Completely fraudulent service ... my fault for believing in Google sponsored ads but want to share so others do not fall into the same trap.

First warning sign was how evasive they were about providing a range of prices upfront.

Second sign was the technician basically looked at the microwave and decided right there that it would cost XXX amount for the onsite call.

Third sign was then making an unintelligible call to the office and then said it had to be send to the office for further repair for an additional XXX amount.

The final cost was an exorbitant amount for a microwave repair ... would have been cheaper to purchase a new one. Gave me a bogus excuse as to why new parts and fuses are needed when it is just a door latch problem.

Found out afterwards this company is under investigation. This is on me and hope no one else will be scammed by them.

My 85 year old mother , had an appliance repair service (The A Team appliance Repair) come to diagnose/repair and GE fridge. On the phone advised $80 service call fee. Charged her $280, and wanted to charge $800 for more parts to repair something ( for a fridge not worth $1000).
And also left her fridge in the middle of the kitchen.

This company needs to be prosecuted and charged with fraud.

Ps. And owe my mother $200.

Horrible. Was told that visit was $80. Repair technician charged $293 for one hour "labour" where he only diagnosed a problem that would cost me almost as much as I paid for my stove--$1200+. I sent him on his way--$293 poorer. Posting this as a warning--a bait and switch.

I wouldn’t even give 1 star to these crooksters. Their tech guy was a dumb fellow. He didn’t know anything about the oven, neither they are authorized to deal with it. Yet charged me 315 cad and said replacement will cost 3700.

I got it checked with another agency, they fixed it for 200 cad. This agency is a lie. Don’t fall prey to it.

On March 8, 2026, I contacted a company called THE A TEAM APPLIANCE REPAIR to fix my dishwasher. The technician came, didn’t repair anything, and said the drain pump was damaged. He told me the repair would cost $1000, and I paid $500 upfront that same day.

They were supposed to come back on March 15 with the replacement part, but they never showed up. Then again on March 21, they said they would come, and again they didn’t show up.

After that, I asked for my money back, and they told me they would not refund me.

They scammed me out of my money.

Had me waiting 5 months for repair of my wall microwave and French door fridge evethough we had given a deposit. The fridge was not even ckd he just assumed we needed a new part a few hrs my husband fixed the problem (ice cube stuck). I called to cancel repair and they said we could not cancel and we still would get charged. After many calls, they kept on promising to come fix microwave but never showed up after making many appointments. Overall I would definitely NOT recommend this company for any repairs. STAY AWAY!!

Absolute scam! They advised me of a $80 fee to have a technician come and inspect our broken dryer. Once they arrived, the technician spent 40-minutes running "tests", which included turning the dyer on and off. Afterwards, he said that it had to be replaced, and then would not leave until we paid the $200 labour fee. When I called the customer service line, they informed me that they have a script to read and that the $80 is just for them to drive to your house. Once you let them in, they will charge you labour, despite not telling you this.

When I questioned them on the "script" I was told that it is basic and anyone could understand it, so they were unsure why I couldn't.

Absolutely a scam, save your money!

I highly recommend Maydone Appliance Repair, where they charged a $120 fee that actually included a robust inspection of the machine.

Were were charged a fee to service a main board on a microwave and they advised the part was over $300 and back ordered. The appliance was already partially uninstalled to access the panel. We declined fixing it were charged 280 plus tax and to remove 3 screws.
I ordered the part online myself and got 2 for $30. Called and inquired how they could have a 1000% mark up and they said it was shipping and handling. This company takes advantage of seniors and is literally a scam. Avoid at all costs.

I think this company is only in business to collect service charges. I had an issue with a microwave oven door that no longer opened. It was diagnosed as a bad latch mechanism and it would cost roughly $250 for the replacement part, labor and tax bring it to $450. Most brand new microwaves are less than that estimate.

Quick check shows the replacement part should cost $25-$35.

Listen up, folks! If you value your hard-earned money and the sanity of your kitchen, steer clear – and I mean vehemently avoid – the absolute disaster that is the "A Team" appliance repair. These aren't repair professionals; they're a pack of incompetent cowboys who managed to turn a minor inconvenience into a full-blown appliance nightmare and a gaping hole in my wallet.
My saga began with a simple ice buildup issue in my Samsung French Door refrigerator. What did the "A Team" diagnose? A so-called "known issue" requiring an $850 fix involving an additional heater element. Foolishly, I shelled out the cash. For a glorious two weeks, my fridge functioned. Then, the racket started – a loud, incessant noise emanating from the condenser fan.
Trusting their supposed three-year warranty, I called them back. What followed was an unbelievable display of sheer ineptitude. These clowns spent TWO HOURS attempting to pry open my refrigerator panel, leaving it visibly DAMAGED in the process. And their expert conclusion? "Everything is fixed, no issues here!"
Surprise, surprise. Twenty-four hours later, my refrigerator was as warm as a summer's day. Another call to this band of merry pranksters revealed their real diagnosis: a faulty main board, requiring an additional $750. Are you kidding me?! This is nothing short of a blatant SCAM!
Fortunately for me, and unfortunately for these charlatans, their entire bumbling performance was caught on camera. They can try to refute this all they want, but the evidence speaks for itself.
To every hardworking individual out there who doesn't want to be fleeced by these so-called repairmen, take my word for it: the "A Team" is a fraud. They are incompetent, they cause damage, and they will bleed you dry with their never-ending list of "necessary" repairs. They deserve nothing less than to be sued for their malpractice. DO NOT let these people anywhere near your appliances! You've been warned.

