Disastercare to the rescue
Disaster care contacted me the evening that the fire had been reported to my insurance company. David Gamble and his team arrived out the next morning and began the clean up. David was very reassuring and the team were marvellous. They salvaged what they could. The clean up left the rest of the house sparkling and the smell of smoke has gone. I now await the insurance go ahead to restore the seat of the fire. I have only praise for David and his team. Lovely guys at such a traumatic time. David is very contactable and answered my queries
Fabulous company in my experience.
I suffered a serious water leak over a…
I suffered a serious water leak over a long period under my kitchen tiles from a badly installed washing machine. Disaster Care NI were responsible for calculating the damage and lifting all the floor tiles. They installed several humidifiers and fans, came back a week later to remove them after confirming the floor had dried out. I was kept informed throughout the process and am happy that Stephen and his assistant did a good job.
Disaster Care NI experience …
Disaster Care NI contacted me immediately they were appointed by my insurance company in July. They set up their drying equipment within a few days and started the drying process. When, two weeks later, they were approved to remove my furniture and do the stripping out of the property they set a date and the number of days it would take. They arrived on time removed the furniture and started the stripping out. This was completed quickly and all the debris removed. The drying equipment was set up again. Steve kept me informed throughout of what steps he would take and what I could expect. His staff were efficient, courteous and knew exactly what they were doing. Today, 9 August
Steve arrived to test the dryness of my property. I'm happy to say the property is now dry and the numerous fans and dehumidifiers have gone. Steve and his team turned what had been a negative experience into a more positive one. I would have no hesitation in recommending Disaster Care NI.
Stephen from Disaster Care and his team…
Stephen from Disaster Care and his team were polite and engaged with us in answering all our questions. The dehumidifying was loud but only two weeks. Removal of cupboards and contents was effective and the return was also seamless. They also came back to put the cupboards and boxes back in the kitchen after the painters had moved them into the rest of the house. Thank you Stephen and your team
Disaster care Northern Ireland were…
Disaster care Northern Ireland were appointed by insurance company to dry out my ground floor following longstanding undetected leak. This was not straight forward and required dry injection drying. I found David and his team exceptional from the moment they became involved. Staff turned up when they said they would and removed kitchen / living room units and furnishings for storage. David and the team continued to monitor the readings and kept me updated throughout. There was always someone available and there was immediate responsive action if required. I would highly recommend this company.
Airdrie branch of Disaster Care.
If you are reading this, and this company have been tasked with looking after your property as part of an insurance claim, get a 3rd party survey done to double check they have done the work.
I was allocated them through Sedgwick after another company Belfor were side lined. I trusted them at first but wasn't happy when on 3 occasions I had to switch off dehumidifiers as the tanks were getting full. They also told me that my large items of furniture my bed, mattress, and sofa would be taken into storage whilst treatment following a raw sewage flood took place.
They also didn't lift my bathroom floor properly leaving the plywood layer. My toilet flooded my flat after a biblical thunder storm.
I didn't trust that the work had been done to standard even though they issued a dry certificate. I got my own survey done outwith the insurance company, and it came back that the readings were still too high and there was no evidence of an antifungal treatment that had gone down.
Katie in the office was just lovely and very patient as I was upset and mentally exhausted after my home being flooded by my toilet, but any contact I had with David and Jamie had a smattering of indifference.
You think that getting insurance work done, the best of the best would be in attendance. Keep your wits about you.

Excellent Service From DisasterCare Cotswold
DisaserCare Cotswold arrived at our property with 48 hours of our claim for water damage being raised with our insurers.
James and his team installed fans and dehumidifiers to begin drying the property, in addition they suggested we look for alternative accommodation and guided us through the drying process at all times.
They were very proactive to ensure the property dried as soon as possible.
Each visit was timely with a call before arrival to ensure we were at the property.
Special thanks to the ladies in the Stroud office, for their telephone professionalism and understanding during a very stressful time.

