Trash. We planned to see my elderly mother who I haven’t seen in 4 yrs on May 29th for my birthday. Spirit went out of business and they took a $200 fee instead of rebooking us with another airline. We were better off doing a charge back so we could get our money back and book another flight. I DO NOT recommend them. They prey on the people who can’t afford to pay for their tickets in full, up front. In this economy, them taking those $200 in “fees” most definitely delayed our trip. Now we’re just going to save and pay the tickets in full. This is a lesson, never again. It seems like a good option but its not. I hope these money hungry mfers go out of business.

We’re sorry Spirit Airlines ceased operations and understand how disappointing this was. A few important points of clarification for accuracy regarding what occurred here:

When Spirit shut down, you were offered two options: rebook on a different airline and pay any fare difference, or receive a refund of the fare cost paid so far. You chose the refund option, which was processed accordingly.

The fee you’re referring to is Airfordable’s service fee, which is separate from the airline ticket cost. It was disclosed as non-refundable at checkout, which you agreed to before purchase.

Our technology locked in your fare to prevent price increases and allowed you to pay in installments without a credit check from your booking date until the airline’s closure. Fares on your route increased multiple times during that period; however, yours did not because of our service. The ability to lock in your fare and pay over time without a credit check is part of the value Airfordable provides, and that service was rendered to you throughout the duration of your payment plan.

The airline’s shutdown was outside our control and unrelated to Airfordable.

Our mission is to make travel more accessible to everyone, so if you’re now in a position to pay for travel upfront yourself, we genuinely consider that a win for travel and hope you're able to see your mother soon.

can’t say enough good things about Air Affordable. When everything started happening with Spirit Airlines, I was honestly stressed and unsure what to do. I emailed them, and within two hours, they had already taken care of everything and rebooked my flight with Southwest Airlines.
The quick turnaround and clear communication gave me so much peace of mind. They truly turned a stressful situation into a smooth experience. Amazing customer service!

Airfordable provided misleading and…

Airfordable provided misleading and unreliable customer service. I requested a simple ticket update (adding a middle name), and their representative claimed they had contacted the airline and that the request was denied due to “policy restrictions.” After verifying directly with the airline, I learned those claims were inaccurate and the request could have been handled.

They misrepresented airline policies, gave conflicting information, and closed my case stating they had “exhausted all options” without actually resolving the issue. This reflects a lack of transparency and accountability.

I would not recommend using this service, especially for anything requiring customer support or changes to a booking.

Update. They continue to blame it on the airline* Airline did fix the issue, aifordable did nothing to help. Check all the reviews they always blaming someone else but never themselves. A joke of company. Soon to be gone.

That said, this situation was not due to misinformation or any error on Airfordable's end. Customers are required to enter passenger details exactly as shown on their ID at the time of booking, as this is strictly enforced.

Unfortunately, the name you entered at booking did not match the passenger's ID, despite clear instructions during the booking process to enter information exactly as it appears on a government-issued ID.

As a courtesy and in the spirit of assisting our customers within the scope of our capabilities, we contacted the airline multiple times on your behalf, and each time the request was denied based on their name correction policy for third-party bookings — a policy we have no authority to override. We relayed everything exactly as communicated by the airline to you at that time.

Fortunately, records show that the airline added the middle name of the passenger on the day of travel, on 4/12, and the passenger used the ticket as intended without any issues.

For future bookings, we strongly encourage ensuring all passenger details match your government-issued ID exactly before booking.

Could be better!

Have used Airfordable on about 4 occasions. This time will probably be my last. They claimed the price increased on their end but for the same flight itinerary, after several refreshes, my end continued to show the price I submitted. Not only that, they claim to be connected with American Airlines through their app but their app doesn’t even show all flights available. Granted the difference wasn’t too significant, but it’s the principle of transparency and still charging customers for mistakes that maybe their system isn’t catching. Then having to pay additional service fees because of an increase that again, their system is supposedly catching that isn’t happening anywhere else. Customers already have to pay a few hundred in service fees depending on flights. I just feel it’s important to take accountability when your systems mess up, instead of having the customer deal with that and actually try to find solutions to the problems at hand, instead of repeating the same copy and pasted script in response to an issue.

To address your concern directly: airline websites cache fares, meaning the price displayed in your browser does not always reflect actual live inventory. The price our system receives is pulled from the airline's live inventory system at the time you book. This is how airline distribution systems works across all platforms, including the airline's own website. So a refreshed webpage does not guarantee the fare is still available at that price until checkout is completed. Had you booked directly with the airline or any other platform, you would have received an error or a repriced fare at checkout.

