like this to represent you and this one experience would stop me from ever doing business with you again.
A terrible experience.
Complaint sent to garage with the usual we will get back to you. A week later and no one ever did.
Fantastic customer service
We just got our new Skoda elroq from the Leeds brand Andy who was our sales person was brilliant from start to finish and we wish him the best if your thinking of getting a Skoda this branch was amazing always keeping us updated on the status of our new car thank you d m Keith !

Poor service and missleading sales of a maintenance plan
I have a call from a lady from the site today (Skoda Wakfield) telling me that my Brake fluid change was due and kept trying to book the vehicle in.
1. When I purchased the fixed price service plan from you last year there was no mention that this would be excluded.
2. When I had the car serviced there was no mention that this was required.
3. The lady said that it would have been noted on my post service video, which was never provided.
4. The only feedback that I received post service was to check my tracking as there was some excessive wear on the front tyres, but no offer to complete this.
So in summary;
1. Poor selling of the maintenance plan. How it is a fixed price service plan if items are excluded, by age and the number of services included it was always going to fall due with the time.
2. Appalling safety miss when the car was in for service.
3. Then just an attempt to get me booked in again and give you more money for your mistakes.
I will not be back.
