Easy to follow instructions
Easy to follow instructions. The hard part is the decision making, creating a list of assets, and asking the person you would like to be your executor that all important question. I would create that list of assets first, not only for your will but also for insurance purposes. I would also have that conversation with the person you choose to be executor of your estate before starting.

Looks easy, but you still have to go to a notary — defeats the purpose
I bought a will from Willful expecting a straightforward, fully online process. The website makes it seem like you can handle everything from home, but after paying, I found out there’s a section that must be notarized (or signed with witnesses).
That means you still have to go in person to a notary or arrange proper witnesses for it to be legally valid — the same step you’d take if you’d just gone to a lawyer or notary from the start. For me, that defeats the entire selling point of “doing a will online.”
The document itself is fine, but in the end, Willful is really just a will drafting service, not a complete start-to-finish solution. You’re paying for a template and the convenience of filling it in online, but you still need to finish the process offline.
If you’re considering Willful, understand that:
It’s not a fully digital will.
You’ll still need an in-person step for it to be valid.
The “online” part doesn’t eliminate the hassle, just the drafting.
If you’re okay with that, it might work for you. If you were hoping to be fully done without leaving home, look for a service that offers remote witnessing or go straight to a local notary/lawyer.

Thank you for sharing your feedback—I understand how the signing process might feel confusing. Let me help clarify how the different documents work and when notarization is needed.
There are three separate legal documents to consider:
• Will – This doesn’t need to be notarized to be valid. In BC, we offer a Will Signing and Witnessing Service that lets you complete your will fully online from home. You create your will on our website, then book a virtual appointment to sign it with witnesses. So, no in-person step is required for wills.You can also print and sign in person, if you prefer.
• Enduring Power of Attorney – This also doesn’t require notarization to be legal. But BC law says if you want the person you name (your “attorney”) to buy or sell real estate for you while you’re alive, notarization is needed. You can choose to notarize it anytime—it’s still a legal document without notarization.
• Representation Agreement – This is a different document that must be signed in person according to BC and Canadian legal rules.
So, in BC, only wills can be completed entirely online through our platform. The other documents need an in-person signing because of provincial and national laws, not because of Willful’s policies.

Easy and complete
The process was simple and easy to follow.
The only area of difficulty was an area I wished to bypass as I already had someone in place (POAfor physical/financial assets). I could not bypass this section as I would have liked to just continue on with the rest of the document. The chat bot did not hel.

DONT USE THIS PRODUCT
The options for beneficiaries are simply not realistic. I could not complete my will with the options Willful provided, so basically it was useless.
The site only gives you the option to leave something to the children of a beneficiary. So if you don't want something going to the child of a beneficiary, or if the beneficiary doesn't have a child, this product will not work for you. For instance you want to give $100 to your friend.... well if you friend predeceases you, the $100 has to go to their kids - if you want it to go to a different friend, you are out of luck.

You're absolutely right that, at the moment, our platform doesn't offer full flexibility when it comes to choosing alternate beneficiaries —such as assigning a backup person if your friend were to pass away. In those cases, the system defaults to passing the estate to the beneficiary’s children (if any), which understandably doesn’t work for every situation.
