Great service

Staff are nice people individually, but their dodgy advice cost me £12,000 and their excuse was that my case handler was inexperienced.

Be careful - they record phone calls to take verbal agreement from you, but then refuse to tell you what you agreed to or what advice you were given. I recommend you record all calls, to protect yourself from this. Don't make the mistake I did, and think they will comply with GDPR requests.

I also didn't like how they are unclear on how much their fees are. Some of their documents say their fees are inclusive of VAT, some say exclusive of VAT. The statements you'll get look like they're written by people without financial accounting experience. It's worth adding these up yourselves, because I found out they overcharged me £750 (but haven't returned this yet).

Bott + Co might be good for simple stuff. If you have low standards and expectations, you might just want to jump on their meat market conveyor belt and just let stuff happen to you. Don't think you'll have their full attention though, so just sit tight and wait for the wheels to grind along slowly.

I have no idea if they are good by industry standards, but I definitely found being hit by a van to be the most pleasant experience in the four years I've been working with them.

Two stars because on a human-to-human level, the people I've spoken to where genuinely nice, but considering they cost me £12k in dodgy advice, I wouldn't recommend them to others.

Update: I've now received the £750 they had overcharged me, but the VAT issue, call recordings and dodgy advice matter is still unresolved.

After a terrible experience with DAMS and ultimately poor communication with the associated Solicitors it was refreshing to speak with Solicitors who only had their clients interests at heart. Meghan from Bott was fabulous, she explained everything and reassured me that although i have to go through the whole process again she explained Bott could assist me. Being the victim of a car accident who is already under alot of pressure stress and anxiety it was a relief to speak with Meghan who had a calming nature about her after such a awful experience.

Explained everything clearly . Made the process easier for me

I enquired about a flight cancellation compensation claim. But after careful consideration decided to make the claim myself direct to the airline. I emailed Bott & co on numerous occasions stating I did not wish to proceed with the claim. At no time did I sign any letters for issue to the airline. But today received the following email from them.
Dear Stephen Burges,
We are contacting you with reference to your flight claim for U28201 from Gatwick Airport to Skiathos Airport on 27th June 2026.
Your claim has now been presented to the airline and they have 28 days to respond.
Receiving Payments From The Airline Directly
Airlines sometimes pay clients directly, instead of sending us the compensation as we have agreed. That is unfortunate when we have provided a valuable and professional service to you resulting in you getting paid. The airline do this on purpose to cut us out of the process.
We then have to go through the uncomfortable process of raising an invoice to you to get paid the fees we have agreed upfront with you. We'd rather not have to go about it in this way, as we know how hard it is to hand over your deserved cash once you've got a cheque in your hand or the money has landed in your bank. So, we thought it best to raise it with you now so you can plan ahead. If you do receive payment direct from the airline, please do let us know and we'll go about charging you for our service at that point, no more, and no less than you're expecting.
What happens next?
We give the airline 28 days to respond.
If we do not hear back from the airline within the time given, we will contact you to let you know that we are progressing onto the next part of the process.
To allow time for processing, we aim to update you by the 30th August 2026 so don't worry if you don't hear from us before then.
