We've had a great experience with 24PetWatch! Our dog came from a rescue with their Lifetime Protection Membership (reunion assistance if he's lost) and a complimentary year of pet insurance, which we decided to keep. We're so glad we did. He's the sweetest pup but has had more vet visits than we'd ever expected. He's only 4, but has had frequent ear infections and several minor injuries (he plays a bit too hard sometimes). Most recently, he was hospitalized for pancreatitis, and having pet insurance was a huge relief. We were reimbursed within days. It made a stressful situation so much easier, not having to worry about the vet cost. Highly recommend!

I registered one of my cats with 24PetWatch in May, 2024 and paid $100.00. My cat NEVER made it into their system - there is no record of her when I logon to my account.

I have tried many times to contact them, but I never receive a response to phone calls or emails. Based on what I read here I'm not the only person they are ignoring. At this point if I lost this cat I don't think the chip would help at all. These chips are good on paper, but in practice I think they are just a way to relieve people of their hard earned cash.

Where do I even start? I have tried so many times to contact them about various issues - replying to emails, website contact forms, Facebook (posting and messaging), and have NEVER EVER EVER gotten a response! I clicked on links in emails, links on their website, even tried to see if I could report a pet as lost or found (which gave me an ERROR page!), and nothing. Completely USELESS. Avoid at all costs!!!

Exactly what all the other 1 and 2 star reviews say. Adopted dog from Humane Society and then tried to transfer ownership information, got "technical" problem online so had to call and got this awful high pressure sales pitch including scare tactics (pay or your dog will never be found!) and "offer only available right now" bs. All friendly at first then almost hostile when I refused to pay the high priced fees for 6 months protection or lifetime membership of $265 (but, but, but there's a free blanket 🙄). Totally scammy and should be banned by rescue groups and investigated by BBB.

We had our dog spayed and chipped yesterday. The vet clinic made a mistake and put the wrong address on the chip. They told us all we had to do was email and they'd fix it. I emailed them and they are saying I need "proof of ownership" or a letter from my "old address" since we "moved" we didn't move!!! This was never our address! It was a simple mistake. We just got this puppy and we got her from a breeder so all we have is the papers saying she's a golden our names aren't on it or our address, and the shots for the puppy were all done at free shot clinics so I don't have anything of that sort either. It shouldn't be this hard! They should be able to see this microchip was just brand new yesterday and easily able to be fixed. Now if my dog goes missing she is going to be returned somewhere else. Not happy at all.

Be careful and READ reviews! Our adult adopted cat was microchipped by her shelter. The company that chipped her was acquired by 24PetWatch, who are scammers. To register her online (associating her microchip number with my name and contact info) the agent on the phone said we had to pay, contrary to what we were told by the shelter. The man I first spoke to was extremely tense and put a lot of pressure on me to pay for a special plan. After doing more research and speaking to THREE other agents, one told the truth: your pet is covered and you can register her for free. FOR FREE! Do not allow them to con you. The other things are all add-ons.

When someone stole one of my dogs and registered it with 24petwatch, I gave them information where the microchip chip originated and that it was sold to HuntersCreekRetrievers .com. They refused to assist me in recovering my $20,000 Trained Service Dog. This is a company that needs to seriously readdress their policies and procedures.

This company is super deceptive. They offer free tracking services with their pet microchips. But when you go on their website to register the chip they only offer plans that start at $50. I called their customer service and was told I had to put a paid plan in the cart and then I could remove it after I finish the process. Not the case. It took me over an hour messing around online before I gave up. Then it took three phone calls with more sales pitches before I could get all my dog's relevant information correct. And my phone number correct. I have an account that allows you to edit the information but key information is greyed out so you have to call and get another sales pitch to get it corrected. They don't exist to help animals. The microchips they supply only exist as a marketing ploy to try to get you to pay hundreds for other products they sell. This microchip was implanted by a city animal shelter, but in other circumstances I would never do business with this company. If you have a choice, don't pick them.

We have been with this company for over 10 years and recently cancelled our pet insurance.
For years they had been increasing our premiums. For the recent year, they increased it over 50%. When contacted, they had no reasonable nor acceptable explanations for the insane price increase.
Upon calling around other companies, they quoted less than 1/2 the price of 24PetWatch.
Very disappointed with the rapid & high premium increases given our long tenure with the company.

In my opinion you are better off staying away from this company, since they know how to get your money and how to avoid paying your claims. Any claims on Pre-exisiting conditions are never paid. Even if you take the additional "wellness"cover, there are so many instances where this too, they refuse to pay. Also there is the deductible, which means that most times your claim will not be paid. Most people wont have to take their pets to the vet more than once a year, So guess what, they get your premium but your claim is not paid because of the deductible.
So what I have done is to open a savings account and set up a monthly transfer to it, which you can use if and when you need Veterinary services

Submitting a claim was easy and they responded quickly

My neighbor took in a stray cat. He had a 24petwatch microchip. The company tried to contact the original owner, and there was no response. They said my neighbor could transfer ownership after 5 days. Unfortunately, she put off doing that, and a few months later the cat ended up being taken by a deceitful "friend" of hers, then dropped off somewhere out in the country. We reported this to the police and 24petwatch. We tried to transfer my neighbor's name as the owner and me as a secondary contact. 24petwatch refused. They said the original owner (the one who doesn't want him and ignores repeated phone calls), will remain the contact for the chip because the cat is lost. It makes no sense, and it means there is little chance for recovering the cat. It would be better if he had no microchip at all. 24petwatch is worthless!!

