An Extremely Satisfied Customer
From the first phone call to the sign off of the scope of work, I was overly impressed. The communication was outstanding and when the team arrived to deep clean the commercial kitchen, they knew exactly what to do. In fact, they went over and above the scope of work and identified and addressed areas that would otherwise have been ignored. The team arrived and immediately went about their business. No chit chat or time out. The commitment to the job at hand was impressively. More importantly the commercial kitchen was unrecognizable after the team had completed the job. An outstanding job and I will have no hesitation in recommending CHS. Well done and thank you.

We ordered a £5,000 ice cream display…
We ordered a £5,000 ice cream display with this company. Before ordering we got in touch to check they had stock, they confirmed they had. We place the order straight away (1 min later), sent them the best-art of £5k. Next day order cancelled and no reasonable explanation or apology. We phoned them and again no reasonable explanation or apology and no urgency to refund "it will be with you when its processed...". A waste of time and such bad customer service. They either lied about stock or were incompetent. Avoid this company! and do what we did and paid a little more to a proper company with service and reliability. Saving a few pounds definitely doesn't pay when using Catering Hygiene Specialists.

AVOID THIS COMPANY - USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! I ordered an ice machine from them. They package it in a way that when you open it you cant move it as its all strapped up! they advise to check it for damages and report within 24hours. My wife took delivery of this and i cheked over the box as requested but there was no damages to the box. I didnt realise they meant strip the whole thing down and out the packaging and report any damages within 24 hrs. The unit has a massive dent in the side which i have evidence it clearly there behind the delivery sticker they tried to conceal the damage with! Deceitful and dishonorable business. They have sent out a damaged machine nearly £400, hidden the damage on the box with the delivery documents (from their factory not the courier company) and then refuse to do anything about it as its not reported within 24hrs! I just wanted a replacement but was basically told to go do one!! DISCUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE AVAOID AT ALL COSTS

If it is not inspected and reported within 24 hours, the courier and our supplier will take no accountability for this as it cannot be determined whether it was damaged in transit or not.

Bought a freezer 6 months age
Bought a freezer 6 months age. It went wrong and they just handed over to another company to handle repairs. I’m still waiting 4 weeks later and all I get is there waiting for parts. This company wants nothing’s to with once you’ve payed for the goods

I have bought a freezer for £3600 and is faulty and they are fobbing us off saying it should be reported straight away and they only sold parts only, they do not understand the freezer is just unpacked and is faulty

We are sorry you feel this way, unfortunately when purchasing the unit you only selected parts only warranty which does not include labour. In this instance you would need to get your own engineer out and send us over the engineers report, from this we would send out any parts required.
Faulty goods/Terrible CS
I too had a fridge delivered that did not work. They do not understand their duties under distance selling and tried to fob me off stating they were waiting for the manufacturer's response. This is still ongoing and no remedy has been offered.
I wish I had read these reviews first. They do not care about the customer. If the price looks good don't be tempted. Avoid

Worst customer service ever…
Worst customer service ever experienced, Michelle and Maria. Absolute disgrace. Called to check product in stock before ordering online, advised yes, ordered online on 6th sept, ordered online on a next day service, week later no product arrived, called to chase to be told wrong email entered my end, advised product was not in stock, i was in happy and asked for as refund, placed on hold and spoke to supplier, told would receive product no later than 23rd sept, called today to chase to be met by the rudest customer service advisor and to be told that I hadn’t responded to email.
Asked for refund again and they didn’t like hearing what i had to say so endured the call
SHOCKING SERVICE, AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!

They sent a broken fridge to me a year…
They sent a broken fridge to me a year ago and I'm still trying to get them to sort it out. It was delivered about a month before I opened my new business and the day I opened I turned it on and it didn't work.
I was asked for an engineers report which cost over £150 stating it had an internal gas leak, they then said there is no internal gas so my engineer must be wrong. Avoid at all costs

