From the moment you walk into the dentist, you immediately feel comfortable and welcomed. The ladies on reception are lovely, friendly and welcoming, and the practice itself smells and feels extremely clean.

The dentist takes the time to talk you through everything that’s happening and explains things clearly, which really helps you feel at ease.

Bupa staff are efficient and friendly. They always ask how i am. They care for you and make sure you are OK. The dentist explained everything to me before she treated me and listened to my concerns. She was very reassuring. This made me able to stay calm throughout the treatment.

The Thornton practice is very good. My dentist is superb. He makes me feel at ease. I feel valued & cared for as a customer

Our family have been coming to Bupa Dental Care in Westbourne for about 20 years now and we have always been very happy with Hamid Kolahy. He's a very gentle and caring dentist and has always made us feel at ease. He is extremely patient with one of our daughters who gets quite anxious. I would 100% recommend Hamid and we will be sorry when he retires.

I had a hygiene treatment via my employer Bupa insurance at St Mary Axe, London in September 2026.

The overall treatment went great - the hygienist was friendly, explained how to look after my teeth for better results, gave practical advice, etc. The facilities were clean and modern. 5 start for this part.

But my experience of booking the treatment was depressing.

When you book the treatment - it gives you a calendar with what you may think is the earliest available day - in my case it was April 2027 (8 months in advance)!

There is no arrow to go to a previous month. There is an arrow to go for the next month though.

I was very sceptical that there is an 8 month waiting line for a private dental hygiene. So I decided to explore the UI.

In the calendar box, despite having no arrow for the previous month, you could click on the last day of the previous month (which is greyed out btw). So I did. And guess what - lots of free slots for the previous month (March 2027) and the one before that and so on. After clicking 8 times, I finally found a slot for the current month.

Then I immediately faced a banner saying that the might be a £300 fee and your insurance may not cover it and you will only find out post treatment. I was sure that my insurance will cover it - it literally states "1 hygiene treatment fully covered at Bupa facility". But I didn't want to risk it.

So I decided to call the practice at St Mary Axe, London to confirm. Sadly they couldn't confirm if it would be covered since they don't have access to Bupa insurance policy details (despite being part of the same group). I was advised to call the main Bupa insurance line. So I did that - and only there I got confirmation that indeed my insurance will cover the treatment.

As you can imagine - it is very frustrating to deal with processes like this, especially after an exhausting working day. Just unnecessary stress.

I am leaving a 3 star review - so that it will be an incentive to improve your UI/UX.
