I had a delightful and seamless experience with Breckon & Breckon. I am thrilled with the flat I'm currently renting! I found this company very easy to communicate with. The whole process of viewing the property, submitting an offer, and securing the flat was very straightforward.

Side note: After picking up my keys from the Breckon & Breckon office, I went to my new flat and found that they had left little courtesy packages for me. There was toilet paper and toiletries in the bathroom, and a little kitchen kit with dish soap, a tea towel, etc. in the kitchen. I found this detail very kind and welcoming. I have never experienced a letting company this thoughtful!

My letting agent, Charlotte, was fantastic! She was professional and helpful. She was understanding and made everything about the rental process and the specific property easy to understand. I am very grateful to her and could not be happier with the lovely flat in which I am now living.

I highly recommend you choose another leasing/renting agency if you can-- there are many better managed ones in the Oxford area. During my renting period of 3 months with them, Breckon and Breckon provided very little flexibility, communication, and understanding. The flat was not as described/advertised nor was clean when I moved in. And after paying additional money to opt into flat fair- they still were overly punitive when I moved out. I cleaned the property thoroughly and they still charged me for an additional cleaning because they found one strand of hair... and took a picture of it as proof. They also lied and tried to charge me for a late checkout which flat-fair disputed. They are not a trustworthy nor delightful business to work with.

I have been renting for 6 months and the only whole experience has been nothing short of fantastic. I wholeheartedly recommend renting from these guys.

Appalling service from management and sales teams. The sales team was very unresponsive and let the sale of my apartment drag on for months longer than they needed to be. The management team were also very poor and continue to bill me even though I moved out in July and have explained that. They claim this is completely out of their hands and were extremely rude and dismissive.

There is much to say about the state of renting in general, but Breckon & Breckon Summertown, in Oxford, truly puts a unique touch on the experience.

The sales team will quickly rope you into an agreement, wherein you'll sign up for a third party service called LetAlliance, wherein they'll score you to see if you are good enough to rent with them. We passed, but it all left a funny feeling of our great country's historical past of "othering" those who do not own a property themselves. I am happy to have left this part of my life behind me.

Throughout our tenancy, communication with Breckon & Breckon was less than satisfactory. Responses to our queries were often delayed, and we frequently had to follow up multiple times to get any action taken. This lack of responsiveness added unnecessary stress to our renting experience.

Maintenance issues were another point of contention. Simple repairs took longer than expected to be addressed, and there seemed to be a disconnect between the agency and the landlords. This inefficiency made us feel like our comfort and well-being were not a priority.

Upon moving out, we faced unexpected charges deducted from our deposit. Despite leaving the property in a better state than when we moved in, we were billed for services that were neither communicated nor agreed upon. This left a sour taste at the end of our tenancy.

In summary, the management by Breckon & Breckon in Summertown left much to be desired. I would recommend future tenants to document everything meticulously and ensure all agreements are in writing, using precise wording, as they will find any way in which they might be able to void it. It’s essential to be proactive when dealing with this agency to safeguard your interests. Mind you, all agencies are likely at the same level and I would rather recommend renting off smaller developers, who manage their own property. At least that's worked the best for us over our renting years.

We were a part of a complicated chain. We viewed a home in Witney, Oxon in February and fell in love with the property. To move forward, we needed to put our two houses on the market. John had them online and live with professional photographer within the space of a week. We very quickly had viewings (10~) within a week and moved to offer stage within a month. John supported us thinking through the offers we received and the offer we made. I found him to be a great source of guidance throughout the entire process and cannot recommend him enough. We also partnered with Alex, who sold one of our houses and did several viewings and he was consistently supportive, contactable and open. I found the group whatsapp chat useful, quick, and easy to communicate. If we were to sell again, we would definitely use B&B.

Summertown office need micromanaging. If they're going to relay an applicants offer to you on your house, ask them if they have checked applicants proof of funds and if they have mortgage agreement in principle in place!

I am a Landlord and the whole team at Breckon & Breckon provide an excellent service, finding good tenants, responding promptly to queries and efficiently dealing with any issues that need attention. My tenants are also happy with the service they get with Breckon.

Honestly, I would be ashamed to be associated with such a bigoted, xenophobic selfish company. My in-laws, were given the run around to a degree that made them feel as if they were not even close to being worthy of renting a flat.
Hope they get there comeuppance.

We’re just in the process of ending our tenancy and I thought it worth a second review because of how useless they have been, again. They never return phonecalls or messages. It takes weeks or even months to get anything fixed on the property. It took 3 months to get the double glazing fixed in the middle of winter. When we phoned about an issue with our back door lock we were threatened with a £99 lock smith charge if it was in any way our fault (we fixed the damaged key ourselves for £2.50 and then called them out for the lock issues). The process is so slow that we just bought the replacement blind for our sons room rather than wait any longer for Breckon (they took 2 weeks and we were being woken up at dawn every day). The main property manager went on holiday during the week of our check out with no one else being provided as a replacement contact and adding unnecessary delays to the return of our deposit.

I cannot thank Melissa from the Summertown branch enough! We had a tough year and a tough house sale which nearly lost us the home we wanted, but she kept everyone informed and invested in us! She was empathetic and supportive and her hard work paid off when we finally moved in to our beautiful new home! She went above and beyond and even popped in for a cuppa - I cannot praise her enough a truly lovely girl and a consummate professional who got the job done!

Cannot speak highly enough of the Breckon team in Headington. From our first valuation meeting to the completion of the sale, we received fantastic support from Matthew and his team!

After trying to sell our house with another agent for nearly a year in stepped ,Luke Mazonowicz at Breckon, and we never looked back. The whole team are so professional, and the photo,s and 3d tour where amazing.

There is no doubt in my mind that if we had taken our £1m+ property to any other Estate Agent, then it would not have sold so quickly at the price finally agreed. Through the contacts of Luke Mazonowicz, although the property was marketed, we were able to receive an offer within just a few days of the house being on the market.
The selling process was not that smooth as there were potential problems with the survey, problems with tenants and solicitors disagreeing over a 'Covid Clause'. Throughout the pressure to complete quickly and yet at the same time evict tenants, come up with extra documents, do searches and agree over completion dates, Luke remained a) contactable b) positive and c) helpful.
Mention should also be made over the brochure produced by Breckon and Breckon. The pictures taken - in particular the kitchen - were superb. Breckon had previously marketed our property in 2016 (a buyer dropped out) so some of the preparatory work had already been done. This gave us confidence.
There were delays, true, but outside of Breckon's control. Even though Luke was not always in the office he always replied to emails and phone messages quickly, informatively and professionally.
One suggestion: it would be helpful if Breckon and Breckon produced a (branded) folder listing useful (though not recommended specifically) contacts for removals, builders, electricians etc etc. We went from houseowners (of 27 years standing) to tenants and so had to clear our enormous house of furniture in a short time. Some advice in terms of finding new accommodation and emptying the existing house would have been a useful add-on. Competitors to Breckon and Breckon Lettings do provide such help.

Robyn Marsh-Wright was the negotiator for the property I have been in the process of purchasing. We have had a difficult transaction, running into a number of obstacles along the way. Robyn has been professional, containing, responsive and warm throughout. She has done a great deal of helpful liaison between parties and has felt like a real ally through the process, making sure that we proceeded on target to meet our timeframe despite the barriers we have come up against. Robyn's input has been invaluable and I'm not sure how we would have managed without her support. I would recommend Breckon & Breckon to all family and friends.
