Customer Service is awful
Customer Service is awful. They huff and Puff on the phone just asking you questions to verify. I opened a High yield Account and took 10 days for my money to go through. They hire from the hood. so, everyone on the phone talks to you like you're from the same neighborhood. No Excitement, condescending and just out right disrespectful. You need to request a debit card by the way when you open a checking. they will not just make you one. as they say.
What a dumb bank!
I wasted almost an hour trying to open a high yield saving account with this bank. I have a perfect FICO score and several online bank accounts and after 3 phone calls and 4 times filling out their application online, I received an email denying my saving account. I AM TRYING TO PUT MONEY IN YOUR BANK!!!! How dumb are they to refuse a saving account??

Penalized for their customer service reps incorrect information
I had a CD (Certificate of Deposit) account for 6 months which was due to mature in December 2023. I called in advance of this to open a new CD account, because the new rate was significantly higher than the rate I locked in previously. I was told by the rep that it wasn't necessary to open a new account, because if I just allowed my existing account in place after maturity, it would "automatically renew at THAT rate". Suggesting that the account would automatically qualify for the higher rate. So, based on the leading word of the customer service rep, I did not open the new account. Low and behold the rate on their CD then dropped, and so my account rolled over to a lower rate than the one I would have had if their rep had not meddled and provided me with misleading information.
I relied on the guidance of their rep and I got burned as a result. When I raised this with them as a complaint, they reviewed the situation and the call and their resolution was to deny me of matching my CD at the higher rate and stating that the representative did not tell me not to open a new account. I agree with the fact that she did not tell me not to open an account, but I maintain that her advice caused me not to open the account because she told me I didn't need to. That's a direct consequence.
Due to the timing of my complaint, their delays in addressing the complaint, and then rolling into the Christmas holidays, my account fell out of the "grace period" and now if I wish to close the account before June 2024, they want to charge me a $2,000 penalty. I don't consider this a fair business practice at all.
The worst
The worst. stay away. !!! Made a $2000 transfer and they took $4000 and refused to reverse it -very scary. When you call they give you a song about how they're working on it -over drew my checking and it's been 2 weeks and haven't reversed it. Cant wait to close the account
No Frills, Great interest rates
Great interest rates, excellent customer service and a complex, albeit secure setup process. It's a no frills, few options account, but that is exactly what we were looking for. Just needed a place to park some cash for my mother-in-law at a great interest rate. This was it. Because of the situation we did have to talk with customer service 3 times, but they were more than helpful and courteous. It does take a few days for transfers to process and the transfer limits as of November 2023 were sufficient at 150K per transfer and 250K per month. Once set up and funded it's on auto pilot for this account, which again was just what we needed. Now we will Bask in the safe and great interest earnings for her.
The interest rate is terrific
The interest rate is terrific. The set up process is cumbersome, or at least it was around a year ago. It was curious why they would only accept a $25,000.00 deposit per month. But you deal if you want the good rate. Customer service is via email, sometimes quick, sometimes not.
Ineffective application process

Finally called support and they first said the phone was defective however I do all my banking (4 other accounts) including credit cards, etc with the phone. They they said the IOS was 13.0 or better, I actually have 15.7.x How about having the customer simply enter the data you need like ALL the other financial institutions? Big waste of time.

I really don't understand all the bad reviews. I have been with Bask bank for 8 months. I've had multiple occasions to transfer money between Bask and my local account. I have noticed that at the beginning things seemed to take a little longer, but it seems once they 'know' you, things go much faster. I have called customer service on two occasions with questions. Both times the phone was answered promptly, and by a knowledgeable person. They answered my questions and were extremely helpful. Their contact phone number is posted on their website.
Tried to set up joint savings account…
Tried to set up joint savings account on my desktop computer. The application went fine until they required I use a link sent to my cell phone to complete the process. The link "requires" the use of Google Chrome on Android phones. As I have Chrome disabled on my phone and never use my phone to access the internet, this was a very stupid management decision to have this requirement. Even tried the link on my desktop using Firefox and it won't work as it requires Chrome..... We have three other online bank accounts and never had such problems setting up accounts as with Bask Bank that refuse to use your desktop computer for the application process.

good interest rates, okay customer service. Like others, if you are looking for more interaction, get an account opened in a different bank. Better rates? this is the bank to look for.
Great Rates may Equal Poor Customer Service - I vote for rates
Their interest rate is great and deposits and withdrawals are completed in a timely basis. Their customer service (CS) is poor (very poor) and you will see that in most of the negative reviews. I feel if you want good CS, then go to a brick and mortar bank and get 0.10% APY. If you want no frills, high rates, use Bask.
Nothing but positives!
I have been with Bask Bank for about a year now and have had zero issues with them! I have moved money in and out several times with no issues. They have the highest interest rates out there, pushing 5% right now! I don't understand the negative reviews honestly.
NO Customer Service
Have had an Internet High Interest Savings Account for over a year. Yes, the interest rate is high, but if you need "customer service", forget it! Wanted to add my husband to the account and attempted to do so for TWO WEEKS! The issue? You must do this through a phone app. My location renders phone reception poor at best and the transmission of photographs (drivers license and face) would not go through. Tried numerous times. Contacted the "customer service" line four times and asked if there was another way this could be accomplished. May I email the photographs? Was always told to try again. I'm done! They obviously don't want additional money in my/our account.

Don’t understand low rating. They pay great interest rates on savings and when rates goes up you don’t have to call them to get the better rate— it just goes up.
Avoid this bank...tech and customer service is bad
Worst application process. Must submit biometrics (driver license front and back and selfie). Their tech is useless...no matter how hard you try to focus on the driver license it won't auto-scan. Then if you submit a picture you receive a notification that "bar code can't be read." But allows you to submit and you receive an OK message. Then must await next steps. For us it was an "Error Code" without definition. So, I called this morning. Waited on hold 8 minutes and requested a call back which came about 6 minutes later. Nice agent who explained my biometrics hadn't been received. She sent new text link and both of us re-submitted biometrics. Again, same problem with their technology. But same results..."OK." So, to confirm, I called bank again. Same wait and call-back times. Agent placed me on hold about 5 minutes and returned to tell me she was waiting to speak with first agent because "she hadn't notated the account." I asked her simply, "did you receive our new biometrics?" After a few minutes of checking she said no. Too difficult to become a customer. I've canceled the application and asked they confirm this. I don't expect I'll receive any confirmation. Overall bad experience...when it should have been the best experience (signing up).
