Me done the three peak challenge with chris and decided to dod the mt toubkal trek and it was really good from start to finish he had a good team of people from the guide up the mountain to the people looking after us at aroumd the village we stayed at the bottom of the mountain. He booked us a really nice celebration meal at the dar essay resteraunt and also booked us a camel ride with quads in the desert. So this trip is definitely worth the bank for your buck.

Chris and he's crew were amazing . No faffing. Did the challenge were great. I would recommend it yo anyone. I didn't know i had it in me yo complete a challenge this difficult, especially Ben Nevis and was thinking of giving up but Chris had other thoughts. Definitely no faffing which made me realise how much I can do and without Chris and his team it wouldn't have been possible. I would highly recommend active mountaineering to anyone because the organisation of the whole challenge were perfect and timely well presented and prepared

I recently completed the 3 Peaks Challenge with Active Mountaineering and it was an experience of a lifetime. Everything was so well organised, right down to the finest details, which made the whole challenge run smoothly from start to finish.

Chris was absolutely fantastic – knowledgeable, encouraging, and made us feel completely safe in his hands, even when we were being pushed right to our limits. What stood out was how he managed to combine the tough physical challenge with moments of laughter, which kept the whole group motivated and positive.

I couldn’t recommend Active Mountaineering more highly. If you’re looking for a challenge that’s both tough and unforgettable, with expert guidance every step of the way, this is it!

What a weekend, National 3 Peaks in 24 hrs!!!! Would not have been possible without Chris and his team. The whole challenge was down to a tee! Absolutely no FAFFING!!!! Highly recommend if ur thinking on taking on this challenge!!!

Absolutely no Faffing !!! This is the company you want, look no further for a genuine 24hrs 3 peaks challange and an achievement worth having. You will be pushed to you're absolute limit. Chris is an amazing guide without him im positive id have failed to the first hurdle ( Nevis) but he knew how to push me at each point until I crossed the line in 23hrs 39mins. Expect to be shouted at Expect colourful language Expect to be broken and built back up again all in 24hrs. The only company ii would ever use or recommend.

Don’t expect to be meandering up the mountains, taking in the views or chatting along the way while you stroll along tourist routes ….that will never get you through in 24hrs
Chris and his team will push you hard ... It will be fast paced and it will test you both mentally and physically. It will make you realise you’re more capable than you thought and you have more chance of making It within the 24hrs with this team than with any other !
So put on your big girl/big boy pants and get booked - you will never feel prouder of yourself than when you’ve finished it !

I’m very disappointed with how my situation was handled by Active Mountaineering. Due to a sudden and personal family loss, I had to cancel my place on a challenge. I reached out hoping for some understanding or flexibility, but was told there would be no refund or even a partial credit.

I completely understand that these events require planning and come with policies, but I had hoped for a little more compassion under the circumstances. I was really looking forward to the challenge and had heard great things about the team, which makes this experience even more disheartening.

I’m sharing this not out of frustration, but in the hope that in the future, there might be a more human response when someone faces something truly unavoidable.

We did the national three peaks challenge with Chris. Be warned, you will be pushed to your max but Chris will make you realise you are capable of more than you think you are… by putting you through hell haha. Make sure you do your training and don’t underestimate the challenge. I’d highly recommend Active Mountaineering to anyone who wants to be pushed to their limits and complete this challenge in 24 hours

Incredible weekend with Chris and our group. We came across some challenges while we were doing the 3 peaks but always had trust in Chris and his team to get us over the line in less than 24hrs.

Absolutely brilliant experience, Chris was a fantastic guide and there was no faffing around, he explained everything in great detail, his team of drivers and guides were all great too. Chris will really push and motivate you with his no nonsense style but he’s also really good fun. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to do the national 3 peaks challenge and he will make sure you can achieve this. I’ll definitely be booking a future challenge with Active Mountaineering

Everything was super well organised, and the guides were brilliant—supportive, knowledgeable, and kept us going when it got tough.
Chris, the owner, might seem a bit intense at first, but his leadership was key. His no-nonsense, no "faffing around", motivated style really pushed us to work as a team, stay focused, and have a great time doing it.
Tough challenge, amazing support, unforgettable memories. Highly recommend for any group looking to push themselves and have a blast doing it!

