How the mighty have fallen! The day the original owners turned their business over to a large corporation, they had to know their product would never be the same. We went to a local restaurant that has had these muffins on their menu for years. What we were served was ABSOLUTELY NOT the Wolferman’s I’d enjoyed for years. The 2 inch muffin that was their trademark has shrunk in size, consistent with the trend of paying more in restaurants and getting less. Their famous muffins look like the much cheaper ones you can get in the dairy section of a grocery store. They told the restaurant that instead of using shortening they were now using butter!! So smaller is better because it’s made with an ingredient that NOBODY will detect!

Dry and hard immediately after receipt in mail
They are so dry and hard even after putting them in the deep freeze immediately upon arrival in the mail. I’m going to try to contact them to receive replacements cause even the first one I ate was awful. I don’t have the heart to tell my sister I donot like them AT ALL. My sister sent them as a Christmas gift. I want to throw them out and I don’t want to say I love them cause I don’t want her to keep sending them.
Do NOT send as a sympathy gift! Disappointing
I ordered a sympathy gift basket for a friend who lost their Mother and it won't arrive for a month. When I reached out to customer service and finally chatted with a human they said even though it won't be delivered for another week they can not cancel it until it has shipped? Does that make any sense. And this happened to me before but worse, I sent a very large gift basket to my Aunt while she was grieving my uncle at that took 3 months to arrive. Just horrible customer service. I won't be returning.

Flavor, taste, texture, dryer muffin, customer service not very good. Favorite flavors out of stock or discontinued, available for order later date-they couldn’t tell me. Not a special treat or gift anymore. Not Fred Wolferman’s recipe! Will not order again.
Bad service, low quality products
I experienced terrible customer service from Wolferman's and 1-800- FLOWERS, it's parent company, as it seems most people do, based on the reviews here.
I was also charged shipping despite having had a Celebrations Passport membership for the past 3 years, and literally spent over 2 hours trying to deal with the non-native English speaking customer service agents that couldn't seem to understand this basic issue, nor have any idea how to resolve the matter.
Finally one of the 3 agents I was transferred to mentioned that I would have to speak to a Celebrations Passport agent and I said,"why Yes, of course I should!" That should have been offered from the get go, as once I spoke with that department, the shipping problem was corrected in about one minute!
I surprisingly didn't have any untimely delivery problems, but as they were having a BOGO @ 50% off deal on certain baskets, I finally got to try the products I had ordered for years for family members and was disappointed in the sizes of their items. The loaf bread was literally an individual portion, not a full loaf bread as seemed to be portrayed in the catalog, and the scones and danish were also small. As mentioned by others, the "super thick" English muffins were a 4-pack, and the whole presentation just looked thrown together rather than nicely shrink-wrapped as I would have expected for something priced at approx. $125.00.
I was frankly embarrassed that this low quality jumble was what my family had been receiving from me in the past, and have resolved that I will find a better company from which to order holiday gifts in the future.
Poor customer service
I ordered something for my brother and sister in law and it was to be delivered 12/24/25. Never delivered. Spoke to 2 people, was told I would be refunded and the product would still be delivered. Nothing ever delivered. I will never order from this company again.

I ordered from them in November for delivery by Dec 16th. They never delivered, never contacted me to inform me that they were unable to deliver due to a shortage of product.
However charged me 29.00 for passport membership delivery and 22.00 for a coffee cake.
When I spoke to my nephew he informed me he hadn't received the item sent for Christmas. After hours on hold for customer service they said they would send another and it would arrive on Jan 2. It never happened. Mr. McCann your company sucks!
Original order AND replacement never delivered
I placed an order for a homebound elderly relative. It was to be delivered before Christmas. I ordered it 12/17. It was delivered to the front door of her apartment complex, not even to the office or the mailroom. Of course, she never received it. I talked to customer service who guaranteed a replacement would be delivered, to her door with a signature, by 12/31/25. It was sent, again, to the front door. After a lot of time with customer service, I got a refund, but that does not make my relative happy. I had to tell her that her Christmas present had been stolen and that she would receive it before New Year’s Day, and she was really looking forward to a treat. Now she’s not getting it at all. This was a terribly disappointing experience and I do not recommend Wolferman’s or their partners at all.
Wanted to order a $69.95 item
Wanted to order a $69.95 item. Total price was $106.05. Called 800 number and was told that after I paid the bill I would receive an email of a breakdown of charges. Agent said she could not give the requested breakdown. Don't try for a discount. All of their advertised codes come back as expired. Finished with Wolferman's. Recommend you stay away from all Harry and David's products. Too much bait an switch.
Orders delivered late
I placed 7 orders for Christmas on 12/10/25. One was delivered 3 days later. The remaining 6 were in limbo. I called Wolfermans twice with no satisfaction. I tried an online chat that was worthless. I reordered the 6 items on 12/20/25 and was told delivery by 12/24/25. The packages are now out for delivery on 12/26/25. My family was expecting these items for christmas morning. I have been a customer for more than 20 years and a Passport member. Since this was taken over by Harry & David there has been horrible service. I had 2 previous orders this year screwed up, It is very Embarrassing. I will not continue ordering from this company.