As a result, this was not a system error on our end.  You were given the option to proceed at the updated price,  choose a different flight, or cancel for a full refund. You chose to proceed with the updated pricing.  Our service fee is tied to the total ticket cost, so when the fare increased, the fee adjusted accordingly. In this case by $10, which you agreed to. Your booking and payment plan were confirmed thereafter, which you acknowledged.

Thank you again for the feedback and an opportunity to clarify what occurred. We value your business, appreciate your loyalty, and hope to assist you on your next trip.

Airfordable misrepresents airline policies and does NOTHING to help when you have a family emergency

Airfordable refused to properly review or escalate a legitimate compassionate request related to a family medical emergency. They provided inconsistent and misleading information about refund options and airline policies, and insisted that I either complete the entire payment plan or forfeit all payments already made.

I booked a flight through Airfordable using their installment plan. Before the final payment was due, I contacted Airfordable to request a compassionate review due to a family member being in end-of-life care. I asked what documentation was needed and requested escalation to a supervisor.

Airfordable representatives repeatedly refused escalation, stating they were the highest authority. They also made several contradictory and misleading claims, including:

• Stating that airlines “do not offer compassionate waivers,” which is not accurate
• Requesting a death certificate even after I clarified the person is critically ill but still alive
• Later claiming they only accept medical documentation for the traveler, not the family member (never disclosed upfront)
• Offering no meaningful review or solutions other than:
– Forfeit all payments, or
– Complete the entire payment plan

The company refused to conduct a fair review, provided conflicting policy explanations, and did not act in good faith when I requested reasonable accommodations before the ticket was ever issued.

I have requested a full refund at this time due to horrible lack of customer service, misleading and unclear policies, and the overall bad experience using this company. I will never use them again and I will let everyone I know not to either.

Your request was reviewed; however, because the booking was made under a non-refundable fare class, airlines only consider refund exceptions with official documentation for the passenger on the reservation, such as a death certificate or medical documentation confirming the passenger’s inability to travel, which has not been provided prior to this review or to date. This is an airline-mandated policy, which you referenced and acknowledged, yet have still not provided the required documentation for review.

I just tried to book a flight but was…

I just tried to book a flight but was told my account has been suspended due to a chargeback. It was stated that the charge was never refunded to the company. My authorized credit card, in which there are 3 of us, was reported for various charges that were not ours. The bank flagged all charges in a specific timeframe and we went through charges one by one. The airfordable payments were not affected. This company is horrible and I am a travel advisor and though about recommending them to my clients but this is bad business. I have asked for their legal department and Ama stopped responding. There should be an internal review process. Saying it is a final decision with no proof that the charges were not refunded to my account is absurd. Afterpay and Klarna is better than this foolishness. Furthermore, when the process supposedly happened they communicated nothing or asked anything.

Update: No thanks! Who offers someone to provide proof on an irreversible decision? Waste of time. Everyone just find another company to go to. They have 2 stars for a reason. This was for $52.00 that was not returned to me as well but the company states they never got refunded….so that speaks volumes. Poor customer service and resolution skills.

Unfortunately, once a chargeback is filed and finalized against Airfordable for valid charges, it triggers an account restriction under the Terms of Service agreed to at sign-up and at the time of booking. Our records confirm that those funds were not returned to us, even though you used the ticket, and we have no ability to reverse that outcome.

As a small business, these safeguards exist to protect the platform. As with the services you mentioned and most companies, malicious or wrongful chargebacks also result in account restrictions—this is not an uncommon practice.

If you believe the dispute was filed in error, all documentation can be retrieved directly from your bank, and you’re welcome to work with them regarding any resolution.

While we regret that this limits your ability to use our platform, the restriction remains permanent and serves as a necessary safeguard against chargeback abuse.

Why is the founder operating the customer chat?

I booked tickets in April for a United flight that had a connecting flight through Silver Airways in June. Silver went bankrupt a week before my trip and I had to change my ticket on United to a ticket of less value. Unbeknownst to me, the difference was immediately refunded to Airfordable from United and I was told by United to contact the travel agency. That day I contacted Ama, the founder of Airfordable, who for some reason operates the chat. I provided an attachment with a receipt of the ticket change and asked for a refund. She responded explaining Airfordable's refund process stating that I had to request the refund from United. Lots of back and forth and finger pointing. Turns out United had already refunded the ticket to Airfordable the same day without any action on my part. According to Miss Ama, without specific information she could not investigate my request. But I provided the receipt? Anyway, my refund is being processed finally, 18 days later. Without my insistence, my refund would have continued sitting in Airfordable's account. Very unprofessional and disappointing as a black consumer of black-owned businesses.

I did take my flight though!

My flight was cancelled

My flight was cancelled due to them charging a card I no longer had access to. When I reached out to express the issue that my flight was cancelled without my consent and I was told a $50 reinstatement fee would be charged to continue booking the flight.

