The device works great when it works - for a home it is awesome. Unfortunately, I travel..alot! I have spent the entire pandemic in Singapore and Malaysia. The Winston worked when the setup was good in the Air B and B but I was not able to use it in Hotels or in certain places where the setup was not like Winston needs it. It is faster than a VPN and I would really recommend it. I wish that there was a travel version, perhaps without all the features due to the limitations that traveling presents but other than that, this thing works fantastic. Also, the team keeps impressively improving the setup and keeps us updated so it is a great experience so far. Highly recommended but be aware of the limitations

Easy to Plug and Play, great product that delivers what it promises.

Very impressed. I have a cable modem, and had some concerns about compatibility, but I followed the very simple instructions and the install was quick and smooth. I don't use Facebook, and was stunned when Winston told me I was still being tracked. Satisfied customer!

I love this device. I never knew there was so much "behind the scenes" tracking and it is quite disgusting. The setup was easy and I had no issues. The dashboard is simple to maneuver and to understand. Support has also been helpful and questions are answered immediately.

Winston has been great - set up was so easy. I'm not seeing all the dumb ads that used to follow me on any of my devices. Also, the ability to read articles, etc with out seeing ads is refreshing. All of my devices seem to be working faster. Its nice that my kids are also protected - a "must have" product for moms.

Had some unusual issue on setup. I opened a ticket and was connected with an exceptional support contact at Winston. The level of service and attention to detail, and patience in working out the issue to completion made this one of the most impressive support calls I’ve ever had. In addition I got a personal walk through and explanation of the product dashboard function and features. I have started testing out what to block and filter or whitelist.

I am very happy with the level of support and so far with the product. The features are really impressive. I look forward to seeing how they grow and evolve along the way.

Winston is a new firm with a VERY innovative product... but they need to work on 1) communicating why they are valuable and 2) try more innovative pricing strategies. I actively searched for "hardware VPN" solutions because I understand the importance of data privacy and security, but I specifically do not want to add another ongoing bill to my plate (especially during this new normal where job security is questionable at best). After a ton of confusion around the difference between their hardware and software (and a 1.5 hour support call with Joe), I understand their hardware is not valuable without their "subscription". I purchased a lifetime subscription (an option that is not available anymore) after getting over my own emotional blocker related to feeling like it was a bait-n-switch (NOTE: It should not be considered a lifetime subscription, but instead the purchase price for the product).

This product is valuable and it does work as promised... but it takes a lot of individual time to understand because they have to overcome ALOT of misinformation and poor industry practices from the predecessors and competitors that create anchor points for consumers.

Example 1: They use a browser plugin... but I actively avoid those because they are usually extremely fat with bad code and tracking bugs. That is not the case with Winston.
Example 2: There are plenty of vaporware and (perhaps legit) real software data protection services that end up using every opportunity possible to up-sell you on the next level of service... which ends up replacing random cookie ads with their own ads, thus providing no real utility. Winston hasn't done that to me yet, so I hope they heed the warning in this review and avoid that practice.

I'm very excited for this firm to get their educational marketing materials in better order and to use a pricing model that allows for a 1-time purchase but then also allows for subscription add-ons. (Obviously, subscription models are a software-tech industry goal because that creates a continual flow of income... but since everyone is doing that, that's creating more and more annual/monthly bills, which is limiting the actionable market size)

I entered into Winston a bit guarded. After I received the product, I was truly impressed with the experience. I have ATT GB fiber at home, and I was worried I would have speed drops. I can honestly report my internet experience is much more responsive. I couldn't be happier.
I added a couple filters and one actually fixed a weird issue I was having with my Apple TV Netflix account where it would drop connection. I am pleased with the amount of options you can choose from to protect yourself. It is an easy product to use.

Winston Privacy is a great device/system if you are concerned about privacy and tracking issues which are now almost everywhere when you connect to the Internet. It blocks ads, trackers and hides your real IP address.

This can cause some websites not to work properly, but then you have the option to temporarily turn off protection.

Highly recommended if you care about your privacy and don’t want to be tracked online.

Received mine, and it works really well. Connection speed also improved. The presentation on this device is beautiful, it’s subtle and conservative but the material gives it a bold look, kudos to the designer.

The setup went well however, if you have a modem/router - you would require a separate router for the setup to complete. Good thing I had a back up router so I could complete the setup.

I appreciate how it gave me a level of control on sites tracking me and even domains, as well as adding additional filtering capabilities. It does what it advertises so kudos and credits to the engineers and cyber security teams that designed this. This adds a layer to my network security.

Product worked perfectly, we're very satisfied and would recommend to others.

Lately, I've been seeing ads all over the place for VPNs, and since I currently work remotely now, buying one has on my radar more than ever. I've used VPNs in the past, some free and some paid subscriptions... but they were always too slow. I've adjusted my expectations over the years, but then decided to give Winston a shot because of the added layer of visibility into data trackers.

Sure, there's some setup involved to keep some of your habits/scenarios friction-free. But I think this is probably the most cutting edge thing on the market right now. I'm no expert... but I'm not kidding when I say your mind will probably be blown when you see what this system catches.

It's like having a digital n95 respirator on at all times. It gets it all.

It was super easy to set up, and it's amazing to see how many reported privacy violations it's stopping. This whole tracking thing has gotten crazy, and I finally got tired of it. Highly recommended.
