Amazing! - Completed a garage/utility refurb 1 week early – highly recommend!
I had an excellent experience with Buildworth Design & Build and am happy to give them 5 stars. I hired them for a side garage & utility room refurbishment at my home in Aylesbury. From start to finish, they were professional, transparent, and efficient.
Communication: From day one, their communication was excellent. Sophie (client liaison) reached out daily with updates. I always knew what was happening and felt comfortable asking questions. Reshil (the director) was also hands-on and explained technical things in plain English. This level of contact kept me at ease throughout the project.
Work Quality & Speed: The scope included a new ceiling, wall plastering, electrical tidying, and new flooring. Everything was done to a high standard – the finish is brilliant.
Impressively, despite adding a full flat roof replacement mid-project, they still finished the job a full week ahead of schedule. It’s rare to see such speed and quality delivered, but Buildworth managed it. The team was punctual, courteous, and cleaned up after themselves each day.
Problem Solving: When an unexpected roof leak was discovered (hidden by the old ceiling), Buildworth turned a potential issue into a smooth solution.
Reshil gave me two clear options: patch repair or proper replacement. He explained the costs/benefits of each, with zero pressure. I chose to replace the roof, and they handled everything, including a party wall agreement with my neighbour.
They prepared the consent letter and got my neighbour’s sign-off on the same day, saving me from hiring a surveyor or dealing with legalities. This was a huge relief and saved me quite a bit of money. They even kept my family informed to ease any concerns we had about the process.
Transparency & Trust: Buildworth’s payment schedule was clearly structured from the beginning. No surprises, no sudden charges. I paid in stages and always received immediate receipts and an updated account statement – very reassuring! I also held a small final payment until all work was completed to my satisfaction. That policy really showed their confidence and kept me in control. It was easily the most transparent financial interaction I’ve had with a building company.
Extra Mile: The team added a couple of extras at no charge (like installing two additional sockets and custom wood trim to cover some exposed gaps). Those little touches have made my space even more functional and polished. It wasn’t expected, but it tells you about Buildworth’s commitment to customer satisfaction.
Aftercare: I have a 24-month aftercare warranty and a 28-day window to report any minor issues. Knowing they stand by their work even after completion gives me real peace of mind.
Overall, Buildworth delivered on everything they promised and more. The project was on time, on budget, and hassle-free. They are truly trustworthy, local builders who take pride in their work. I’m delighted with my refurbished garage/utility (and new roof!) and I would not hesitate to recommend Buildworth to others.
