Like everyone else here, I was scammed by these uncouth people. Abel came to my home, and then Ash when Abel could not remove a microwave oven. After paying their fees, they wanted $1,295 to fix a 16 year old washing machine and $500 o fix a 16 year old microwave. Needless to say, I did not go along. And I truly doubt their diagnostics for either because I now know they are scammers through and through. STAY AWAY. Do not call 866-840-9010.

An Appliance Repair Team technician came by within hours after I put in a washing machine service request online. The agreement was that the technician would provide a quote for fixing the machine. If I did not pursue with the quoted fix, I would have to pay $80 visit fee.

The technician's first response after staring at the machine for a few seconds was, "you're better off buying a new one." I asked him what the issue was with the machine. He said that would require him to run a diagnosis and would cost me about $300 (never heard before). He continued, "after the diagnosis, a repair may cost you anywhere between $400 to $800. Even after that, there is no guarantee that the issue would be fixed."

I didn't agree to (and wasn't confident) to spend over $300 on his diagnosis just to get a quote and spend another $400-$800 on a repair that wasn't guaranteed to fix the issue. So, the guy did not provide a quote but insisted that I pay the visit fee. Argument ensued between the two of us on the matter (I insisted "no quote, no visit fee". He insisted "no diagnosis, no quote"). My conclusion was that they were there just for the visit fee.

fast forward a year later, I had forgotten the matter until I received a letter from a collections agency recently for that visit fee. I reached out to their customer support and described what had happened. No, they won't listen. They just proved to me that they are truly the monster SCAMMERS!!

Do not trust this people. They are scammed. They are bunched of crooked employees. My dryer . I called thos company the initial deposit to visit is $80 to check. But if they open to see what is the problem of the dryer they will charge you $280. And if there more on to it that they need to order. They said I will only pay $455 that's it. They asked me to signed the paper . Then I found out that they cross out the amount we agreed about . They changed the amount to $770.

cannot trust them - damaged my stove, did not fill out warranty paperwork liked about warranty, did not connect parts fully, wires were not connected, put in parts that break down shortly after service, blamed surge protection on the house that has surge protection.......... awful terrible i lost $4000++ to this scam.

No stars - only giving them 1 cause I have to!!! This company is a scam! Do NOT use this company! They overcharge and do not actually fix appliances! They scammed my elderly mother and charged her $250 without actually fixing the dryer and then quoted that they needed an additional $560 for parts! SCAM ARTISTS!!! DO NOT USE!!!!

Complete scam. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Came out on a Sunday to repair our dryer. Was told the service charge would be $80. No premium for Sunday service. If we went ahead with the repair, they would waive the service fee. Once here, we were told $280 + parts if needed. Ripped our entire dryer apart and told us it was broken and we'd have to order new pulley system. Thought he might have the necessary part in the truck but, big surprise, it didn't fit. Put the dryer back together and we are no further ahead with the dryer but out of pocket $315.

They are a bunch of scammers. Without a doubt. 800 and no repair. Never use them. They take your money and do not repair their Google reviews are fake

This company was called to address a problem with our dryer. The heating coil was no longer working and it was occasionally making a noise. The technician came and replaced the heating coil for just under $1000.00. He convinced us that this was the better option to replacing the unit because the dryer would last for many years more. The next day the dryer stated to make a very high pitched screeching sound. We called them back and they sent a technician right away. He said that the drum was just off balance and would level out after a few weeks of running. It is now screeching non-stop while running and they say that they can come back but the service is not covered. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company.

This company is a massive scam. I paid 2660$ and the appliance is still not working. The quote was to repair the issue.I would call again since it still wasn’t working properly and every time it cost me for their labour and another part but of course never the right part…. The bills kept rising. This is a huge scam!!!! Run from them

The worst company that will scam you. Four visits and my washing machine still doesn’t work. I could have bought almost two new ones for the money they scammed from me.. Absolutely DO NOT call this company

Service Request: My tenant’s dishwasher was not cleaning the dishes. It was observed that the dishwashing pods/detergent was not fully being released from dispenser. I wanted Appliance Repair to diagnose what was wrong with the dishwasher to see if it is worth fixing or if it should instead be replaced.

Assessment of issue by Technician “Gary” (04/14/26): Cost of service to diagnose what is wrong with the dishwasher of $280 plus tax is accepted. I'm advised that the dispenser needs to be replaced to resolve the issue; price is quoted and accepted for replacement part and payment is processed during the service visit

2nd Visit (04/22/26): Replacement part is installed and advised that the dishwasher should now work correctly

Morning of 04/23/26: Tenant attempts to use dishwasher for the first time since service was provided by Gary and advises that the dishwasher is still not cleaning the dishes after a full cycle (the same as before the initial service), however dispenser door on new part is now functioning

Same day, I call back Appliance Repair to inform them that the dishwasher is still not working properly. My tenants receive a call that a Technician will arrive between 3-6 the same day to re-assess the issue. However, that appointment is later cancelled by Appliance Repair and re-scheduled for 04/25/26 between 10:00 – 1:00pm. Technician does not arrive on this day until 6:30pm. Neither my Tenants or myself received a call to advise that they would be late

Complaints about Service

Key Issue: Separate issue (heating system) was not discovered and communicated as part of the initial $280 plus tax assessment. There was more than one major issue with the dishwasher, one was identified and another major issue was not during the same assessment.

Consequence: not having all of the details about the current issues with the dishwasher resulted in me paying for an expensive part that on it’s own did not result in the dishwasher working correctly again, plus receiving a quote for an even more expensive part (over $700) during the second assessment.

