I liked the inexpensive part. I did not like how long it took to get my book. I do not like that writing a review is impossible!!!

The first place I look to buy my books from. They have a great selection, prices are reasonable, and they’re a certified B corporation. An online ethical alternative to Amazon!
Books have always arrived in good condition and in a reasonable time frame. 5 stars.

Apparently no, Better World Books don't care if you receive your book or not. They've got your money: that's all they care about. Absolutely disgraceful attitude.

The carrier says: contact the seller. The seller says: contact the carrier. In a better world, the seller would use a decent carrier in the first place, not a notorious cowboy gang like Yodel.

Eventually a rain-soaked rare book turns up on our doorstep in the middle of the night, delivered by an unknown neighbour. Moral of the story: if you like books, don't order them from Better World Books.

Great place to buy used books, very reasonable prices. Problem-Returns. I purchased a new set of books for a gift, which were not set to deliver for several weeks. As our gift was duplicated, I needed to return the books, again, which were NOT even shipping for 10 days....They were eventually shipped/received and shipped back by my. Ultimately they whacked me for a 15% restocking fee. Totally unjust, considering my circumstances.

This company advertised an expensive guidebook to Edinburgh as if it were modern - it is a weird modern compilation of tiny antique articles - completely out of date and impossible to read without a magnifying glass. untrustworthy.

Ordered this book on Amazon , it came with mold on the pages and water damage, absolutely disgusting how they could send a book in this condition.

Ordered three books, all with 5-7 days est delivery times. Two of the three books arrived after 11 days. The third book has been in transit for two weeks, and BBW won't respond to my queries. Completely ass service. Will never use again.

I ordered one book saw the cover and they sent me another book. Than tried to blame it on me because I needed to know some strange number system they use. Refuse to give me a full refund. I literally clicked on the picture of the book i wanted.

I ordered an ‘A’ level study guide and the AS level was delivered, waiting on reply from BWB. First time I have used this company, disappointed.

Be warned, the illustration cover they advertise may not be the one you actually receive! I was expecting the latest addition as shown in the picture but instead received a tatty old version.

SCAM COMPANY

Never delivered a book and refused to give me my money back alleging that per their policy they don’t give refunds or replacements after 30 days.

Delivered without notification. Left outside on the front doorstep in bad weather without seeing if anyone was in to take delivery.
And worst of all they put one of their reference stickers on the dust jacket of a delicate 60 year old book that removed the printing that was underneath it. Ignorant unthinking vandalism of a collectable book. Use some intelligence next time and come up with a better way to reference your sales, or at the very least put the sticker somewhere where it won't cause noticeable damage.

Used the wrong illustration of the cover and wrong (incomplete) name to advertise a textbook, and sent the workbook (in really bad condition) instead. Would not pay for return postage, which was almost as much as the book. You have been warned -- read carefully the description and check the ISBN on the ISBN site, or simply use another bookseller.

Sent me a damaged book that was stated as “condition - very good”. Customer service asked for me to send pictures of the damage and then ignored me after I sent the pictures. I followed up multiple times with no response

I ordered a book that was limited edition hardcover, the release date came and went, after reaching out to this company they made me wait for a week to tell me "that title is backordered and we will get it out to you as soon as possible". Folks, there are no more copies of this book. I don't have it, and they continue to pule. Incredibly frustrating and useless experience. Just support the evil empire and buy Amazon. Can't believe I'm saying that

I ordered a book 3 days ago - and within 5 minutes realized it was a mistake do I cancelled the order. The website said that cancellations can be made within an hour of ordering. I canceled before even getting a confirmation for the order. I got an email response the following day saying I could not cancel. I sent another email with a screenshot that said I could cancel within an hour. Once again, I got a response 12 hours later saying they would respond to my email after a review. It has been over 24 hours and I have no response. This is a scam company.

I am extremely upset. I ordered a book for my husband as a Christmas gift, ordered November 30Th. No book a month later, I thought it was due to postal overload. I contacted the company which explained they were overwhelmed by requests. I finally got a mail: they are unable to send the book and will refund. Not only the book was VERY expensive but it was a very special present I wanted for my husband. I really don't recommend this company, if you can't do business then don't do business.

Return policy is dismal. Trying to find the return policy on the website is difficult, then the actual return process is worthless. You have to pay for the return shipping - they do not provide return labels & do not refund return shipping charges. If what you are returning is new, they charge you a restock fee. In our case, by the time you calculate the return shipping & the restock fee, we only got $4 back on any new $41 book. Will not be doing business with them again.

Book arrived in fair condition because of the way it was packaged. And another book I bought from them was in really bad condition and was supposed to be new.

Ordered a book over 10 days ago and still have not received it. I am not even sure it will arrive at all. For reference, the book was supposed to arrive by 12/28/2025. I got one shipping notification that a tracking label was created but the shipping company has not received the item. This company seems scammy and at this point I am just hoping to get my money back through my credit card dispute. I would not recommend. I submitted a dispute with the company and they have not even responded.
