We have just had air conditioning installed in our bedroom. The whole experience was excellent and on time. The plumber/ac technician was very professional and the installation was done to a high standard. I would recommend them highly.

The worst contractor we've ever used. 9 month M+E contract, Bamfords caused multiple problems and we are still dealing with issues caused by them 2 years later.

Bamfords are trying to prevent us from leaving accurate reviews by claiming defamation but we have posted full reviews elsewhere.

They quoted for the building contract also but were more than 25% more expensive than the excellent builders which we used.

We were forced to commence legal action as they would not even provide working lights for the property and they are in breach of consumer law by refusing to provide the specifications of parts of our plumbing system, thereby risking serious damage to our home.

They have been aggressive, unpleasant and unprofessional.

I have had 2years of frustration and despair with finding solutions to falling heating pressure and Bamfords are the only firm to have tackled the issue professionally. They provided proper leak detection and replaced the underfloor piping all with minimum disruption . A superb job with skilled employees who I would recommend to everyone

Contacted Bamfords to deal with a boiler leak over the Christmas period. Very prompt service, great engineer and the repair was duly made. Unfortunately the final bill was an eye-watering £541.39 (including £150 callout fee) ... just to replace a small plastic condensing pipe. Even accounting for increases in the cost of living, that seems an excessive price. My advice to anyone considering Bamfords is to obtain a written quote first before agreeing to the work being done.

We asked Bamfords to investigate a faulty solar thermal system. After an upfront payment we received a few lines by email to tell us the system was antiquated and not reparable. We requested a quote to install a new system, necessitating another visit. After much chasing Bamfords have now declined to provide us with a quote. We found the initial engineer had left the loft hatch wide open and loft ladder down.

We moved into our new home this summer and contracted Bamfords for most of the work. The major project was installing a new kitchen, which, with subsequent modifications, is beautifully fitted. All of the staff we have dealt with, builders, electricians, plumbers and carpenters, are knowledgeable, friendly and highly competent. We highly recommend this company.

Glad I chose Bamford's due to the complex and 'bitty' project undertaken on moving into to our 'new' house. Either employed all the trades themselves or had good access to good specialist subcontractors. Communication responsive at all times. Particularly impressed with the carpentry aspect.
Also had a call out (cable damage) which was not related to the project where Insurers Direct Line were unresponsive, to cut a long story short Bamford's responded within 30 mins of my phone call late afternoon temp fix within 2 and permanent fix a week later. Will be using Bamfrod's on our next project

We moved to Sherborne three years ago and knew we wanted quite a lot of work done. A neighbour recommended Bamfords as an excellent building company that covered all the trades. We were delighted with the standard of the work, the reliability of the men and their pleasant attitude in our home. Since then we have called on them for help with several jobs including a mysterious smell! They have been unfailing in their perseverance and always found solutions. I used Bamfords recently to install a new domestic heating system. Having spoken with a number of electrical contractors, my decision to work with Bamfords was based on their responsiveness and professionalism. They advised with clarity right from the outset and made sure that everything was explained in detail, every step of the way. The fitters were friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. They worked tidily and did an excellent job. I am delighted with their work and would highly recommend them.

I needed a new kitchen sink, because the worktop had rotted. the guys from Bamfords worked as hard as they could so that I did not need a completely new worktop and I am over the moon with the work they did. I have used Bamfords before and I was not disappointed again this time.

After a quote from a local company that was very bad, i asked Bamfords to come out to our small cottage. Rob Bamford and his project manager Paul came out. We told them what we wanted and they were very professional in the advice and their recommendations. Rob and my partner and I went to a local showroom to discuss what we wanted and with Emily from Quality Bathrooms we got what we invisaged. A date was then set for the work to be done.
Nigel the plumber was brilliant, respected that my partner worked from home and was very considerate, especially as our cottage is on the small side. When the tiler Jay came in he was also very professional and did an amazing job, including making us bespoke shelves from the tiles.
Our bathroom now looks amazing we also had a new water system fit to last the next 20 years...all in all I recommend this company highly. From start to finish Bamfords have been patient and understanding with us and we have no hesitation in having them do more work for us next year.

The background to this review is that for several years I had a contract with a national provider for Electrical and Plumbing cover in case of breakdown or emergency. After several bad experiences I took the decision to cancel the contract and look for an alternative. I was looking for a company that could provide both plumbing and electrical work and that could be relied on to deliver a good service.
Now after almost a year and the need to call upon Bamfords on a number of occasions I feel able to write this review. Over the past year I have had several toilets go wrong, a leaking overflow, shower pump stop working and some minor electrical issues.
On each occasion they have responded in a totally professional manner from the time of making the phone call to the time an engineer has arrived to my house. Several times I have called and said that I needed a plumber urgently and without fail an engineer has appeared within 20 -30 minutes.
Although all the staff I have had dealings with have been excellent, I feel I especially need to mention Becky who has had to deal with a rather tense customer at times on the phone because something has gone wrong and each time she has called back to assure me somebody is on the way, excellent communication which really is what you need when you have an urgent requirement. Rob, who came to quote for a replacement shower pump and I didn't realise that he was Rob Bamford until he explained and now on several occasions has visited to look at various issues and given me confidence in the business and finally Nigel (plumber) who did an excellent job on my shower pump installation and when there were some minor issues could not have been more helpful in keeping in contact, working through the problem and sorting it out.
To sum up, I was looking for a company to carry out electrical and plumbing work that I could have confidence in for routine work and in case of emergency. I have found it.

Upon moving into our new house, we noticed things weren’t 100% with our boiler. We called for Bamfords, who straight away we’re very accommodating and had us seen as soon as possible. After a look around etc our boiler was deemed dangerous and was condemned there and then. They were fab at getting a new boiler fitted as soon as. Very friendly staff who worked very hard to get this done.

If zero stars were possible then this would be accurate.
An inadequate survey of my home resulted in a boiler that was unable to cope with size of my house.
During installation my carpet was damaged.
They removed dust sheets I laid and placed film over carpet.
This become torn and sludge and grime was walked in.
A crude attempt to clean was made with a tub of grime wipes.
A light fitting, a door vent and radiator valves were damaged.
They opened loft hatch with either a screwdriver or similar causing damage.
They made no attempt to respect my home.
They poured sludge into toilet not bothering to flush.
They left hallway radiator leaking after using it to drain.
Without talking to me placed a room thermostat on wall causing damage.
When challenged they walked out and refused to return until the other 50% was paid.
Trading standards advice was to get quote to fix damages.
It was only then I had the news the boiler was unfit for purpose, we had just thought the job was unfinished.
Had to go elsewhere and start over.

We have just had a new kitchen fitted and are delighted with the result. It was worth everything to have a firm who planned and carried out all the installation and who kept us informed who would be coming each day and what time they would be arriving. All Bamford's employees worked in a professional way and tidied up each day, which was a real bonus. The office staff were extremely helpful and dealt promptly with any queries. We would definitely recommend them. Thank you for our lovely new kitchen!

Bamfords did a great job removing our old back boiler and installing a new combi. Very quick, professional and tidy. Brilliant communication from the girls in the office too. Will definitely be recomending to our friends.
