I am in the process of taking over my mom's finances and your customer service team made it really easy for me to understand her Delaware Life pension and my options for managing it going forward. I never had to punch a bunch of data into an annoying automated phone system, I never waited for a human for more than two or three minutes, when I was transferred it was always a "soft transfer" where the original rep stayed on the line for the (short) hold time. You guys are NAILING it on providing a quality customer experience and I bet you are also operating more efficiently than your overtechnologized peers. Kudos!

Dont buy this. You will have a very difficult time getting any portion of your money back. They don't listen well. If you die, tell your beneficiaires, "Good Luck".

5/21/2025 I have a 401k with delaware life I have been trying to get it sent to Merrill lynch. It seems that this garbage company holds your money hostage because there so desperate they can't afford to lose customers.

I have been trying to move my money out of Delaware life for over a month I have done everything they wanted and every time I call to see what the status is its something new ever time. It seems they want something new or different each time you call.

Theres No one from management to talk to it takes days to find out if what you sent was what they will accept

This place is nothing but a complete nightmare to deal with nothing is as simple as it is with other companies

Do your self a favor and stay as far away from this company as humanely possible it should not take 3 weeks of nothing getting moved/done. no one to help move your money out of there hands

1. Seeking information regarding my annuity. Cannot get a response!

2. Last year requested a distribution in accordance with my contract and it required 2 months to receive MY MONEY!

After canceling Fixed Annuity within allowed time Delaware Life took their time to return my initial deposit took them more then half a month.
After complaining they never bothered responding.
Was expecting better from company that has been in business for long time.

Because Delaware turned my bond fund into an IRA when it bought Compass-SunLife in 2016, without my permission, I have to pay taxes on $23,000 instead of $7,000 in gains (over 36 years! That's what high management fees do to you). I can't prove they didn't tell me it had turned into an IRA, so I'm out of luck. In addition, it was very hard to get the money out of Delaware when I needed it and I had to jump through all kinds of hoops. Beware of this company.
