I have been with Boox since 2014 and I am so glad they were recommended to me. The set up was straight forward and the app. very easy to use. Everything else required was carried out by Boox.
It was good having a dedicated accountant to communicate with and Jamie Peppin was excellent. Very helpful and patient, and always got straight back to me if I emailed him. Thank you for a great service.

The team couldn’t be more helpful, they have helped and guided me all the way and have kept me fully update throughout the setting up process . I worked approximately 3 years with Boox. I recommend people to work with Boox. Why?
1. I had good experience with the Boox team, Jamie Peppin and Richard Kingham, responsible with my company's financial affairs. The team has shown professional attitude and willingness to help. When I asked for a piece of advice the team did provide it.
2. The money that I paid did worth the Boox services that I paid for.

i have been with Boox 3 years and i had a few very bad experiences which made me come to the decision to leave, i am not with a different accountant and we are working through the numbers to try and amend some of the issues i was left with, in general the response time was very bad but these are my really bad experiences:

1. My first really bad experience where i got a letter from HMRC to return money which i had in hand but was advised to leave it until Boox will discuss this with HMRC, i then got another letter and another letter over 2 month where again and again, i was told not to worry, at the end i ended up with HMRC debt collector knocking on my door for silly amount of money which i could have paid long time before.

2. My husband is a share holder in my company and i was told that there is no value in giving him dividends because of the tax he is paying , i now found out that it is not the case and i could have paid him tax free dividends for the last 3 years?!!

3. when moving to my account i have asked for my payroll for the last year, i have received one version the first time and when i question back i got another version with completely different numbers, i am now working with my new accountant on this.

4. I have just received an email asking me to pay for a fee i didn't pay where i can clearly see the money coming out of my business account.

5. My husband closed his company with boox to move to be a permanent role and almost a year later received a hefty personal tax from HMRC for money he didn't have, Boox should have taken his permanent salary into account and made a prediction of what his personal tax might be which would have helped us prepare for the payment but they didn't , just closed his company and left him to it.

very disappointed and hoping not to find anymore surprises in my account.

Used Boox from the start of my first freelance job and their support has been invaluable for a complete novice like me. Support from the accountants and tax specialists has been great, so highly recommended.

I've been with BOOX for nearly 5 years; brilliant bunch of people - always there for you. If you want complete peace of mind when it comes to your tax affairs,these are the people you really cannot do without.

The team have been very helpful in all my interactions with them. All queries answer quickly and professionally. The only slight niggle I had with the app has been updated in the last couple of days, so no complaints!

I set up a ltd company and chose Boox because I wanted to support a business based in Portsmouth and thought they'd be able to give me all the support I would need when contracting. I ended up making a formal complain within my first three months and gave notice to leave my contract.

I was basically told I didn't have anything to complain about in their official response to my complaint. I was told someone would review my personal self assessment return and then told two weeks before the deadline that they couldn't - and then was given low quality advice when someone did eventually review my return. They also seemed to misunderstand how much I wanted to pay myself and agreed that there had been occasions where I was given unclear advice. But there was no apology in the email, no suggestion of how to resolve my bad experience and the tone was very much 'tough luck'.

I was expected to manage everything myself, so I don't see what value Boox adds that basic bookkeeping software doesn't. I regret choosing Boox and I'm counting down the days until my contract ends and I can move to another accountancy firm.

The team at Boox are very professional and they have helped me with absolutely everything and I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Awful Company - who like to charge but return very little. I am now in the process of submitting a complaint via ICAEW. Dissolved my Company but Boox failed to inform then HMRC of this and hence this resulted in me paying 23% tax for five months. No offer of a refund (still charged three months after notice period) or a sincere apology. This company have cost me an 'absolute fortune'. Be warned & steer clear!!

All paperwork done as soon as possible. 100% disponibility to solve all doubts and issues.

Great accountants, very knowledgeable and easy to deal with. Happy to answer your questions and obviously like what they do.

Took a star off just because the app is a little incomplete in some ways and occasionally a little buggy. It's still great though. Would have only taken half a star off if it was an option

After a few contact problems everything has now been sorted. A special thanks to Dom Aighton who has been brilliant!

Very helpful with running through how to set up a business and services boox offer

Explanations are clear and easy to understand even for someone with no knowledge in accounting like myself. The app especially is a great tool!

Although I have only recently signed upto boox, I can not fault the service I have received. Even the app is incredibly simple to use. I would highly recommend this service to any contractor or self employed person.
