Customer care is ZERO
When you try to claim you get stupidity put as a response when your claim hanfler is on leave the other person who takes over does not lookj at the claim history or anything in the past and makes mistakes. The company does not handle customers with respect and I will be reporting the issues to the Finanacial Ombudsman

First class service. I crashed my DJI drone on Sunday 16th April 2023. Flying sideways across a rocky valley wall I messed up. The drone was unrecoverable.
Contacted Coverdrone on Monday, response immediate. A few formalities, proof of ownership, video of event, flight record, Drone Pilots licence and registration data and we're good to go.
New drone obtained Tuesday, quote accepted and in flight on Wednesday.
The payment was in my account on Friday morning.
Can't rate them highly enough. Melanie Aldred was the adjuster I dealt with and was more than helpful.
Yes, I spent a little of my own money as well and got a better drone! Cover for that drone? Yep, with Coverdrone... at NO EXTRA COST.

Claimed to provide commercial drone insurance, however, after being unable to charge my card for a monthly premium, they cancelled my company's policy less than 24hrs later. They said I could set up a new policy but that this would have a new policy number which would then need to be reported to the CAA.
Avoid at all costs. Certainly don't treat you fairly as a customer. Claims process is confusing and keep asking for additional information and changing the goalposts. Staff are rude and unhelpful and their Directors think they are better than you and won't speak to you or even call you back! Was promised that my claim would be paid on Monday and I'm still waiting. I get concerned when everyone at the company has the same surname, so you get family members investigating other family members, how on earth will this be fair. AVOID at all costs!
Can’t rate this company enough, great communication from Melanie letting me know every step of the process from start to finish and turned around an insurance claim within a week.
Would like to think I won’t be using them again but who knows. Thank you Melanie and Mel.

I’ve not had to claim which means I can’t judge them on that.
Their insurance does seem comprehensive and appears to be well regarded. My only gripe is that on renewal, I rang to ask if the renewal quote could be reduced even by a small amount as a) I rarely fly and b) I am a skint retiree!
They said no. Pay it or not “it’s your choice”.
Can’t argue with that 😂
Please note: they don’t accept PayPal which is surprising. Not everyone likes to give credit card details online.
You can really only rate insurance after you've had to use it. So on Saturday I lost my drone, Monday I spoke to Melanie Aldred who asked me to send two additional bits of info. Today is Wednesday & my drone has been replaced. I think as long as you provide everything asked for, and they were totally reasonable about what they wanted, and as long as you weren't doing anything you weren't supposed to be doing, then the claim will be dealt with quickly. Thanks Coverdrone & Melanie for a service second to none
Avoid, terrible service. Keep getting locked out of account even when using correct credentials. Getting emails saying I haven’t paid when I have. I wouldn’t trust these if ever had to make a claim. There are much better companies.
**UPDATE**
Due to confusion and misunderstanding, further conversations and such. Coverdrone have come up trumps and agreed to cover my drone and pay for the damage. This update supports my title on this post.
A couple of weeks ago i put my Mavic Air 2 into a tree.
Prior to going out that morning I remembered that my drone insurance had expired and i had to renew it. I did that at about 09:19, paid by credit card and it showed on my statement as ‘pending’ which is normal.
I went out flew and had the accident. Rang the insurers and explained i wanted to claim, they said they had no record of the cover, I pointed out it was still on my credit card statement as ‘pending’. They said OK we’ll get the ball rolling.
Drone collected by DPD, delivered to Heliguy for assessment and repair…so I thought.
Today I get email from Coverdrone (the insurers) saying I was not on cover after all.
Seems like they didn’t take the funds as expected after I pointed out i wanted to claim.
£426.00 repair bill for me now.
It’s true, you only know how good an insurance company is when you try to claim.
Caveat emptor I guess?
cannot fault Coverdrone enough, my drone had a malfunction while in Thailand crashed into the sea, I also lost my controller during the incident as it went overboard, the drone was recovered, but not the controller (£879 Lost) but immediately as soon as I filed the claim, the staff were friendly and helpful, asking all the questions and giving me all the documents to fill out, the process was very quick and easy, they even offered me to pay a fee to cover the cost of the replacement controller even though my excess only covered the drone, the price was very fair @ around £250 to get the controller replaces as well given the cost of the DJI RC-PRO, I actually declined this offer because I was so short on funds and travelling, in hindsight I would have borrowed the money to pay it off but that was my choice not to borrow to pay, so again I cant fault Coverdrone on this as well, above and beyond service.
I paid my excess for the replacement drone and it was dispatched the very next day and received 24 hours later.
I only had 1 months cover as I was only travelling for a month so it really was such a good idea to be insured as my mavic 3 is £1899 on its own, I have recieved my replacement and will now be using coverdrone again with a yearly subscription based on their excellent handling of my case, many thanks
5* and would give more if I could. I'm a little dubious with insurance (at least as far as vehicle cover is concerned), but here in drone land Coverdrone have been fantastic. No issues, very friendly and helpful customer service too! I'll be using them for a long time to come, and hopefully I'll be more careful with my drone from now on! I can see why they get very high marks across the board!