Second Issue: Technician arrives nearly 6 hours late for scheduled service call and did not advise that they would not be arriving anywhere close to the scheduled service time. Myself and my Tenants both rearranged our schedules to be available for their arrival at the scheduled time and spent the entire day waiting for their arrival instead of attending to other priorities away from home. Upon arrival at 6:30pm on April 25th (instead of between 10:00am-1:00pm as scheduled) the technician “Gary” afforded no apology or accountability for being unacceptably late and instead said that if was your office’s responsibility to let me know that they were going to be late (which we were never contacted)

Outcome: paying for service and a replacement part to Appliance Repair of $973.46 in total that did not fix the dishwasher, plus needing afterwards to pay for a new dishwasher to ensure that my Tenants had one that worked.

I had a very disappointing experience with this company and would not recommend their services.

I initially paid $317 for a full diagnostic, with the understanding that all issues with my dryer would be identified. Based on that visit, I was told a specific part needed replacing, and I paid a 50% deposit for the repair.

When the technician returned to install the part, I was then told that another component is also broken and would cost an additional $370. This should have been identified during the initial assessment, especially since that is what the service fee was for. It feels misleading to continue adding unexpected costs after repairs have already started.

There were also several professionalism issues:

* I was given a time window of 10 AM – 1 PM, but the technician arrived early at 9:45 AM without notice
* Only one technician was sent for a stacked dryer, even though two were required during the initial visit
* I was asked to physically help move the unit, which is not appropriate and resulted in back strain

Overall, the experience felt disorganized, poorly communicated, and unprofessional. I would strongly recommend others get a second opinion before committing to any repairs with this company.

a mechanic came to fix or Microwave and charged 280.00 for a 10 mts assessment only to tell us that we need to replace a mother board for 390. We waited a day and called the company and they said it would cost 480. We could have bought a new one for less. These guys are scammers who prey of desperate customers. DO NOT TOUCH THEM!

Do not hire Appliance Repair Team. I hired them to repair my upright freezer. It shut off and started sparking two hours after the technician left. They came back three days later and said they had to order a part. Nothing for two weeks. Sent a third tech who said it was now the compressor. They refused to refund my money or do anything else for me. They have been reported a bunch of times to the BBB - stay away.

Scammers, he just vacumned the motor and charged me $290, and ask to buy the parts for $523.50, but when i checked online its only $30. Dont call this scammers..

Unfortunately, I did not research the company first and I also got scammed. The same process as others have described. $80 for the visit, $280 for the diagnostic which would cover also the visit fee, and then……$4,322 for parts if I wanted repaired. Of course I did not accept it. I called directly to the brand’s technical support. They sent a REAL qualified technician and guess what? The diagnosis was very different, parts were only $35 and problem fixed!!! The Appliance Repair Team refused to reimburse my money ($316 for the wrong diagnosis), of course…. Scammers!!!! Since you naively sign a form to do the diagnosis, I guess you can’t sue them. Smart scammers!!!

They are absolutely disgusting! I would NEVER hire them again! They ran 5 hours behind on my first appt. then wanted to come 9 at night. I declined. Next day for 11:00. I had to call them at 12:30, guy was behind once again. I reminded them I had to leave at 2:00. Guy showed up at 1:38 didn’t fix a thing and charged me $80. 12:05 today I called back. They wanted $240 BEFORE they would send a tech back out. I told them to stuff the $80 up their ass and… she hung up on me. Terrible customer service, rude to customers. Customer is NEVER right! They completely SUCK!!

If I could rate them -50981762 stars, I WOULD IN A HEARTBEAT. This company are SCAMMERS! They come in for an initial assessment and charge you a deposit, say they have to order parts that will take 5-7 business days, to get in. They will DELAY DEALY DELAY, and CANCEL MANY TIMES! Their “cancellation/refund policy” states the initial labour fee is non-refundable which is $80+ tax which is STATED ON THEIR WEBSITE, along with a restocking fee. YET, they will charge you DOUBLE that.

you CANT speak to higher up cause they will say the customer has “no way of directly doing that” but the customer service rep has to directly contact higher up on BEHALF of the client,EVEN IF the customer is Extremely upset and wants something to be done and a resolution. The only way to complain is to “send an email” which only goes to customer service and they say “it is being escalated” which is a LIE.

they said the part comes in and then they schedule a pereon and then the person says “oh there’s another part but the one i already have is the wrong one”

Do not hire these scammers. I am surprised they are still in business. The came out to repair dryer. "Technician" could not repair charged 500 for parts and labour did not provide for a total of 787.00 FOR A REPAIR. Dryer is still sitting unrepaired after 10 days AND I STUPIDLY GAVE THEM $521.00. Asked for a refund but they said that the document I signed (for the entire labour cost and part) was not refundable and to read the fine print. THEY HAVEN'T EVEN DONE THE JOB!

I used The A Team Repair in the Kitchener–Waterloo area for a washing machine repair.
The experience overall was pretty frustrating. The first visit happened past the scheduled window, and after saying they needed a part (which was supposed to take 5 business days), the follow-up got rescheduled three times. It ended up taking about a month total.
On the day they finally came back, there was no call ahead like expected, so I was in a meeting when they arrived. The interaction itself also felt a bit off: no greeting, and they kept pointing out lint in my dryer multiple times even after I acknowledged it.
Also worth noting they only accept debit or cash.

Overall, the repair got done, but the delays and customer experience weren’t great.
