Poor Customer Service

Booked with them last year for my October 2025 wedding but after reading reviews decided to cancel (even though this meant losing out on the £100+ already paid). I have been trying to cancel my booking for the past month but none of the contact information on the website works!! All you are told is to not contact via email or Facebook, and instead use the Customer Portal but this is a blank page! Awful customer service.

Not giving us our photos!

I've never known a company so full of lies. STILL NO PHOTOS. absolutely disgraceful. Will definitely not be recommending to friends and family who are wedding planning at the moment. Was told our equipment would be 'redocked' and the media uploaded into our gallery and it never has!

Was told I'd receive a reply and I haven't. I've emailed multiple times since I received the reply from them on here and received an email to say my query has been assigned to someone and I should hear back in a few days. That was 11th Feb, still heard nothing 🙄 absolutely disgusting customer service.

Our wedding was the 2/12/24 and we were really excited to make use of the photo booth we 'won' in a competition (one I don't remember signing up for!)
Leading up to the wedding day itself, communication was good, notifications were sent promptly and the day of drop off ran really smoothly, we were so impressed! The tech itself was basic, flimsy and temperamental but overall worked well on our wedding day!
Now, the day after the wedding was supposed to be the day the booth was collected from us. It wasn't.
After returning home early in order to be there when its collected, myself and my husband waited in all day for a collection that would never happen.
We then had to speak to customer services who, granted we're prompt in helping us, before we could drop the booth off at a drop off point ourselves (to avoid the extra charges we'd not caused ourselves!)

The booth was delivered back to them mid December, so our gallery photos should be with us by now right? Wrong.

After sending 3 emails, taking into account the Christmas period, we have yet to have access to our gallery. Thankfully we didn't pay a lot for the booth hire, and we got some photo prints on the night... Or else this would be a zero star review.
Definitely do not use this company if you're a bride who (at the very least) wants a smooth running few days leading up to the wedding. Cause you won't get that with Boothiy.

Regarding the delay in the gallery access, this is absolutely not the standard of service we strive to deliver. We’ve reviewed our records, and it appears the booth has not yet been fully checked in at our warehouse, which may be contributing to the delay. The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced

A shocking experience. I can only assume this is a fairly new company and they didn’t have the correct infrastructure set up initially because the customer portal was impossible to navigate to begin with. I was then sent a text 2 days before my wedding saying my order was auto cancelled because I hadn’t filled in some information - the portal was not clear at all and I had not received any of the reminders they claimed to have sent. After back and forth on email, I was given 15 minutes to read and sign a form with several T&Cs and complete an ID check.
The portal is now updated and is much clearer to navigate.

They have a poor attitude to customer service based on my experience, and I feel it worth noting that I saw on the portal that if you want your order confirmation re-sending, it will cost you £15… I’ve never come across a company to charge for that in my life.

Finally, my emails have been ignored for weeks and I’ve still not received the photos from our wedding 7 weeks ago.

Would definitely not recommend based on my experience.

Regarding your photos, the gallery link has been available in your portal since the event. If you’re having trouble locating it, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us for guidance.

Lastly, your emails were received during a period when our office had limited availability over the Christmas season. An automated response was sent to inform you of this, and our team replied as soon as possible upon returning.

Still haven't got our photo prints we paid for!

I got married over a year ago and booked Boothiy for our special day. We paid extra to have photo prints on the day but the printer was not working. I have been told many times that the prints were posted but they never arrived. I was offered some compensation and when I agreed to have that instead of the reprints they stopped responding. So one year later and still no prints and no compensation. I would not recommend booking with this company at all!

Awful. Awful company. Awful quality. Awful customer service.

Do not waste your money.

First of all, it’s just an iPad. There’s no glam and glitz. It’s a terrible quality iPad.
The printer wouldn’t work so only 3 pictures got printed. It looked as if it was held together by tape.

The lead up to getting the “booth” was horrendous. The customer service is non existent.
The website is ridiculous and 9 times out of 10, it doesn’t work.
Whoever you speak to on email/text/however they decide to reply is AGGRESSIVE.
They don’t want to help. They just want your money and for you to leave them alone.

