From the very start of meeting the staff to purchasing our mattresses to the delivery of our purchase we were treated extremely well by all the sales team and the delivery drivers It was a pleasure to do business with such lovely people

My wife and I purchased an adjustable bed with a memory foam and hybrid mattress combination from Adjusta at a trade show, hoping it would enhance our sleep quality. Unfortunately, it has done the exact opposite. From the beginning, our experience has been frustrating and deeply disappointing.

The initial memory foam mattress we received failed to expand properly and was completely unusable. To their credit, Adjusta did replace it with a pre-expanded one, but the problems didn’t stop there.

One of the main issues is the design — any slight shoulder tilt during sleep causes me to slide down the bed, often ending up with my feet hanging over the edge. Despite trying every possible combination of adjustments, neither of us has had a full night’s rest since the bed arrived.

Most concerning is the impact on our health. My wife, who has never experienced back pain in her life, now wakes up every morning complaining of discomfort. She has since refused to sleep on the bed altogether.

When we contacted Adjusta to express our concerns and request a refund, we were told it could take up to three months for our bodies to adjust to the mattress — a claim that was never mentioned during the sales pitch. Had we known this, we would have reconsidered the purchase entirely.

The bed is simply not fit for purpose and certainly does not deliver on the promises made by the sales team of a luxurious and restful night’s sleep. We feel misled, and the overall experience has left us regretting our decision. We are currently seeking a refund and hope Adjusta takes responsibility for this inadequate product.

Extremely Disappointed – Avoid Adjusta Bed

We purchased a split queen Adjusta Bed from the Auckland Easter Show in April 2024 and have regretted it ever since. The sales rep misled us about the company’s size and support network, claiming they had a large local presence, when in reality, they’re based in Australia with a registered office at an accounting firm in Auckland.

Both my husband and I woke up with sore bodies from day one, despite being told the mattresses were designed to relieve joint pressure. My husband eventually received a firmer mattress—at cost—which thankfully resolved his pain. I chose not to spend more money, but my soft mattress has caused ongoing neck and back issues I never had before.

Five months ago, I requested the same firmer mattress and was promised delivery. Despite numerous follow-ups and empty promises, I still haven’t received it. I even raised the issue at the Auckland Home Show directly with someone claiming to be an owner—still nothing. Instead, I got a phishing marketing email from them shortly after.

In short: terrible product (at least the soft mattress), shockingly poor after-sales service, and misleading sales tactics. For the price, you’re far better off going with a reputable competitor.

I am about to purchase an adjustamattress which was at the home show in Sydney on the 18/5/2025 reading these reviews have me worried as I put down a deposit of $500 & when I got home & read the fine print it stated that if I changed my mind I lose my deposit.
Someone rang me that night to advise that delivery would be in 2 days whereby I will pay the rest of the money $6300. The mattress is a deluxe queen.

We bought our mattress in 2020 for nearly $8,500. The mattresses recently started separating leaving a large gap down the middle of the bed. Apparently the business was sold in 2021 leaving our warranty void. I would expect the two single mattresses to last longer than 5 years. Appalling customer service.

The bed to small and we request to change a bigger one and they said YES but they cant give us what we asked. Its already been a long time, we hoping they will keep their promise.

This product was purchased for medical reasons. Product has defects, no after sales follow-up, person from New Zealand contacted late evening, returned call following day- message bank- no return call. Now left with faulty product and No bed.

Worst customer service ever. Not really happy with the bed, but more aggravating is the lack of communication. Do not recommend !

We went to a show - Kind of got talked into buying - we didnt have the money however we decided to see if we could get a loan - I asked the assistant if we would get our deposit back if we didn't get finance - she told me yes - (I would not have put down a deposit if she had said no as there was no way we could come up with 8 grand) -so we put down the deposit and got in touch with a few companies - Anyway couldn't get finance as Hubbie is on a Temp contract - Contacted company and have heard nothing have been emailing for the last month - NOTHING

We were approached in the walkway at a 4wd and Camping show in Perth in March by a new sales consultant, asking us to try their bed. The "sales manager" then stepped in and upped the
pressure. We walked away, pondering whether or not go to ahead with an almost 8k purchase of their King Bed. At the end of the day, We were in two minds and We were standing at a different stall, when they approached us again, and pushed my hubby, who then pushed me into agreeing. They pushed us to sign up with a buy now pay later facility (go into debt essentially). So we're told given he likes a firm bed and I like a super soft one, we should get two different mattresses that would match in appearance and when made up as a King bed, would be unnoticeable. The bed was delivered two days later. Well one mattress was smaller but neither were the same comfort level as what we had tried at the show. We contacted the office, who sent out a replacement for my side, with one that was identical, again too small and far too hard. Again, we complained, requesting the beds be returned and our purchased cancelled. We were now sleeping on the floor on our old mattress as both of us were in so much pain from these new mattresses. Adjusta refused to take away the beds, instead sent out two new mattresses from there QLD warehouse. One of which was now a completely different height to the one that sits next to it, as well as being a completely different style. I.e. Pillow top verses solid one piece. Leaving a very visible Ridge on the bed when made up. My side was softer, and hubby's also softer but, no way acceptable as now the bed is aesthetically unappealing to look at. The response from the lady at head office was we don't make the beds to be aesthetically pleasing, they're a medical product. After kicking up a stink the response was, we'll pay for you to put some rubber under the mattress to bring it up to height. Ummmm. NO! For 8K, I want a bed that is what it should be.
At the time we still had the other two mattresses, one being my original one which has now expanded slightly and is soft enough that hubby tolerates it. However, both of us are in constant pain and the bed is not comfortable. I personally wake up every day with sore shoulders as well as a sore back. Hubby is also constantly sore. We have again advised we're still not happy, and have had no further response. I have requested multiple time we want the beds taken away, to which ADJUSTA MATTRESS REFUSE.
AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE. YOU DO NOT GET ANY RISK FREE PURCHASE WITH THEM AT ALL. ALMOST $8000 for a bed that causes pain is disgusting. Next step is Consumer Protection.

Worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with. Multiple emails to them about a mattress that was delivered and found to be defective and no one responding. I’ve requested a refund due to how bad the mattress is defective and they said “no we don’t do refunds” so I’ve just filed with the disputes tribunal. Please do not buy from the company cause if you have issues they will not help you.

We went to the boat show in Auckland before we flew out to Christchurch for the weekend. The sales experience was awesome. Felt comfortable on the bed and with our decision to buy. Upon our return our new bed was ready to be delivered! The communication was brilliant.
The guys were friendly and set it all up.
Since sleeping on the bed, we have had the best sleep every night. We went away for the weekend and missed it so much.
As we are not getting any younger, I can see this being a great asset.
It would have been amazing a few years ago when I suffered a freak accident at work.

I found this mattress at the Newcastle caravan and camping show. I tried it and was sold. It’s for my caravan and I haven’t looked back. I used to wake up in the night chocking with my breathing. I now sleep with the mattress in the anti snore position adjusted down a little and with one pillow. I haven’t had this happen again since getting the mattress. The zero gravity to watch tv or read is excellent. The caravan bed is also easier to make as you put the head up to 90 degrees and just slip the fitted sheet on. I set the foot massage on when I wake in the night and it sends me straight back to sleep. I also don’t stagger out of bed in the morning now all stiff. Everyone deserves one of these great mattresses and I have just purchased 2 super kings, one for my Son and one for my Daughter. The company bent over backwards to help me with delivery to my kids as unlike me they hadn’t tried the 3 different feels of soft, medium and hard/hybrid so they took all 6 mattresses to their home so they could choose.

Purchased bed after successful experience with company in 2019. Problems with this bed from day 1. It is much softer than my ex partners and much more difficult to get out of. The power supply to the bed becomes disconnected every time I lower the foot of the bed. I have had phone calls and multiple emails from the company but they will not send someone out to look at the fault without a call out fee. I have had recent hip replacement surgery so constantly getting down to get the bed to function is painful. I want the bed gone now. I have had enough. I am sick of it breaking down and not working. I don’t have the health to manage this. My next steps will be reporting to the Australian Consumer complaints commission. I received no warranty or guarantee on purchase. I was told these are online. A limited warranty is on line but terms and condition cannot be accessed. This is in breach of consumer law. Update 7/2/24. The company have sent someone out to fix the problem. Because it was an issue I could have fixed myself the wanted to charge me the call out fee, but this was rescinded if I removed my Google review. I could not have fixed it myself as I have had a hip replacement and reaching under the bed is painful. I am not convinced the bed will continue to operate consistently. I would not trust this company again.

Found this expensive product at the Auckland Home Show. The Adjusta electric mattress arrived 12/09/23. The next day I rang the sales rep to say, take it away, and have emailed the company multiple times since saying it's not fit for purpose, it increases my pain levels, I cannot get a good sleep, let alone the refreshing sleep it offers. The zero gravity position is awful, puts legs up in the air, which made my nerves jump, and head way up, not suitable for scoliosis, neck/spine injuries. The anti-snore position is no better, therefore it's again unsuitable. The mattress is flat out hard. Belated literature states no home trial and it can take 10-12 weeks to adjust to the mattress. No thanks! Offers to add in a mattress topper and a different mattress, but must come with their base and more $ doesn't work for me. Should we worry that the company has been removed this month from the Companies Office in NZ? I want it gone today and a full refund. How many times and in how many ways do I have to say this? My rights under the consumer guarantee act are being ignored, as is my right of return. I'm apparently stuck with what I have, however they eventually sent me two topper pads, later changed to a queen, to hopefully soften the firmness. I'm disappointed. Mattresses were swapped out 3 times, waiting on the fourth! They are uneven in height and density! They need way more transparency in their dealings. I understand it is illegal to refuse money back and product return if not fit for purpose. This product is not making me pain free, as advertised, therefore not fit for purpose. I am now being ignored by them.
Update as of 28/6/24. I am not experiencing any health benefits. I have detailed all to Fair Trading Syndey and Auckland. I cannot see how this company can get away with no trial and no refund.
Update as of 28/8/24. Still waiting for further 4th replacement mattresses as one is too soft and lower than the other which is much firmer. Been waiting 3 months.
Be wary. I don't recommend.