The tall Scotsman who did the work on my snug after fire damage, was professional and quick. I was impressed by the way he single-handedly removed the heavy furniture. All done with a smile and cheerful manner. Highly recommended.
Airdrie branch of Disaster Care
Our insurance company put us in touch with Disaster Care due to a leak in our kitchen. My first contact was with a call handler called Taylor who was very professional, helpful and personable. She even managed to make me laugh when I felt like crying. She subsequently said she would arrange for a technician to come out and source the cause of the leak.
The technician (Jamie) arrived as planned. He soon established the root of the problem and talked us through what would happen next. During our conversation we discovered that he was one of the company directors and due to the volume of work following three storms, he had returned to the “coalface”, not only to help out his colleagues, but also to save customers waiting. This demonstrated to us that this company was invested in everyone’s best interests. We can’t emphasise how impressed we were.
I have since spoken with another call handler called Samantha, who once again was really helpful. I have never had to wait to speak to somebody as the phone is answered almost immediately. I really thought that this level of service was a thing of the past.
Underfloor leak
Brought in by insurers to dry out an extensive ground floor underfloor leak. Prompt effective service by the two young men that came to check in at various points over a 6 week period. They had to advise on the drying process and were patient in advice and recommendations.
Have to admit these guys are good
Have to admit these guys are good. Dropped off fans and dryers, tested and kept in contact. Our third time flooded so we helped by ripping the carpet out.
The more you get out the faster it dries.
Bad experience
Turned up late, carried out a list of damaged items (supposedly). Took out wet carpets but left soaked furniture in the property for weeks, dehumidifiers installed but not effective because the furniture was still soaking wet. Finally had to remove soaking wet furniture because the smell was so bad from effluent. Soaked wooden flooring left on the floor which common sense should tell you that it will never dry out while still in situ. Could go on and on, but if they turn up at your property, turn them away. The first part of their name is accurate .
Appalling and staggeringly poor service…
Appalling and staggeringly poor service that has left my young family without heating or hot water for days during an Amber weather warning for exceptionally cold temperatures. Persistently misled us and kept telling us that an engineer would fix the issue (after several diagnostic visits by bemused , uninformed and unqualified engineers) only to be told 5 days after the heating and hot water failed that they would not be proceeding with our claim.
Uncaring and dismissive call centre staff who didn’t ever grasp the seriousness of the situation. Unclear and obstructive escalation process that has blocked every attempt to reach a solution.
I will be making a formal complaint and urge readers of this review to reconsider using this unprofessional company.
Post flood survey
I know there are a number of negative reviews for this company but I can only speak as I find.
After our house flooded we had one of their team, (Rhys ) visit us, he was thorough, informative and very understanding of the situation we faced. We felt reassured. I would also like to say the information and support provided by Josh at Aviva has been excellent

Can’t thank disaster care enough for their help and support during such a difficult time. We got flooded and have lost nearly everything
Kevin Shields has been absolutely amazing and has made the process bare able. Can’t rate this company enough
Very professional job
Following a burst pipe, Dave, Howard and Jake came out to assess the scope of the leak (which was mega). They came back to dry out the house and treat the black mould and came a couple of additional times to check progress and report back to myself/ the insurance company. The team was incredibly efficient, helpful, fun and did a very professional job. Thoroughly recommend DCP.
Theft, Deceit, Damage
I was stolen from, no closing inventory , lied to, extreme damages to my returned goods. Hard goods weren’t covered to be protected damage is horrific, caught delivery guy trying to steal behind my back upon returning my personal belongings. Designer clothes shrunk, feel like sandpaper from chemicals, clothing damage grand theft. Breach of contract handling my case implemented by AVIVA. Avoid like the plague unless you want insult to injury after losing your home to a fire like I did or otherwise. It’s broken my heart and everything I had left ruined and stolen. It’s made me unwell.
