Kebone needs a bonus
I just got off the phone to a wonderful person called Kebone, working from South Africa, taking our New Zealand calls, with the worst system fail i have ever come across, I was told not to hang up if the call cuts out, kebone was so kind, I don't know how, im sure kebone is not getting paid enough for the terrible phone line and upset customers calling trying to get help, the new system 2degrees is a 100% fail and mistake. Put the old system back immediately, I am in credit and the only option I got was a robot telling me to pay $5, the poor staff, not cool at all. They deserve better and also us as customers really need to hear the person on the other end of the phone.

Attempted to cancel my plan on 3 occassions already and have still been messed around. They go out of there way to try and keep you in there plans, Email and they will say "You have to call to cancel". Call and they will say "Your service will be cancelled". 2 weeks later you're still being charged. Call again to be told "Sorry there was an error, your service will be canclled". 1 week later and its still up being charged again.
The dirtiest delay tactics I've ever seen to the point its illegal and have to go out of my way to put in a dispute. Paying nearly $100 a month for subpar service too, expected more than 15mbps in Wellington central

Easy as. Recently joined for the business. Called on a Sunday night 6pm. Problem sorted within minutes. Phone calls answered within 10-15 seconds. Brilliant.

The worst company I've ever dealt with in my life. I went in to buy a phone from them, good price. They then managed to talk me into other stuff which they told me I'd get cheaper than what I was paying. LOL that didn't happen, I'm paying more. My fault for going along with it. And to make matters worse I can't get out of it
I was a loyal customer with 2degrees…
I was a loyal customer with 2degrees for over a decade until last month. They shorted me on my 5GB of monthly data and dealing with it was a massive hassle. It didn't even get sorted and I recieved no apology or admittance of fault.
I used 2GB on the 1st March and another 3GB *after* the billing cycle renewed, but after the 3GB it said I only had 100MB left so I reached out to see why I was low.
Customer service was adamant that I had used 5GB even though their own systems showed that I hadn't. They kept insisting I had used 5GB that month, which I had, and didn't accept that that wasn't the problem. Which was that I hadn't used 5GB since my data should have been topped up.
Email communication was miserable with a new staff member each reply and never read the previous conversation. Over the phone was somehow even worse! Waiting on hold for 15 minutes just to try talk to outsourced, internationally-based staff who didn't listen.
I tried in store and the lady was lovely, understood the problem, opened a ticket for me... only for me to recieve a text later that day saying I had used 5GB of data that month.
I gave up and switched mobile providers, and after looking at the prices of others, I should have done it a lot sooner.
I do NOT recommend 2Degrees to anyone who values their time or money.
2 Degrees Fighting 4 Fair? Yeah Right!
The 2 Degrees motto says "Fighting For Fair". It should say "Fighting For Fair? Yeah Right!"
2 Degrees lack of communication is legendary. They have no automated systems/emails to help customers not over pay. For 5 years I asked them to email me in advance of my 1 year fixed price agreement so I could fix it for another year. Every year they charge extra after the 1 year ended and never made contact.
Now I have left them they constantly email me telling me to pay the last bill along with all kinds of threats if I don't. I am not meant to pay the full bill. I am meant to part pay it and not until the next payment cycle comes round.
Their excuse? It is an automated email.
Funny how they can send automated emails to harass customers but not to help them.
Don't recommend 2degrees.

Broadband outage for over 24…
Broadband has been put for over 24 hours. Emails not responded to and nearly 2 hours on hold for technical support amd no contact. Terrible customer service, no idea when resolution will happen.

Another awful greedy cell service
Good cell phone coverage and that is about the only good thing. Very greedy ways to take more of your money. If you only want 1GB extra data, you have to ask for it and then ask them to turn it off because it auto-renews. Who ever wants to auto renew an extra data package when you can literally change your mobile plan and every month. Wasn't able to call for about a month and couldn't call their customer service then either, forces you to visit store. One store tells me to get a new sim card, the other one tells me to turn on 4G calling. Don't apply here for cell service.

Shady sales practices
I’ve been told that some more context might be helpful for anyone considering this company.
I am a full time high school teacher. My phone is getting old and can’t maintain battery life. My partner had to have urgent surgery, and I needed to take short notice time off from my classes to care for her. While she was having an extended stay in hospital, the age of her phone was also starting to affect her ability to stay connected with work and loved ones. I was rushing between home and hospital while trying to get work done simultaneously. I ended up relying on a portable battery.
We decided to upgrade our phones to reduce the stress we were both experiencing. We signed up for a group deal at 2degrees. My partners phone arrived the next day. Great job! My phone didn’t, and I didn’t receive any emails confirming my purchase, though the deposit had left my bank account. After five days of calling, I emailed their customer service dept and was told that my model was out of stock and would take a month to arrive. This defeats the purpose of upgrading my phone, yet I’d already signed the contract. To reiterate, I wasn’t informed about my purchase being out of stock at time of purchase, nor during the subsequent 5 days of chasing it up. Basically they sell items they don’t have and expect the customer to suck it up.
When I have time I will be pasting in the emails I received from 2degrees once the communication shifted from the (futile and obfuscating) customer service line.
11.03.2026 update:
After a week of calls and emails, I was invited to “pop into a shop” and pay extra for an upgrade to a phone they actually have in stock.

After a week of emails and calls after being sold a product that they didn’t actually have, I get an $80 credit and a four week wait.
Their strategy seems to wear you down completely with meaningless platitudes - apologies that are not backed up with action.
The worst customer service I have ever experienced. 2degrees has complete contempt for the people of Aotearoa.
If it helps anyone at all, articles 19 and 21 of the fair trade act are what 2degrees were breaching in my case.

I am sorry this has been frustrating for you, especially since your partner’s phone has already arrived and you have not been given any clear updates about yours. I have had a proper look into your order today so you have a definitive answer.
Your iPhone 17 Pro Max 512GB in Cosmic Orange, Order ID 8414537 from 4 March, has not yet been issued for delivery because it was not in stock at the time you signed up. The next shipment is on the way and the expected arrival time for this device is within four weeks. As soon as stock lands we will allocate your phone for dispatch straight away, then you will receive your tracking details by email.
Just a little tip while you are waiting, once you get the tracking link you can sign up for courier notifications so you will get updates without needing to check in manually. It makes the final part of the wait a bit smoother.

Our business phone stop working on a Thursday - I made a number of calls to their business service phone number - what a joke. It is now Monday 4pm and guess what? Still not working. 2 Degree has been my provider for many years - maybe 8.
