After wasting over £2700 with Circuit based training (Mallory Park), I went back to Camrider (Corby) who I did my CBT with.
Mick & Dale quickly identified why I had failed my MOD1 (twice with CIrcuit Based Training), after an afternoon of training, my MOD 1 was booked & passed with ease.
A few weeks later, I did a couple of ride our sessions & passed my MOD 2. If I had gone to Camrider in the first place, I’m confident that I would have only spent £800 in total.

Recently took my CBT at Ipswich CamRider and John made the experience less stressful, an awesome instructor that will try everything to teach you what you need to get you to pass.
Thanks mate 👍

Shocking Experience
Shocking Experience - Avoid like the plague. Booked my CBT in Bedford. Paid £170 Up Front, They cancelled my first course. Rebooked a second one they cancelled that then rebooked me for a third - I caught COVID so was unable to attend. They told me they would rebook - this was back in January, I've emailed called and messaged on Facebook and recieved no reply. Taken my money but no response. Shocking service and scammers in disguise. Avoid
Great experience
From start to finish I felt valued at the Bedford centre; Steve the instructor made time in group lessons to make sure I was happy with my progress and confident carrying out the exercises.
Great instructor and day…
I took my CBT at Ipswich Camrider with John. I was really pleased with both the day and my instructor. John went through the important things before we got out to the bikes and was attentive and patient during the day. I struggled with the gears and John suggested I tried on a none geared bike to gain confidence. It was the best decision and I thank John for suggesting it. I wouldn't have been able to go on the road ride or pass my CBT without that advice. I would recommend Camrider wholeheartedly. I am now on 125 geared bike and loving it thanks to my good start.
Would suggest looking else where for training
I’ve been riding for 15 years just in the US so need CBT and some help becoming familiar with UK laws. So signed up for a full license class CBT to Mod2 with CamRider.
The instructors were great and the class size is limited to two so everything seemed fine. It all went side ways very quickly. On the day of my CBT I was paired with a novice rider which was fine, she wanted to learn to ride and it was great the instructor could give her more time. She was having a hard time but didn’t give up. I personally didn’t think she was ready to go out on the road after lunch, but I’m not an instructor so what do I know. Well 30 mins in to the ride she crashed in to a parked car. She was ok luckily, just a little shook up. Because of this we didn’t get to finish the CBT that day, which was completely understandable. I went out the following week and completed the rest of the CBT and all was good in the world.
Two weeks later I was back out there for another day on the 125cc and to start the 600cc riding. Well the first part of the ride on the 125 consisted of sitting in traffic for over an hour on our way to the testing centre to check the other students documents. Fine it was still a road ride and it’s good to have experience in traffic. Then we spent another hour in traffic getting back to the training centre. At this point they were going to switch us over to the big bikes. However I couldn’t get comfortable on the bikes they had. A year of lockdown and lack of flexibility were the issues, my fault not theirs. They gave me a bunch of options and in the end it was decided that I would take the time until my next class to work on myself to be comfortable on the bike. I decided that the 3 weeks wasn’t enough and asked them to reschedule 3 weeks after that. They said no problem and everything was a go for July 21st class and Mod1 test on the 22nd. On July 19th I get a call saying that since it had been a long time between my classes they wanted me to book another day on the 125cc at £160 since I would be rusty. I’ve been riding for 15 years… what’s another day on the 125 going to do to help? It just seems like they were looking for a quick way to get another £160 out of me.
I will say they did promptly refund my remaining classes without issue, but now I stuck without my license and summer will be over before we know it.
I would seriously consider other training centres before Camrider.
Kettering CamRider
Excellent Bunch of Guys at the Kettering site, really nice and friendly made my Son feel really comfortable while doing his CBT. My son said that Dale was really professional and his instruction was first class. no sign of the regimented style listed in the review below. would highly recommend them to anyone.
My Daughter will be going in 18 months
A very mixed bag
A very mixed bag! Unfortunately, there appears to be a trend with motorcycle riding schools in that they tend to employ ex-services / forces personnel. What this means is despite being in your mid 30s you will be spoken to like you are a 17-year-old recruit. I.e. prepare to be sworn at and at times shown very little respect. This would not be acceptable in any other services industry, and it certainly felt that the fact I was paying for a service was lost on them.
The standard of tuition varied considerably with each instructor. One day you would have a lot of input and feedback around technical aspects of your riding and how to improve. Other days you would just get "why are you doing that!" One-way radios are also an issue, particularly when you can't hear what is being said and can't ask instructors to repeat themselves.
I'm confident that the only reason I passed was because I was riding a bike for 4 days straight and with enough practise, you'd get it anyway. Having days where the only instruction was "turn your f'ing indicator off" had very little to do with it.
My DAS course took place in Werrington Peterborough.
