Before I entered Iran I was in touch with Arya to affirm the cash amount. Next morning after arriving I’ve met Milan at my hotel who brought my bank card and phone sim-card. After couple of minutes of checking I’ve got everything I needed - no cash anymore but bank card and installed sim with internet. Very fast and very handy. I had no problem with using bank card either by paying everywhere or withdraw cash. And excellent mobile signal that kept me staying in touch.
Have to mention the “welcome pack” I’ve got - Persian sweets and saffron, that was so cute!

It took a bit to get in contact, but after we made contact through WhatsApp everything was really smooth. Arya came to our hotel in Teheran to bring our DaricPay Card and SIM Card. Arya of DaricPay had all the time to explain us the debit card, learned us to read the local numbers and configured our phone with the Iranian 10 GB Prepaid SIM Card. We went to a ATM where we could check the balance, change the Code and the Internetcode (PIN2).

First after 2 weeks we really had to use cash because we lost our card. In other words: in Iran you can pay everything by card, even when you want to buy chewing gum from a guy walking through the metro.

As said we lost our card, which we are able to block in the Android App. We contacted DaricPay about the los, they arranged directly a replacement card with a local branch in Isfahan. At the branch they were well informed about us coming and within 15 minutes a new card was issued.

The only thing to be aware of is that the most of the hotels and guides have fixed prices in euros and like to be paid in euros. So if you put also money on the card to pay hotels and guides and the exchange rates changes, it all can get more expensive of even cheaper.

Sfortunatamente siamo arrivati a Tehran in un giorno festivo e abbiamo avuto difficoltà a ritirare la Debit card in aeroporto. Il supporto però è stato fantastico e ci ha recapitato la card direttamente in hotel la sera stessa. Il referente ci ha consegnato la card, dato alcune nozioni sui numeri farsi e sulle valute e lasciato alcuni piccoli doni di benvenuto (apprezzatissimi).
Abbiamo utilizzato la card sia per pagare direttamente i negozianti che per prelevare dagli ATM.
Viaggiare senza tanti contanti (cosa a cui nemmeno in Europa siamo abituati) è stato comodo e molto pratico (POS e ATM sono diffusissimi), ma la cosa che più ci è stata utile è poter monitorare istantaneamente il nostro budget e ricevere notifiche puntuali per ogni tipo di movimento.
Noi non ne abbiamo avuto necessità, ma la card è ricaricabile dal proprio home banking (es. paypal).
Ultima nota: dagli ATM è possibile prelevare quotidianamente massimo 2.000.000 rial.

When I arrived in Tehran, I couldn’t even imagine how easy paying in Iran was going to be. Where other tourists are struggling with pales of money billets or trying to hide the loads of money in their backpack, I simply had all the money in my bankcard. After arranging this card online, it took only half an hour in the hostel to put things into action and after that I had a working bank card, which even is usefull in the most rural areas of Iran. I truly recommend Daric, it is a very convenient tool to use in Iran. Daric is accepted literally everywhere, from street vendors to shops, from restaurants to hotels. Easy to use, easy to register, with excellent customer support. I used it for my three weeks vacation and was very happy with it.

I spent two weeks in Iran in October. There are problems with currency exchange (Iranian Rial has a very low exchange rate against the Euro for example so you need to have a lot of local banknotes) and lack of global payment systems as Visa or MasterCard.
DaricPay made my journey easier regarding payments. There is possibility to order DaricPay card before your trip and you can get it in airport after arriving. They also provide a special application that you can install on your phone. It's comfortable to control your payments using it.