I should've checked the reviews but I “won” a competition so just ran with it.

Don’t give these guys your money. I 100% recommend getting a 360° video/Photo Booth instead.

Avoid BoothIY like the plague

I cannot make this point clearly enough: if you want to hire a photo booth company for your wedding that will leave you safe in the knowledge that your guests will have a good time, and ultimately give you one less thing to worry about, then DO NOT, under any circumstances, hire BoothIY.

The problems started after hiring them. Having ignored our questions, our wedding coordinator got in touch with them. Almost immediately, they replied back, saying that they would be charging a fee if they were to communicate with her.

Apparently, all communication is supposed to be done through the account of the person who books it. For obvious reasons - that person having a full-time job, say - that isn’t always possible. Saying that, this whole situation came about because they had ignored multiple forms of correspondence from us. As we were soon to discover, this was only a taste of their intransigence.

In the build-up to our big day, their responses to our questions were flippant, rude, and exhibited the kind of customer service that would get them sacked from literally any other job.

We had booked extra prints to ensure that we had enough for our wedding day. However, despite multiple emails asking for confirmation that these would be provided, we were informed only a couple of days before the wedding that these would not be sent as they had been paid for using an alternative card and so had been unable to allocate these (this could, of course, have been rectified much earlier but for their shoddy timescale with regards to replying to emails). As a result, we had to accept that we would not have the extra prints that we had been counting on as we did not have time to try and source alternative additional prints

The whole business model is that of a self-operated booth - we were told that we would be sent the equipment the day before the wedding, and that we would have an hour to check that everything was there. Exactly the kind of thing we wanted to be doing the day before our wedding. However, we had booked it on the basis of it being a cheaper option so we had acquiesced to this demand.

Putting aside the aesthetically unpleasant nature of the equipment, I discovered that the correct number of prints weren’t present, and duly informed them within the designated hour time slot. Their response was to essentially deny that this was possible (begging the question of why they get people to check if they’re just going to dismiss their feedback out of hand), before informing me that they wouldn’t be replying to any more of my messages.

Since the number of prints included were insufficient for what we wanted, we couldn’t use it.

Thankfully, a couple of weeks previously, when we had realised that BoothIY couldn’t be relied on, we started sourcing alternative Photo Booth companies. By pure luck, one of those companies was available for our date, and they kindly stepped in, and were brilliant, displaying the kind of excellence and consideration that BoothIY would do well to learn from (but probably won’t).

Ultimately, after a lot of chasing (and bringing up the prospect of instigating a chargeback through our credit card provider), we got a full refund. This was after being threatened with legal action should be proceed with this, resulting in us having to seek our own legal advice, which did not make for the calmest start to our marital life. Although we did eventually get a refund, this doesn’t make up for the needless amount of stress that was caused by BoothIY in the first place.

There seemed to be absolutely zero appreciation that the build-up to a wedding is a busy and often stressful time. The customer service was utterly appalling - the worst I’ve experienced from any company I’ve ever dealt with.

Essentially, we hired BoothIY because they were cheap, and we were trying to save money. Don’t make the mistake we did. A manned booth is more expensive, but trust me, you can’t buy peace of mind.

In short, avoid BoothIY like the plague, and tell your friends to avoid them too.

We really enjoyed the Photo Booth

As a whole we had a really good experience with the company. We did find it a little confusing assembling the booth at first but we got everything set up and working quite quickly. Everyone loved taking photos with it. It was easy for it to be out of the way but able to still be used and seen by our guests

A shambles from start to finish

A shambles from start to finish. Didn’t receive all the props or the guestbook. I ordered extra photo strips that went to waste as the ink ran out. I emailed numerous times with no reply. And the link I finally received of my photos were of someone else’s wedding 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣. 100% advise on paying more to get a decent company instead of throwing money away.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company. I ordered a photobooth for my wedding.
For context, communication was excellent from the company until I had paid. When I had emailed for help to complete the booking link on the portal, no one responded so I then used the online portal to ask for help to add my delivery address (I couldn't move on to the next step due to a fault in their drop downs based on photo backgrounds). I sent a short message on the portal asking to speak to a human being and this is the email I recieved. 6 days before my wedding:

"Hi Rachel You have logged into the customer portal to send this so I don’t understand why you haven’t completed the event prep and checklist which you’ve been sent MULTIPLE reminders of now...

