Terrible customer service from Ha
Terrible customer service from hamish, one of the owners. I quite “why would I waste 30 minutes out of my day to let you try on it a kilt for your wedding unless you guarantee that you will hire it”. All this when I simply wanted to see what it would look like on. All other kilt shops in Edinburgh had no issue with me doing this.

Very good experience as a wedding planner
I cannot thank 8 yards enough for their help for my client's wedding
I am a wedding planner and even tho 8 yards sent the kilt hire through 24 hours Parcelforce, the delivery was going to be on the actual wedding date, and Parcelforce wasn't able to give us any information about the time, meaning that we didn't know if the groom was going to even have an outfit.
Even tho it wasn't 8 yards' fault, they've done all they could do to help us and delivered to my home a kilt from Dalkeith, sending their own courrier just for this one item.
I've worked with them multiple times over the years and they've always helped a lot, but this time I really wanted to express my gratitude in this stressful moment to help resolve it!

Came over from New Zealand for a wedding and the staff at 8yards made the hire process super easy! The flexibility to also return the hire to a closer shop than where I picked it up from was also super convenient! Would use 8yards again 100%

Last minute kilt sock problem solved
My son had hired me a kilt outfit for his wedding from another large kilt hire company. However the kilt socks supplied with the hire were poor quality and way too small for my extra large calves. I panicked and searched the internet. Then I found and phoned 8 Yards Kilts 2 minutes after they opened and a very helpful assistant called Hollie checked stock for me and even measured the socks and let me know that they had a pair in stock in the correct colour and would put them aside for me. 15 minutes later I had the socks purchased and was on my way home. VERY RELIEVED. A great place and thank you especially to Hollie who literally saved the day. Old fashioned great service.

We had a great experience with Eight Yards for our wedding. From start to finish, their team was friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. They made the entire process easy.
The kilts looked absolutely amazing, and the quality was outstanding. We received so many compliments from our guests—people were genuinely impressed by how sharp and well put-together everything looked. It really added something special to the atmosphere of the day and our guests loved them, especially as most of the guests were from the U.S.
Eight Yards helped us feel confident, comfortable, and proud to wear traditional Highlandwear, and we couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out. If you're looking for top-notch kilts and a team that truly knows their craft, we’d definitely recommend Eight Yards!
