I am so sick and tired of being treated like a stupid little child by cgl chichester West Sussex I've been a client with them for nearly 20 years and I can honestly say that they have never done anything positive to help me, basically I have been left to my own devices because they just can't be bothered to even pretend to be interested in helping anyone, recently I suffered from a nasty bug and was unable to get to the chemist to collect my meds and of course miss 3 days and the script is stopped...great I phoned on Monday to get help from my keyworker and have heard nothing back they don't care that I am now in the situation where I have had to do drugs to keep me well and of course if they do decide to put me back on a script they expect me to get to the chemist daily which means that I will have to pay 26 quid each day for a taxi due to the fact that I am disabled and I can't afford that I'm at my wits end with their lack of support or experience they don't care about anyone who has an addiction they get paid to ignore the situation and we suffer.

I was refused a holiday prescription on the basis that I “could get anything I needed over there”. When I said I wouldn’t know because I’d never been there, I was told “trust me” BY THE DOCTOR.
I USE THIS SERVICE TO HELP ME ABSTAIN FROM ILLICIT SUBSTANCE ABUSE. NOT TO BE ADVISED THAT I SHOULD SEEK OUT THESE SUBSTANCES WHILE ON HOLIDAY.
This place is shameful.
For the sake of vulnerable individuals such as myself, please help yourself and STAY AWAY AT (almost) ALL COSTS

I was told to speak to a nurse, I did so and she reported me to social services for things that I never said, thankfully my carer was present at the time and I recorded the entire meeting on my phone (they were obviously not aware of this). I was able to prove the nurse made up fabrications and lies instantly but I will NEVER go near CGL again. Have made an official complaint using their website. There is NO excuse for this. Do NOT use this organisation, there are others out there that won't do this sort of thing and actually care about helping people rather than making themselves feel good.

I referred my fiancé to the CGL branch in Hatfield, Hertfordshire for help with a cocaine addiction which he has had for years. When he attended the branch for his first appointment he was assisted by a young lady called Charlotte, also known as Charlie. This girl decided it was appropriate to hand out her personal number to my fiancé, to which they have been sleeping with each other behind my back for months. Now not only does this go against any standards of conduct, work performance and expectations and ethics!! But it does make you wonder the type of people they have employed at this work place and their moral compass, you send your loved ones to this organisation under the impression they will assist and make your life better by helping and turns out they turn your whole life upside down. Hope it was worth it girl!

CGL Cambridge is frankly a shocking example of a charity that don't really understand the demographic they are their to help, what makes that worse is the fact most key workers have come from some sort of addiction issues them selves.
my partner has been with CGL for over 3 years and still no rehab. She is now on her third key worker, the first 2 were not good at all. the second one even said if we lose someone we lose someone thats the way it goes, but still done nothing to help even with the dangerous situations my partner gets in.
To be fair her current key worker has actually been very good. but I down to there procedures, I think they are limited to the degree on help as they have their hands tied with this one size fits all method, which clearly does not work. my partner has multiple issues and yes she is not the most reliable of people, but that goes hand in hand with people with addiction/mental health.

unfortunately due to mental health and addition the NHS wont help because they use the addiction as there get out of jail free card not to help. between the CGL and the NHS who have the power to help and change someone's life for the better and don't use it is beyond me.
key workers keep going on about taking things to a panel, which I'm pretty sure is something they tell family and loved ones, to make it look like they are doing something, I don't think this panel even exists.

CGL please start helping. clearly she not the only one getting bad treatment after reading all the other trust pilot reviews.

Someone close to me finally plucked up courage to call; only to be hung up by moody receptionist. So disappointed and no idea the impact this has. Do not work in this organisation if you are going to treat people like this.

No one answers the phone. I've been trying to rearrange an appointment for a WEEK

I applied for a volunteer role with these people, I went to a lengthy interview with first one then two interviewers, I thought it went well but of course it’s entirely possible that someone else they interviewed was more suited to the role and or had more experience than I, I had no previous experience but was told that that was fine, the thing that shocks me is that after the interview I was told I would be contacted with an answer by a very specific date, that date passed with no communication from these people, to this day, several months later, they have not had the courtesy to even thank me for attending the interview, remember this was a volunteer role. If this is the way these people treat potential volunteers one has to wonder about the level of empathy and care they show to people who come to them for help, frankly I’m glad I found out their true colours early on and never got more involved with them, shame on them for their utter disrespect of those they primarily rely on to deliver the services they offer and I urge any potential volunteers to tread very carefully and perhaps more importantly to those those who are seeking help of the type this company purports to offer I strongly suggest looking for an alternative charity, there are many reputable ones with names that are well known, this in my opinion is not one of them.

COVENTRY BRANCH IS A DISGRACE team leaders useless non medical prescriber is incompetent. Staff sit around swearing and gossiping about each other and clients. No training. Disgusting pkace

I am not 100% sure but in my area they used to be called BDAS. I think they changed their name because of bad online rewiews. My husband desperately needs a medicated detox as quick as possible because he is self employed. Spoke to this man who was aggressive from the start - refused to answer my questions and gave me little information about how the service is run. I could not see him - but I imagined him to look like a club bouncer. His loud aggressive voice frightened the life out of me. This CGL is in the London Borough of Bromley. If you know who this man is and you are his employer - please educate him about being polite to vulnerable people. A nice man from 111 said that they would contact CGL again and ask them for help for my husband. I never got a call back. What a disgraceful company. They should be shut down immediately. it's obviously run by people with no empathy.