Your booking is self managed, like all of our bookings. The process is very simple so please get it completed or you will not be receiving your booth. It is up to you to complete the information on them and read the help guides etc. 

Your comment about not being able to get hold of anyone is completely unacceptable, firstly you shouldn’t need to get hold of anyone to complete what you need to, and secondly you have not made any attempt to contact us through the portal which is the only way to manage your booking prior to this message.

When in the portal view the checklist and complete the outstanding steps.

If we have to assist you with this there is a charge of £49 for our concierge service. If the steps are not complete by 10am on 07.10.24 your booking will be cancelled and you will not be credited or refunded in line with our terms."

I have never written a negative review on trust pilot but honestly, the company have no customer service at all. Not only did they want to charge £49 to answer a question, as well as adding on additional delivery charges, they are extremely rude and passive aggressive. Go elsewhere or do your own DIY photobooth for far less hassle!

Insufficient Customer Service

I was told that an outcome to our complaint would be no later than October 2nd 2024. It is now October 12th 2024 and we are still to hear from you. I wish to be clear, that this issue has been outstanding from August 6th 2024.

Given that is 10 days beyond the date, which you made clear reference to, we are now considering our legal options as I feel that you are in breach of contract.

I will give you an ultimatum of 5 working days to respond before we initiate formal proceedings.

Just as an FYI for future customers

Just as an FYI for future customers, they offer free photos for five star reviews so you can safely ignore any on trustpilot.

Had a few issues with this company from the start but now they are withholding photos from me (despite me leaving them a good review like they asked). My event was over a month and a half ago and I still have not received the individual high quality images as promised. No responses from emails or the contact us page on their portal.

Throughout the process the company have been very hard to get hold of. There was an issue on their site where my dates hadn't auto-filled so I emailed to ask when they wanted my information by.... no reply except that I have to pay extra if I want customer service.

The photobooth itself was good enough quality, the background was poor quality and didn't end up getting used and the day of technical support we were promised only had very short office hours so weren't any help when the ipad wasn't working. We had to turn it off and on again and got a snotty whatsapp from them about trying to fix it ourselves.

So to summarise I'd go somewhere else. I still don't have the individual photos from my event, just strips of eight photos with duplicates on which are no good for social media as they are too small.

My wedding captions

Well I was bit worried at trying out something like this where your not in control and only talking through a portal or email.
But my expectations were wrong from the start had a couple of issues with my email on my side and it was sorted without charge as it was my fault. The information to set up for Boothiy was pretty simple with deposits opitions and reminders for full payments by email. Then very Efficient with reminders of Certain documents ID event prep and delivery options was very simple. I would advise someone else looking after this for you if it’s your event as I found it very difficult to pack away with a slight hangover not what you wanna be doing the day after your wedding. It was a very easy to set up very easy to pack away and very easy with the instructions left out for you in the box. Overall good experience and worth every penny.

Tired and broken equipment - poor staff support

Equipment is batteres for starters. Turned up with half a working light which also had a hole in it. Scratches all over the unit, looked like it had been well used. Certainly not wedding appropriate.

iPad was locked and customer support said I was lying. I had to send screenshots to prove I wasn't and refused the code. Then customer support told me I could have the code but I was apparently being rude asking for help. (Tonnes of screenshots of the unprofessionalism)

Stickers all over the unit with 2 different support numbers so you've to guess which to use

Poor customer service

I booked BoothIY for my wedding day. Unfortunately the day before I received an email to say that the delivery had been delayed. They assured me that it would arrive the morning of my wedding which it did not. They responded quickly to say they would issue me a refund, however 4 weeks later I still hadn't received the money back. It wasn't until I contacted my bank that I eventually got a response. I was refunded the money I had paid for the Photo Booth, however I was not refunded for the extra money I had paid for the return delivery, despite questioning this in an email which has still been ignored. I am thoroughly disappointed in this company and would not normally write a bad review but I feel in this case it is truly warranted.
