Highly recommended alpine sports

Highly recommended from my own experience, ordered shoes that arrived promptly and were tracked.
Had an issue that needed resolving and all I can say is from my point of view they have excellent customer service, responded promptly and dealt with me fairly and swiftly.
Rare to find a company online that is backed by human beings these days and also that work swiftly to resolve any issues.
Would definitely use them again if looking for alpine leisure or sports gear.

Bestätigungsdokumente der Schweizer Post werden angezweifelt. Mehrfach wurde versprochen, man kümmere sich umgehend um die Pendenz. Aber nichts passiert. Warte immer noch auf mein Geld. Erbärmlicher Reklamationsservice. Nie wieder Bergzeit. Konkurrenz ist um Welten besser und professioneller.

Es tut mir aufrichtig leid, dass Ihnen die falsche Größe zugestellt wurde - dies sollte selbstverständlich nicht vorkommen und entspricht nicht unseren Qualitätsansprüchen.

Leider wurde die Retoure nicht wie vorgesehen angemeldet, sondern an einer Beispieladresse gesendet, die zur Unterstützung bei der Anmeldung dienen sollte.
Wie von unserem Kundenservice mitgeteilt, wurde eine Nachforschung eingeleitet. In der Zwischenzeit wurde das Paket lokalisiert.
Die Erstattung wurde von unserer Seite eingeleitet und sollte in den nächsten Werktagen auf die ausgewählte Zahlungsart zurückerstattet werden.

Bei weiteren Fragen oder falls Unterstützung gewünscht wird, hilft unser Kundenservice jederzeit gerne weiter.

Beware of this company.

Beware of this company.
They sent me boots, that I had unfortunately to return.
Now they claim excessive wear.
I am absolutely sure I only had them on indoors for 5 minutes.
They may have sent me boots they had returned and this has escaped their attention. Or maybe the shared warehouse, which is huge, did something wrong? I think it fair to trust a client, even if you have the right to refuse a return.
Do not buy unless you are 100% certain you want to keep it.
There are other outdoor companies that are 100% trustworthy and will match any other price, so there is no need to take the risk of buying from this awfull company.

Update, dec 29th

Bergzeit keeps calling me a liar and a fraud.
A completely honest client.
They hide behind the small letters in their condition.
Any decent company would try and solve this dispute, but Bergzeit has no idea about service to clients.
In case of any possible doubt, they obviously have no consideration for their relationship with the public.
I'm sorry to say, but I must strongly advise any possible buyer to look elsewhere if you need a to buy your expensive gear

Articolo mai arrivato e forse mai spedito

L'articolo che ho ordinato, per un valore di più di 70€, non è mai arrivato. Non solo la consegna era prevista in massimo 5 giorni, ma del pacco non si hanno avuto tracce. Ho contattato più volte l'assistenza clienti, che non mi ha saputo aiutare affatto e neanche il loro servizio di reclamo mi ha risposto.

VAT Nightmare

Very slow to ship, suspect they hold limited stock. They ship to the UK via the DAP method. However, because they are charging 20% UK VAT they should be shipping via DDP (Delivery duty paid). This means you are paying VAT twice. They seem to think sales VAT and import VAT are two different things which of course they are not. Customer support is poor, they just obfuscate and won't accept they are wrong. Ridiculous stance must loose them loads of sales.

Unexpected Import tax when ordering from UK

I would avoid using if you are in the UK. Appears to be good value but anything over £135 and you'll get stung for import VAT & customs fee and royalmail handilng. Given I already paid VAT at the point of sale I effectively paid 40% VAT. I have not had this with other EU based sites when ordering from the UK so not sure what happens with this company. Plus I paid £20 for shipping so was really not expecting any other charges. They were not helpful when I queried it just told me I should have read the small print when they eventually responded to my email about a failed delivery attempt. I will not order from them again. Lesson learnt
The info is indeed hidden in the small print when you check out but it is really not obvious.
I wish I had checked the reviews here before I ordered as it seems I am not alone.

Ordered 2 pairs of trainers in the…

Ordered 2 pairs of trainers in the sale, thought it was a good deal until I got a letter from Royal Mail demanding £84.00 VAT. I had spent £250.00 for 2 pairs. Not only is the VAT ridiculous and not in the realm of 20% it was £34.00 more than 20% VAT. All sorts of hidden fees like clearance fee of £12.00 plus customs duty of £19.55. Imoort VAT of £52.77. Considering on Google they are listed as a .uk.co.ltd company VAT should not be applied. I will never order from Bergzeit again.