Awful place that doesn't help anyone addicted to drugs especially as one of the staff members sells drugs to service users. Inspire Fleetwood is currently under Investigation for this.

After having an interview with Harjit I was then promised several career options and they had also promised not only the job but also the highest rate without me being up money (I have the emails as proof), I gave a week's notice and all of a sudden they have emailed Apricus (recruitment agency) that they are going with someone else, after giving me the job. There was no reason, no direct contact with myself, they even delayed giving Apricus the start date. They made all these promises and threw it in my face. Luckily I hadn't handed in my notice, not that CGL would.have cared clearly. If this is how they treat people openly wanting to get work with them I can only imagine what they put service users through.

Incompetent, useless and lies.
Go through tender agree to move ahead with projects, then change their minds.
Now refuses to pay our cancellation fees.

I am absolutely too scared to tell you the truth and I have deleted everything. I don't know about you but a problem isn't really a problem to me until it is something that I am either unable to explain or unable to trust anyone with. The lack of communication causes symptoms; unjustified burden and emotional disturbance.

The company can improve by trying to keep passionate keyworker and not firing them for helping a troubled vulnerable addict

Absolutely disgusting and shocking support workers they’ve made me relapse twice now for not making the correct interventions,If you need help with any substance abuse I wouldn’t use these you will get nowhere other than back to square one.this is regards to Nottingham and Mansfield branches.

OPEN LETTER TO CEO OF CGL MARK MOODY AND ANY CEO WHO COMES AFTER HIM.

As a husband of an employed CGL worker who has been sober for 4 years but has recently replapsed while still employed by CGL , I FIND IT ABSOLUTLEY ASTONISHING that this company who to their credit do employ lots of former addicts in their ranks that they do NOT have any health insurance back up for their workers .So in essence they employ alot of former addicts to treat addicts but dont give them the reassurance that should they fall by the wayside themselves after giving back their time and effort and knowledge to help others , there is anything there for them .
My wife is an alcoholic , who has had to now wait weeks for detox treatment and then poss rehab , top companies have health insurance schemes for their employees for this . Im well aware that this poss costs alot of money but your a drugs liason team employing mostly ex addicts , why is this not a standard to support your employees so they can get next day private treatment as a thankyou for their knowledge and support on a health insurance scheme for employees.
Its utterly shocking that they are basically in with the crowd and having to wait weeks and never get there and end up in hospitals where some staff esp younger inexperienced nurses have little patience for drug abusers and let the patient know this as well .We have experienced plenty of nurses telling my wife of how much this is costing the nhs , as if she doesnt know anddoesnt feel guilty enough , but nurses being like this shows how inexperienced they are at dealing with addicts and addicts needs specialist treatment facilities if there to get better .
Why maybe isnt the goverment backing this as they get enough VAT of booze sales from the supermarkets ???
Its not hard to guess who i am , i am in the mansfield area if that narrows it down abit Mr Moody if you want to contact me feel free while your enjoying your annual pay and my wife cant even get in a decent rehab unit very quickly through your company uttery shocking and ridiculous, its want sorting for ALL CGL EMPLOYEES . I would implore all managers and senior figures within CGL to bring this up at your meetings as you might be the next one in my wifes position ......god forbid .

The one in southport is A excellent organisation that helps people in addiction and crisis they support there service users and staff wich shows because all the staff there are very friendly helpful and very knowledgeable

CGL Manchester. Wow, what a shocking service overall for alcohol addiction. Now saying Mcr is a large city I am shocked at the lack of support, involvement & family support. In comparison to Salford alcohol support.
A family member was referred via GP. Initial meeting was good, they took on board our family concerns that we presented. However counselling was not offer & no support for the family members struggling. Despite on numerous times they said they would refer us to family support it has never happened despite our desperate plea & pur family member has been discharged from the service.
I totally appreciate that as a professional you go off what the client/patients tells you & if they are not being honest then there isn't much that can be done. But when clearly the family are concerned, aware of continuous denial, lying, hiding & causing many problems for us to the point that we only see darkness, and want to help & share our concern. They turn around & tell us to back off, because that ia stressing them out more. Oh well ok sorry for trying to prevent an accident with the car, or losing their job or other fatalities. So we should just back off and let them destroy their life & ours....ok thank you very much for you "help". So when the worst happens, I will be personally blaming the individual & the service for the shocking & disgusting lack of support. No wonder this country is so messed up

CGL is an amazing organisation. I attend STAR in Hastings and as a recovering alcoholic and addict I struggle with anxiety and depression. When I go to STAR, those fears disappear. Everyone is welcoming and friendly. The counselling and support workers are helpful and knowledgeable. There is a wide range of direct support or help to get the support you need at any point in your recovery. I am so very grateful for this service.
