I was sold a new car with badly repaired damage to it

I purchased a Geely EX2 Inspire from the Brian Hilton group in North Gosford. They also have a branch in Wyong NSW.
I took it to an independent detailer, because I know that dealers notoriously provide expensive and sub-standard protection.
When I went to pick up my “new” car after two days in the detailer's care, he pointed out that the car had been damaged and repaired.
The damage included bog filler and respraying to both sides of the boot lip interior, tape marks in the paint work where masking tape has been applied to paint before it has set, overspray on the black trim and the main logo on the rear of the car, a partially removed identification sticker and a counterfeit logo to the right hand side of the boot that was visibly crooked! (By the time I handed the car back it had actually started to peel off).
Feeling angry with myself for not noticing the damage when I picked up the car (because I stupidly trusted the nice dealer ) I returned to Brian Hilton to have the car inspected. They tried to blame the detailer. As if he could have damaged and repaired the car in two days! And why would he draw my attention to it? Fortunately the detailer has 24/7 time stamped surveillance.
I demanded a refund on both the purchase price and the cost of detailing, to which I am entitled under Australian consumer law. Brian Hilton came back to me with an offer of new vehicle detailed to the same extent, and a refund on the detailing I had spent on the first car. I accepted the deal, only to have them backflip and claim that they had only offered to restore the status quo: a replacement vehicle with the same level of detailing. I pointed out that this deal was actually to their advantage. They would still make a profit on selling me a new car, and they would have the first car, complete with the benefit of professional detailing, to resell once they had repaired it.
I eventually secured a full refund on the terms I requested. At no time did I receive an apology, or any explanation as to how a damaged vehicle was misrepresented as a new one. In an added twist, I noticed that the odometer had 75km unaccounted for.
I should have come to Trust Pilot first! I note that this business has a low star rating. Lesson learned.