Effettuato due acquisti negativi

Effettuato due acquisti. Il primo era una felpa taglia L che veniva indicata come vestibilità regolare ed invece vestiva molto ampio, tipo XL. Non è stato possibile fare la sostituzione con taglia M, essendo esaurita. Reso con detrazione spese.
Il secondo acquisto riguardava un paio di pantofole marca CMP che erano OK e una borraccia per trekking di alta qualità taglia 900ml. La borraccia è arrivata nel pacco senza alcun confezionamento e con chiari segno di usura su due lati. Era senza alcun dubbio già USATA.
No comment.

Awful experience from start to finish

Awful experience from start to finish, no confirmation of despatch, had to phone to get that only to find out it was in the country held by a hefty hidden customs fee even after spending £20 on delivery. No idea where that money went.

Although good deals avoid buying outside of their home country.

Misleading prices and poor service.

I ordered a tent for £550 which seems like a good deal compared with other websites. However, on coming through customs I was hit by a massive VAT bill. Bergzeit's website clearly says that all prices "include VAT", and when you pay at the checkout VAT is included in the price, and is shown on your invoice. BUT, they are misleading you, VAT is NOT included, you pay it again at customs!. You are effectively paying VAT twice , which is obviously wrong and ridiculous. What they should be doing (for UK customers) is to deduct the VAT at checkout, so that you only pay it once at customs. Their website is highly misleading and deceitful because they lure you in with low prices and pretend to pay the VAT , but the reality is that you pay over 40% VAT...totally disgraceful and outrageous. As for the customer service, it is very slow and unhelpful. In my view they are acting fraudulently. I will never trust or use them again.

Long delivery and no information on having to pay custom charges when it reaches the UK

I would avoid, I have ordered ski gear from them and it has been 20 days and I am still waiting. Just found out this morning that it has arrived to UK and they will be sending me a (letter - physical letter, which era is this) with a reference number to pay customs charges.

It has taken Bergzeit over 10 days for my helmet and goggles to leave their store and no info that I would be expected to pay customs' charges / VAT on arrival, very deceitful. I wish I knew this and I would have avoided and purchased from the UK / trusted delivery efficient company. I went with them as they had the brand I wanted and it was the cheapest online, but now I will have to pay more that I had bargained for. Very disappointed.

Quick update 22nd Jan - what I thought was a bargain price turned out to be the most expensive option online (I feel like an idiot), as there were no indication that the price didn't include VAT and custom charges, I am paying an additional £70 to get my order from the delivery company Parcel force. how disaapointing - we live to learn. Careful when you buy from Bergzeit and you are based in the UK. slow delivery, hidden cost and fustrating to get info and know who to contact to get or return your order!

Where is my delivery?!!

I placed an order for some walking boots, which Bergzeit immediately took payment for. Shortly afterwards I received an email to inform me that my delivery would be delayed by one to two days. It has been a month now, there’s still no sign of my boots, no further emails regarding delivery and I notice the boots are now discounted in their sale. I’ve been on their website and tried to use their messaging service to get help, but there is a glitch in the system so I can’t get through 😡

Quick international shipping

I had a great experience. Placed my order on Monday evening, it was shipped the next day from Germany and I recieved it on Friday. No extra costs for border tax or other steps needed. Glad I found the site.

Unexpectedly arrived before the 8-10 days I was told at checkout, price excellent

I looked up Bergzeit here before ordering. I was quite put off by the rating and recent reviews, but as far as I could tell they were mainly to do with the delivery by Evri. I needed the rucksack I bought for a trip I am planning in 3 months, so plenty of time, and the price was very good, so decided to go for it. To my surprise the rucksack turned earlier than the 8-10 days I was told at checkout.
So, very pleased, all worked out well.

Eco packaging does not survive the…

Eco packaging does not survive the journey to the UK. Perhaps Evri are curious to see what is inside because it is always damaged and opened by the time the eco-packaged parcel or brown paper envelope arrives from Germany. Please Bergzeit, just use normal cardboard boxes and normal tape and the packaging will survive the journey and Evri's fingers.

Like many others I received the email below blaming Evri for delays. The package seems to have disappeared in the system. Seems like the 5-7 day time frame is a fantasy. Will update when I eventually receive the goods. It's been over a week now.

It is now awaiting further processing in the Evri parcel center. Due to the extremely huge numbers of packages If your shipment is delayed, we ask for your understanding that nobody can estimate how long the delay will be."

2 weeks and still haven't received my goods

Ordered on the 20th Nov. Items marked as dispatched very quickly however Evri delivery has not delivered! I have paid and its now been over 2 weeks! I need the goods or a refund. I have emailed Bergzeit customer services twice and still no response! Whats going on ?! I won't be using this company again.

Edit: its now the 10 Dec. I still don't have my parcels or a refund. I've had an email to say you have raised an investigation with the delivery company. This does not help me. I need the order or a refund and you are offering neither.