I appreciate your frustration however at point of purchase you selected a parts only warranty and not to pay extra for a full warranty otherwise we would have sent an engineer. Now you have paid for your own engineer and we are sending the part out to you so he can fit it, unfortunately that part is having to come in from abroad and will be with you the early part of August. Please accept my apologies for the delay.
Second time purchase, never again
I Have bought from this company before and been satisfied. However, having purchased a Bain Marie that tripped switches instantly when turning on I realised what all the other bad reviews were all about.
I instantly called them to complain and despite telling them that I was due to open a restaurant in 3 days the (very curt) customer service woman said there was nothing they could do until I emailed them to report the fault. The reply to my email stated that I had to pay up front £250 to get an engineer to come and inspect etc etc etc bla bla bla (yes if you read other people's reviews its the same very poor customer service. After reading these reviews I didn't trust CHS at all. So, instead I took apart the unit and found that 2 wires were not connected into their respective block (it wouldn't surprise me if this was a ploy to exctract more cash). Having mended the unit I subsequently contacted a few other suppliers who sold exactly the same thing and asked about their warranty procedure. All said, as it was brand new and never used they would send out an engineer immediately.
Well done CHS, you have just lost a customer with an expanding restaurant business. I will never purchase anything again and will spread the word about how bad you really are.
A word of advise, change your policy and stop ripping people off.

Ian - It is a fully refundable deposit and our customers do get refunded as long as the issue is covered under the warranty. All our competitors will invoice you if the issue is not covered under the manufacturers warranty and many will also take a deposit. Very similar to when you hire a car, you have to pay a deposit. We do not hide where additional charges may be incurred and it is the same throughout our industry. These terms are listed below.
As this subject has been raised so it is a perfect opportunity to share terms where costs can be incurred so other potential customers are aware of them. We don't hide them and all our competitors have very similar terms.
CHS Ltd aims to offer the lowest prices with quick professional telephone support, we’re constantly checking competitor’s prices, so you don’t have to thereby ensuring you get commercial quality products for the best prices! Like our competitors we are a business-to-business website and consumer rights do not apply as you are trading under business terms. We hold stock of a number of items but also ship from manufacturers and importers whom themselves and their delivery companies will pass any costs caused by our customer’s error back to us. To provide you the best possible price, we cannot absorb any additional charges passed on to us; to remain the cheapest if the error is due to our customers, we have no alternative but to pass these costs back. Understandably some people are unaware of business trading and can get frustrated even though we are very transparent with our terms. To avoid these issues arising on purchasing we send emails highlighting the points where additional charges can be incurred. We offer good customer service but work within the boundaries below, please be aware of the following areas where additional costs can be incurred.
1) Aborted deliveries for large items like fridges and ovens; please ensure you’re there for the delivery and a large lorry can get to your premises.
2) Engineers called to your site and the issue is not covered under warranty (e.g. like a faulty fuse). The manufacturer will send us the invoice for work outside the warranty, we will request a fully refundable deposit prior to authorising the engineer. This is refunded in full when the manufacturer confirms the repairs were undertaken under warranty.
3) Most companies require damage in-transit to be reported within 24 hours. To help support your situation please take plenty of photographs of the damaged box with the delivery driver, if possible. Sign the note as damaged if you accept it.
4) With re-stocking we do not cover the return postage and will not pay for your re-stocking fees if imposed by the manufacturers or importer.
5) If you have a back to base warranty you’ll need to cover the postage and we will act as the messenger between yourselves and the manufacturer. They may not cover misuse like scale in a water boiler when a filter should have been used.
6) Some manufacturers may not accept back any item that has been used or is not in the original packaging.
The points above can understandably be contentious for people unaware of standard business terms and we’re pleased to make customers aware of these situations to minimise them occurring in future. We are a fair company who’ll not change our terms for customers who are abusive, repetitive or threaten to post public reviews. If you want the best prices in the industry and great customer service whilst working within these boundaries we are a great company to trade with. When shopping elsewhere within our industry please be aware all our competitors have very similar terms.

I Will Never Use This Company Again
I have never in all my 40 years working with the public ever dealt with a company with such bad customer service.
when you order something and it takes them
5 days to tell you it’s out of stock
2 days to confirm your replacement
7 days they just don’t communicate to you
2 days chasing them up
1 day to find the delivery firm has not been given a delivery time as that’s down to the customer to arrange
1 day to find out that the removal of existing freezer was cancelled with the out-of-stock item they could not supply.
on one of my many phone calls to complain I was told someone would call me straight back - after 40 mins I called them back and was greeted with hostility as I "keep phoning to complain"

Took absolutely ages for delivery, even though it stated 3 days (it was bank holiday but it was much more than 3 days late), only half the delivery was correct, called to sort out the other half, rude woman wouldn't help me told me to email so i email and no one ever answers, wouldn't ever order again

Good Website and helpful Customer Service
Having spent many hours researching a replacement gas powered Burco for my Scout group to use at larger camps I found the catering hygiene specialists website to be easily navigable and their customer services team helpful and rapidly responsive when answering queries via email. I would definitely recommend contacting this supplier if you have any questions regarding a product.