This was my second attempt at the three peak challenge 24hr and this time Chris was my guide.

His knowledge and expertise seen myself and the remaining group complete the challenge. Do not delay and book with Chris. My time was 23hr and 3mins.

I first used Active Mountaineering in 2023 for the 3 peaks challenge, which was absolutely fantastic and would highly recommend, putting our completion under the 24 hours mark down to the skills, organisation and knowledge, Chris and his team where able to give.

After the success of the 3 peaks challenge, we decided to use Active Mountaineering again to undertake Kilimanjaro in February 2025. This again was an amazing and successful trip.

Chris was able to offer his guidance, skills and knowledge to again ensure everyone summited the mountain and complete the challenge, but also making it a highly enjoyable experience along the way and one to remember!

Over the months prior to our departure, Chris gave us all the vital information we would need as well as tips and what to expect on the mountain.

The trip itself was very well organised and faultless, from transport to hotels to activities and most importantly the team and camps on the mountain. Chris was able to get all the minor details right which others likely wouldn’t think off and this made a big difference to myself and the teams experience. The knowledge and advice which was given throughout the challenge ensured all 7 of the team made it to the summit in difficult conditions.

We are now thinking about our 3rd challenge with Chris and Active Mountaineering, which I think says a lot about him and the company.

We have just completed our second trip with Chris at active mountaineering. The first one was the national 3 peaks in under 24 hours in 2023 and the second was mount Kilimanjaro in 2025.

Both trips were faultless and both were successful! This was predominantly down to Chris’s expertise and knowledge in the mountains.

Chris ensures morale is kept high when the going gets tough. He liked to laugh and jokes and wants to make sure everyone is feeling good throughout the trip.

He provide excellent guidance and clear instructions, from a detailed itinerary, kit list, to various other key information you will need it is clear that Chris has an abundance of knowledge within the mount

We have enjoyed Chris’s company over the trips we have undertaken, so much so that we have spoken about the possibility of a third challenge with him, so this speaks volumes of him and his trips/challenges.

Chris (Active Mountaineering) promised a trip of a lifetime to Kilimanjaro. Did he deliver? Yes, he absolutely did!! This was a WOW trip, where your feet don't touch the ground, whether it's the 6 day Kili climb itself, the safari, the day-trips and/or the immersion into the bright colours and bustle of Tanzanian life. With Chris, we achieved the summit of Africa's highest mountain and had a stunning safari afterwards; all resulting in a lifetime of great memories.

Chris likes a laugh and a joke, but make no mistake, he is dedicated to ensuring everyone on his adventures achieves their maximum potential and has the best possible time every minute of every day. 100% of our group achieved the summit of Kilimanjaro (Uhuru Peak), due in large part to Chris and his team being there to support and guide the group from day one to six. Chris carefully monitors each person in the group, ensuring they are eating and drinking fuelling to the maximum; he fills in a chart for each person three times a day recording their food and drink intake, their oxygen/bloodstream level and appearance (in case of altitude sickness). It is this attention to detail that ensured our group reached the summit and where other climbers potentially fail (only around 60% of attempts reach the summit).

After the Kili climb, Chris led a two-day safari, which finished in the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most spectacular environments in the world; wildlife was abundant and we were able to view elephants, lions, hippos, zebras, wildebeest, etc, etc.
All in all, it was a fantastic trip, we came home buzzing, with a load of photos to sort & edit.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chris & Active Mountaineering - hardworking, trustworthy and reliable; if you're thinking of climbing Kili, this is the person you need.

Returned from bucket list adventure to Kilimanjaro-fantastic memorable experience, Chris lead our team from day 1 right up until the final step of our journey to the airport.
As a family of 3 - 1 only being 16 Chris proved attentive, caring, fun, enthusiastic & knowledgeable of all mountain aspects.
His attention to detail was a constant presence through our days on the mountain. We thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful adventure & would recommend this company & Chris to anyone considering taking on any challenge that they offer.