I would recommend splitting the payments up yourself. A $50 reinstatement fee is absurd on a $130 ticket purchase. $25 would’ve been manageable but at this point it’s obvious they are just trying to make money any way possible.

Save the money yourself in increments. It’s actually a waste of time in the end to utilize this app when you could just set aside the arrangements yourself. You would think the purpose of the app is to be more efficient when planning travel rather than a set up to get more money from you.

I also did flight comparisons daily when searching for flights and many times the prices would fluctuate. I’m glad I didn’t go for a much larger flight plan, I can grapple with losing $80 but anything higher than that would’ve sent me reeling!

Also giving someone only 24 hours to cancel a flight is…inconvenient. I normally plan ahead so not everyone is taking last minute flights but things happen and you should be able to cancel with more time in mind.

To be honest

To be honest, this app really not worth it. The high amounts they charge in the splits and the total value they add on to the bills is extremely ridiculous!!! While I know that there must be fees added as a payment, what they are asking for is crazy! Haven’t used it because when you calculate the additional fee they adding on it’s really not worth it.

I used Airfordable 2 years ago to go to Colombia on vacation not one problem paid down payment and 4 more after that ticket was emailed 2 minutes later after last payment no issues also I just booked a ticket to Bangkok yesterday 10/17/24 down payment was 541 this morning I was refunded because Airfordable couldn’t get the ticket they told me change dates so I did hope this time I can get confirmed so all the haters talking about Airfordable it’s either you don’t read terms or don’t make payment or cancelled flight after 24 hours THX AIRFORDABLE MY BANGKOK TRIP CONSISTS OF A LAYOVER OF 18 hours in TOKYO JAPAN CANT WAIT

To clarify, only one option shows for economy. When checked today that option isnt there forthe exact same flight also been in communication with the airline . Funny business but I dont recommend, at least there are other options we all can use such as affirm if push comes to shove.

To clarify, the fare class you selected, EconomyLight, is a restricted option with limited amenities, and its lower price reflects these limitations. You chose this fare class from among other available options, fully aware of its restrictions.

The baggage allowance and other policies were clearly outlined during the booking process, as dictated by the airline. Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to change these policies. For future trips, we recommend considering a higher fare class that, while more expensive, includes additional amenities that are usually more favorable for the average traveler.

Your booking was canceled after several failed payment attempts since July 15th. This is a valid reason for cancellation, as per our terms of service. You were notified after each failed payment attempt via 3 communication channels: in-app notification, email, and text message with instructions to rectify the issue but did not resolve the issue. As a result, it was canceled due to you not fulfilling the payment plan obligation you agreed to.

As a small business, reviews play a crucial role in our reputation and success. Writing false information in reviews is not only disheartening but also unfair to our company after we successfully helped you book five reservations that you have taken and used since May 2024. We have always been here to assist you whenever you have reached out.

I would give zero stars if possible

I would give zero stars if possible. This is the worst company to deal with. 24 Hours after booking any payments made are non-refundable. READ ALL TERMS OF AGREEMENT. I was short on funds on my final payment after paying over $900.00 and the representative Ama told me that if I did not make a payment that day on my final payment than my entire booking would be cancelled with no refund. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

However, you declined this option and chose to pay the last installment in full as originally scheduled.

I’m currently using this for my ticket for a vacation I have planned this fall. The payments are super easy and affordable. Plus you get the ticket wayyyy before the departure date, which is so much easier. It’s nice that I don’t have to stress about that.

All good things come to an end

Ever since airfordable updated their app to offer the option to generate flight itineraries instead of using screenshots, I had 2 experiences in the past 2 weeks where I booked a trip (on 2 seperate occasions) and they ended up having to refund me with no penalty when I submitted screenshots for flight itineraries that were cheaper than what they offered through the app... I didn't get notice until nearly 14 hours after confirmation that my flight "was no longer available"... thats bad business in my opinion but I know nothing happens without reason. Good luck to those who use the service but they won't get my patronage ever again 👎🏾

I always use Airfordable

I always use Airfordable, and I’ve never had an issue. I’ve had to cancel a flight before and they tell you the cost is non-refundable if you cancel after 24 hours of booking. If people don’t read that part, that’s on them. I love it to snag the good rate before prices go up, and it really is a worry free system. You pay a little more due to their service fee but if you don’t have all the money upfront for your flight, it’s worth it

Amazing experience with this company

Amazing experience with this company! I booked a flight to Panama and was able to afford a first class ticket because of their payment plan options. With the rising costs of flights and travel, options like Airfordable allow you to reserve the best price instead of waiting until you get all of your funds in order to book! We all know that if you wait, the ticket price can increase astronomically.