One of my cats passed last year and they gave me such a hard time.
My current policy for my cat states 62.21, but I realized that the they've been taking over $65 from my bank each month. I just got off the phone and was told that I lost my discount because I only have one cat but they forgot to let me know. My new policy is up over 50 percent to $98!!!! I just cancelled my policy. It's absolutely disgusting

Prompt review and payment for dog's surgical claim. Funds received within the same week as the claim was submitted.

Bought their expensive "lifetime guaranteed" collars for my dogs. Soon after them wearing the collars the ID information began to chip off. Contacted them to request a replacement and was told it'll take 4 to 6 weeks, 6 weeks came and went no collar. Contacted again, "oh so sorry we'll order again". This has been going for a year with the same canned sorry message every 6 weeks. I am fearful that should my dog get lost I'll get the same lousy service. If you get a choice DON'T USE THESE CLOWNS.

They reported to me immediately after he was scanned when found and returned within an hour after missing.
Customer service was very helpful and considerate to the situation.

OUR EXPERIENCE WAS FINDING A WONDERFUL DOG AND TRYING TO TRACK THE OWNER AFTER TAKING HER TO THE VET TO IDENTIFY IF SHE WAS CHIPPED.

THIS SERVICE WAS USELESS TO SAY THE LEAST. NO PHONE SUPPORT AT 6:30 PM TO 8:00 PM CST WAS AVAILABLE. CONTINUOUS ATTEMPTS WERE MADE BY SEVERAL PEOPLE, INCLUDING THE ANIMAL CLINIC, DURING THIS DURATION. THE WEBSITE IS EQUALLY USELESS TO SUBMIT A FOUND ANIMAL REPORT. THIS ATTEMPT WAS MADE THROUGHOUT THE SAME DURATION OF TIME WITH AN IPHONE 14 PRO MAX, UTILIZING SAFARI AND GOOGLE CHROME. THEIR SUBPAR WEB TO PHONE CONVERSION APPEARS TO NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO ACTUALLY SUBMIT, IT SIMPLY LOOPS CONTINUOUSLY AFTER YOU CONFIRM YOUR NOT A ROBOT. 🙄 BTW, AS AN EXAMPLE OF THE STUPIDITY OF THEIR WEBSITE… WHY WOULD IT BE DESIGNED TO ASK FOR THE DOG’S NAME IF A PERSON SIMPLY FOUND THE DOG? HOW THE F*** WOULD WE KNOW THE DOG’S NAME IF THE CHIP DOESN’T PROVIDE THAT INFORMATION TO THE VET?

THIS SERVICE APPEARS TO BE A SCAM!

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO MY WORSE ENEMY REGARDING A PET!

A DOG COLLAR WITH A BELL WOULD BE FAR MORE BENEFICIAL THAN THIS SERVICE.

I just hung up from a 17 minute phone call that was mostly high pressure to sign me up for their $199 program fee. I went to log into my account, said my email was not registered. I went to register my account and it said my email was already registered and if I was having issues logging in to call their number provided. The agent at first was very kind, apologized for the tech error and was helpful. She even updated my contact information, she then went on to explain the plans and told me I would be required to select one in order for her microchip to be active? I asked she has had this microchip for 4 years? Are you telling me if I do not pay you $199 right now you will deactivate her microchip? She explained it needed to be processed over the phone. When I told her I will talk with our vet first to see what plan they think is best she stated "they are going to tell you them same thing". I told her I would not be purchasing anything today I need to speak with my vet and my husband and she said "okay well when can I call you back to finish your transaction?" And continued to pressure me to set up a call back with her. Obviously they pay their employees on commission. Throughout the call she called me the wrong name, my pet the wrong name and gender. I plan on getting a new microchip company after this experience and do not recommed them to anyone. We did not select them initially as our dog is a rescue and the rescue selected this microchip for her prior to us adopting her. I will also be reaching out to the rescue she is from to let them know our experience. They are a multi-state rescue with 4 different locations and it is a shame to think how many people have been deceived by 24Petwatch. I believe the "tech error" is just to get people to call in and try to pressure them into a service and deceive them to think their microchip will not work unless you pay them a $199 fee. BUYER BEWARE!

I called to register my newly adopted cat’s microchip to me, a free service I was told to do upon adoption, because their webpage just kept loading and the customer service agent turned out to be a sales representative! She made it sound like in order to complete the registration change it would be mandatory to purchase a “protection plan” starting at $50/yr, $100 lifetime, or $200 “Lifetime Plus” I asked to think about it and they provided their phone extension along with a comment that they can provide $10 off if I make the sale through them. They barely even explained what support these plans provide for a lost pet so you have less time to think on it and they can make a quick uninformed sale. I didn’t ask to be sold one or even inquired about one. All I asked was for my cats microchip to be registered to my name. If you move or change phone numbers in the future you must pay a fee or purchase a protection plan to do so. Total scam as other companies offer the same protection plans for free or a smaller $20 lifetime fee. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

This compnay is a total waste of time and oney. They DO NOT really check or find your "Dog" or "puppy" is a simple deive that does all the job. Compnay not good.
