My son was at the bottom of a buyer chain in which BuildLoan was providing financing. The pressure was intense, because we were racing to complete the purchase before the Stamp Duty deadline of the 31st March. If it didn’t complete within that timeline then my son would have been unable to buy the house of his dreams. Michael Cartwright of BuildLoan was a total breath of fresh air. He was responsive, professional and honest. He kept us appraised of progress at all times - which kept us sane during a very stressful period. It’s clear that he cares deeply about the people who he deals with and that is a sign of excellent customer service. Buying a house for the first time is one of life’s biggest decisions. It’s a time when you need someone like Michael on your side. A huge thank you for helping us to wrestle our purchase over the line.

Great service by Buildloan, its a really useful way to get a mortgage on a property conventional mortgages wont touch. Great communication and easy customer portal, I dealt mostly with Tommy Walker who was great but everyone else I spoke with seemed very helpful.

Very happy about the level of support provided. Meanwhile, we have a formal mortgage offer. Our situation, being here on a visa, and wanting to do a true self build in Scotland is not the most common case, and Buildstore managed this brilliantly, with confidence and patience.

We needed to release equity to buy our plot, then a self-build mortgage for the build and finally re-mortgaging to a conventional residential mortgage when the house was completed.