Terrible!!! Was charged over $900.00 to repair my dryer and it doesn’t work!! They won’t send a repair technician without charging us. Be very careful if you call them and be prepared to pay a lot!!! It was $300.00 before a part was even ordered. I was completely ripped off!! Check the reviews on the better business bureau!!!!

I would never recommend this company. They are a fraudulent company praying on victims all across the GTA! I was one of them. They told me it would be an 80 service call fee which would be waived if I decided to have them repair my dryer. The Technician by the abbreviation of ALB advised I needed a new heating element and idle pulley for a grand total of $926. My gut instinct said don’t trust them. I’m glad I didn’t trust them and had a tech from GNA Appliance come out and the heating element was working and it was just a lint build up!! Beware of the A Team Appliance Repair!! They are scammers taking advantage of the consumers!! Do Not Use them!!!!

I recently called this company to come repair my gas oven. I had to call them back 3 times to fix my oven. It was constant strong smell of gas and then after the 3rd time a burning smell.

I called in another company and we took photos. This A Team Appliance repair used the wrong part, broke the part to make it work. jammed it so the gas was too far from the igniter and the wires in the back were burnt black to a crisp. The 3 techs that came were not knowledgeable and told me to just turn the fan on to remedy the situation. My house could have burnt down, the smell of gas was unbearable and they only take cash or debit to avoid refunding anyone. This is a dangerous situation and they need to be stopped. They hide behind the same response that they have been in business 17 years. It is horrific, I do not think these people are certified. Please investigate this company before someone gets killed.

Multiple complaints have been filed with BBB and consumer alert and they have been on Market Place several times!
Repair man tried to charge me $300 to “calibrate” my LG washing machine. We knew it was the water pump that needed replacing. He refused to look at the pump before doing the $300 calibration and then would not tell us what the pump replacement was going to cost, once he had done his bogus “calibration”. We followed our gut feeling and asked him to leave paying him the $90 service call. We then followed-up with LG and several other repair people and all of them confirmed that this “calibration” of the machine is not a thing. We have since had the pump replaced and that was all that was needed. I am so glad we stopped it when we did.

DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE! They are frauds and thieves. They came to fix our washer/dryer combo and demanded $617 before they did anything. Then the man who came who smelled like he bathed in cologne (I will not even call him a repairman) took some parts off and said "It's the board and we have to order it" - 2 weeks later he came back and took more parts off of the machine and then said "It's the wrong size board" - Then left never to return. We had a machine in pieces and my 82 year old aunt ripped off for $617.

And it sat for nearly 2 months while we tried to get them to either come back and fix the machine or refund the money. They stopped communicating and kept the money.

We finally got a local guy in who said that it was a door latch and nothing to do with the board and that the guy didn't even access the area where the board is on the machine.

We have gone to the news and they are going to do a report and we will be going to the police file fraud charges.

This company is just one name of a company that has many websites and many names. None of them have office locations listed and they have no names or clearly made up names.

Worst of all is they say they are certified by the appliance companies to do repairs and we contacted three or four companies they say they are registered at and they are registered with none of them. So they will tell you they are allowed to do warrantied repairs and the manufactuer will reimburse you. This is a lie. LG - GE -Maytag all said they do not recognize them as licensed repair people.

If I could rate a 0 I would. DO NOT use this company. They are corrupt, overcharge and so unprofessional - they are scammers. We had a second opinion and this trusted individual let us know that they tried to break our dryer. Stay far away!!!

I did not look at the reviews before calling. I have a very sick mother and simply wanted to get my washer fixed. They came and said it was be $300 for the labour and would waive the $80 technical call fee. Sounds good. Then 10 minutes later after I paid - it was $500 just for a door lock mechanism! Amazon sells this for $45. What a scam.

Just got scammed by A Team appliance. They charges me $750 to fix an old washing machine. Then took my money and told me it was unfixable. Should have known they are scammers when they refused to take credit cards. No access to a manager is unacceptable.

The worst service we have ever encountered!!! Do everything you can to stay away from this company!!!
Three weeks without our Sub Zero fridge and $3000 later and the fridge still does not work!!!
The 'part' they installed did nit fix the problem and now they want another $3000 for another part.
Massive scamming and technician totally in on it....this has been a nightmare!!!!

This company deserves ZERO stars! Booked for a technician to come out to service an appliance. I was told the cost would be $80 for the service call after which he would provide an estimate for the repairs (labour & parts).

Once the fellow arrived, he mentioned a service charge of $290! This was not disclosed at the time of the booking and since he did NOTHING to even open up the appliance to provide any indication of what the problem might be I asked him to leave.

He has left an invoice for $80 which is not going to be paid as they did not disclose their shady practice of asking for $290 as soon as he came through the door without any diagnosis. They have a horrible review with the Better Business Bureau as well! DO NOT CONTACT THEM!