ZERO stars! I will never purchase again. The last few years this place has gone downhill. The customer service is horrible. Nothing comes when they say it will, everything is late or doesn’t come at all. There is zero communication of issues. I actually called and spoke to agents multiple times who assured me my gift would arrive on time and that they had shipped then called again and spoke to another agent who said they hadn’t shipped. Please don’t waste your time or money!

A Masterclass in How Not to Handle a Paid Order.
Image the poorest customer service you ever experienced - times by 10 and that's what you get with Wolferman's Bakery .- Last year, an order placed for Christmas was canceled without notification. At the time, I accepted partial responsibility, believing it had been placed too late.
This year, I placed my order on December 1 to ensure there would be no repeat of that experience. The order was fully paid, confirmed, and scheduled for delivery on December 23.
Weeks later, I discovered—without any notification from the company—that the order had been placed “on hold” due to one unavailable item. I spent over 30 minutes on the phone canceling that item so the order could proceed and was explicitly assured everything was back on track.
It was not.
As of December 22, the order had still not shipped. Without any communication, the delivery date was quietly pushed to December 31—after Christmas and not what was promised at the time of purchase.
At no point did Wolferman’s / Harry & David notify me of this delay, despite charging my credit card in full and continuing to accept new online orders for Christmas delivery.
This is not just a shipping issue. It is a failure of communication, accountability, and basic customer trust.
Food and gift orders are often placed for meaningful occasions when timing matters. In this case, the lack of transparency and follow-through turned what should have been a thoughtful gift into a deeply disappointing experience.

Ordered two gift baskets on Nov. 29. Promised delivery Dec.3-5. Got an email saying one basket was delivered Dec. 3. It was not. Got email a few days later saying it was delayed. Keep in mind, these are PERISHABLES! One basket sat in some warehouse two hours from the recipient for 4 days. Finally delivered Dec. 10.

Shipping was expensive and extremely delayed. Order sat in a fedex facility for a week yet when I contacted the company no help was given and no attempt to make it right. I will never order Christmas gifts from this company again as customer service was slow and unhelpful after reporting the problem.

Horrible! I have been a long time customer who just loved gifting Wolfermans as well as buying for our family. The first year we purchased these muffins we were blown away at the size big huge thick English muffins and delicious! We received our muffins this year, oh h—- no. Not only has shrinknation taken place you used to get 6 muffins in a package then 5 and now 4 very average English muffins. Sadly these English muffins are no better than you can buy at your local grocery store. We will never order again. What a disappointment. After reading reviews we are not the only ones. I will never understand why when you have a superior product you cut corners and then totally destroy all that you have built up. These aren’t cheap to start with so instead of trying to squeeze every penny why not just continue to make a quality product. Will find another place that hopefully will take up where you left off. Don’t waste your money this is not the Wolfermans of years past.
Such Bad Service - NO Service - After 25 + years of a Customer, I am gone !
I have been a customer, ordering hundreds of gifts each year at Christmas for 25 + years.
This year, for over 3 weeks I have been trying to place a large order ... and 1) I cannot get through by telephone as there are obviously not enough employees to handle the requests; 2) the email address I have for the person who always handled my account - bounced back stating this employee is on extended leave / but the email it asked me to send my order to, has not responded to a dozen emails.
Paid exorbanant shipping fee for specific delivery date
I paid extra to have my order delivered SPECIFICALLY on December 23rd. They charged me $132.30 JUST for SHIPPING!
This huge breakfast was supposed to be for my family that I can't be with, to enjoy a wonderful Christmas morning breakfast.
I just found out it was delivered today.... 7 days early! They will not be able to save everything I sent for a WEEK!! I am beyond disappointed!
I will never order from this company again!!
